Even though you'd just read about the controversy, you were shocked when you realized just how blatant dumbass Vanilla Ice's thievery really was. That gave me my biggest & best laugh of the day. Also, Freddie's "call & response" was usually well into the show, so even though it sounds like a warm-up it was really his way of interacting with the crowd (and including them), which is something he really loved doing. Also, it's disgraceful, that Ice Ice Baby song. On a related note, Freddie does a great David Bowie here. Queen: the greatest band of all time!
I thought the same thing.. I mean when someone who has never heard the Queen song under pressure but has heard ice ice baby to immediately be able to tell that it is the same exact music really tells you something.. something that Vanilla Ice should have known (My thought is that he probably did but didn't want to have to credit anyone so he thought he could get away with not crediting Queen)

I have to apologise because I burst out laughing watching you melt down when Deaky started playing the iconic bass line. (You have to wonder how stupid Vanilla Ice is. All of Deaky's bass lines are great, but Under Pressure and Another One Bites The Dust are particularly iconic and so well-known.) Always loved this one. There's a stadium version with David Bowie that's fantastic and worth a listen if you get the chance. Their combined voices really adds something special to it.
No dude, he would note to the crowd to hear them sing it back. Always. It's a stadium crowd. It's different to play to 100,000 than 100. We don't have stadium bands any longer that play their instruments and sing. He was just letting everyone there know he was singing to them. Subbed btw.
You! are absolutely brilliant! Thank you for doing your research. Some, and you all know who, talk and laugh and don't have a real appreciation for what they are witnessing for the first time. Love it thank you
Yes, there were a lot of people at this concert...72,0000. Robert Van Winkle, better known by his stage name Vanilla Ice, wrote "Ice Ice Baby" in 1983 at the age of 16, basing its lyrics upon his experiences in South Florida. The lyrics describe a shooting and Van Winkle's rhyming skills. The chorus of "Ice Ice Baby" originates from the signature chant of the national African American fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha. Of the song's lyrics, Van Winkle stated in a 2001 interview that "If you released 'Ice Ice Baby' today, it would fit in today's lyrical respect among peers, you know what I'm sayin'? My lyrics aren't, 'Pump it up, go! Go!' At least I'm sayin' somethin'." The song's hook samples the bassline of the 1981 song "Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie, who did not receive credit or royalties for the sample. In a 1990 interview, Van Winkle said the two melodies were slightly different because he had added an additional note on the "and" of the fourth beat, an anacrusis ("pickup") between odd-numbered and subsequent even-numbered iterations of the "Under Pressure" sample. In later interviews, Van Winkle readily admitted he sampled the song and claimed his 1990 statement was a joke; others, however, suggested he had been serious. After representatives for Queen and Bowie threatened a copyright infringement suit against him, the matter was settled out of court, with Van Winkle being required to pay financial recompense to the original artists. Bowie and all members of Queen were also given songwriting credit for the sample. In December 1990, Van Winkle told British youth music magazine Smash Hits where he came up with the idea of sampling "Under Pressure". However, Queen and Bowie weren't too happy about having their names associated with Ice, Ice, Baby.

Please react to songs from the tribute concert for Freddie. The crowd is so good at the concert and there were so many great artists. It was like the younger sibling of live aid lol. OH AND RADIO GA GA
I love this video. The live version really lets you see how much he loved music and the fans, he wanted so much to share it with the world. ❤❤ I've been singing, acting, dancing for about 12 years and the way he just strolled on stage and started doing his vocal warm ups with the crowd. That's something choir directors/ music teachers do all the time, because they love what they do and they can't wait to share the music and their enthusiasm with other people who are just as passionate about it as they are.
Yeah' the people who were at this concert got to see something really special, they'd all be in their 50s, 60s & 70s by now. Only a small handful of people who had this type of exceptional musical talent, and to see one would be very lucky life experience.

