    After having KIA for 14 years I realized - it never really broke down, never caused me expensive repairs. Korean cars are very good!

    Never thought to own Korean car in my life time but few weeks ago we purchased Genesis GV60 Performance. What a difference in terms of quality compare to Tesla. Highly recommend to those thinking about pulling the trigger. Thanks again for great review!

      My Y was at 23 months old and had noise coming from the front. They "found" the upper control arms problem, replaced 1 side, I said do both please, so both side replaced under warranty. After 4 hours later, it was finally done because they decided the lower lateral links needed to be replaced too. No kidding. Well the car is now riding firmer and quieter. I am actively looking out for other EVs and ready to trade. Tesla is only good at its software and the battery, 95% of the commands need your attention away from the highway,not ideal

    Thank you for your review. I am from Germany and am planning to buy a GV60 Sport. Like you, I didn't have Genesis on my radar either. My first impressions and especially after a longer test drive convinced me. In