@@saadesigner07 He didn't buy anything. He settled with them, so they took a lump sum payment for what he already sold, their names from then on were on the credits and they got a minimum 66% profits from that point on. Love it when rap fans of today first hear the original songs that are sampled by modern rap artists. I'm an 80s/90's, 2000's rap fan and early on it used to be a lot of James Brown, Maceo Parker and jazz samples, but a lot of rock bands from Led Zeppelin to Queen were sampled too by many a rap artists. My own group used to specialise in sampling from many Progressive Rock bands of the 70's for our hip hop samples. ...however I do love it seeing people hearing the Queen version for the first time...lol Your face was priceless.

You are so right...A Damn shame. You are the only commentator I've heard to date to even reference this FACT. RESPECT QUEEN!
Awesome vid as always. I'd like to request Queens Fat Bottomed Girls.
You should set aside some time one weekend and watch the full gig it's about 2 hours long, you'll love it. Queen Live 1986 at Wembley.
Deaky created that & Queen & Bowie were in the studio with him the first time he played it. The best version: the Making Of Under Pressure video & the Bowie & Annie Lennox version from Freddie 's 1992 Memorial Concert. Also listen to George Michael at that concert.
8:00 love how the camera crew knew the moments of the song and broadcasted accordingly.....
Thank you for your professional comments and open mindedness of different genres of music!
Always loved this one. There's a stadium version with David Bowie that's fantastic and worth a listen if you get the chance. Their combined voices really adds something special to it.
Brian May, the lead guitarist, has his Doctrate in Astro Physics! I SAW THEM LIVE.👑
Sally Taylor Yes and Roger is dentist and Deacky is electroengeneer.
Queens’ catalog of music is phenomenal
No dude, he would note to the crowd to hear them sing it back. Always. It's a stadium crowd. It's different to play to 100,000 than 100. We don't have stadium bands any longer that play their instruments and sing. He was just letting everyone there know he was singing to them. Subbed btw.
I'd REALLY love for you to check out official video for Queen "Don't Stop Me Now"
You! are absolutely brilliant! Thank you for doing your research. Some, and you all know who, talk and laugh and don't have a real appreciation for what they are witnessing for the first time. Love it thank you
One of theI BEST songs!!! ♥️🥰♥️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thank you!!! 😁
Queen live is always the best part of my day..every day! Glad you are doing these..thanks.
Thank you for doing this one, I'm so happy! Your face when u heard the first notes was perfect lol! Please can you do One Vision. ♥
Andrea B. - gimme gimme gimme fried chicken! LOL, I loooooove One Vision.
@@timothylove9705 👍😂♥
One vision extended version class
You really need to watch this entire concert. Worth every minute. Love your reactions!
wish I could have seen them in concert to really experience music perfection
Loved the reaction and love that song.. Thank uou so much for reacting to it
Love seeing Isaac Asimov on your recommended list behind you at the end. The man's worth listening to, and his writings are fantastic.
Go!' At least I'm sayin' somethin'."
The song's hook samples the bassline of the 1981 song "Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie, who did not receive credit or royalties for the sample.
I don't think anyone wants their name associated with Vanilla Ice or Ice Ice Baby!!! 😂😂😂😂
@@peggypenguin7290 So true.
You’re reaction to that bass line is priceless and cracks me up .... and keeps me coming back to this video again and again just to see your reaction!!!!🤣
I remember Vanilla Ice saying that it was different because he put in another note. HAHAHA Queen sued. This was an easy win for Queen.
Really? He was saying that it is different?
Yup, there's no way to to escape that he did steel the bassline.
Queen, a melhor banda de Rock!
From the UK i so Queen 4 times this was the magic tour went twice Manchester's main road and there very last concert Knebworth park got great memories of them
Listen to the studio version please :)
i've said it before Freddie was one of the few people that could say f... You to 72,000 People and the people loved it and cheered and applause. That's pure charsima and personality. That is why he is the ultimate showman. And the bassline classic John Deacon.
Loved your expression when it started, and you realised it was exactly the same as Ice Ice Baby. Yet Vanilla Ice denied it sounded the same. Come on it's a complete copy.
Your honesty is refreshing Dude
God Damn...... I have seriously grown to love your content mate. 99% of your videos are always really great viewing. i'm really loving this Queen Under pressure Live video. Keep up the always amazing work bro.
You are correct. It was the way Freddie prepared. Before sound checks, Freddie use to come out and "Ah, Oh, etc." to an empty stadium.
I use to tell me family and friends... This is my a Sample.!!!!
Please react to songs from the tribute concert for Freddie. The crowd is so good at the concert and there were so many great artists. It was like the younger sibling of live aid lol. OH AND RADIO GA GA
I just LOVE watching you and your reactions ! ❤❤❤❤
vanilla ice was a god damn snitch man... the hell😂
haha
ice is back „with a brand new invention“ ... I kinda don’t think so dude🤷🏼♀️😂
Trivial info... Bowie is pronounced like BOW in bow tie BOW EE
not like booie or buoy (anchored float) - it's all good
The knife is pronounced like the flotation device as well. I thought of some old folk hero.
Enjoyed again... Keep the love goin
Yeah' the people who were at this concert got to see something really special, they'd all be in their 50s, 60s & 70s by now. Only a small handful of people who had this type of exceptional musical talent, and to see one would be very lucky life experience.
I just saw them live. It was phenomenal
You are gr8 & I subscribed to your channel; glad you are so into Queen; I've been a fan since I was fan of theirs since the 70's & I still am @ age 62. ENJOY!!
Anyone who likes Freddie Mercury I would suggest searching -voiceplay queen in 5 minutes- there an accapella groupe and they do a bunch of queen sings in 5 minutes and they made the songs fit a story about a guy fighting angels/demons to stay alive
Queen sued the shit out of vanilla ice. He stole it from them. Queen didn't steal shit.
I think that's what he meant. He was just having a bit of a meltdown at the time so it came out "they" instead of "he".
They sued him, but he bought the song after. He can now use ice ice baby with out paying any royalties.
@@saadesigner07 he didn't buy anything. another "mith" from vanilla ice or what's called
I am not surprised Vanilla Spice stole it he is full of himself.
@@saadesigner07 He didn't buy anything. He settled with them, so they took a lump sum payment for what he already sold, their names from then on were on the credits and they got a minimum 66% profits from that point on. Ice only bought his way out of having to give up all the profits, at least Bowie and Queen let him keep something, that was awfully nice of them when they didn't have to.
Vanilla Ice never recovered from denieing stealing it
Lol. I've seen the same look on several other react ppl that I follow. One of the most, if not THE MOST, iconic recognizable bass hooks you'll EVER hear. Years &years later I'd forgotten why I NEVER took vanilla ice serious...EVER! But, you did GOOD!
Putting aside the baseline, bear in mind that this is a LIVE performance. In front of tens of thousands of people. Who had been there for hours.
And he had them in the palm of his hand.
That's Freddie!
This is my favorite song and one of my favorite performances. I know its not unanimously everyone's favorite but there's just something about it. It makes me cry.
They had stopped and went to eat and had a few too many drinks. When they got back John couldn’t remember the riff! But thank goodness Roger did and so Under Pressure was created! Freddie does that with the audience to get them involved with him. Best frontman ever!!!
I gave u thumbs up fir yr enthusiasm and appreciation of this song
I kept rewinding to see the look on your face when that bass line started and your reaction was priceless and exactly what everyone thought about Vanilla ice...😱
He’s the consummate performer. Everything he does is for the audience. He loved audience participation.
Since I saw him performed and sang on that concert, Freddie Mercury is the best for me, He is the best! 👑👑👑
"Close encounters of the first kind!" always springs to my mind with the crowd interaction
LOL man!!! Your face when John starts playing: epic!!!
You have been born again.
I love Rogers vocals in this.
Everybody! 5:10 Watch THIS reaction to hearing bass line kick it off!
Please react to I'm Going Slightly Mad by Queen. The MV it's so good, also the lyrics
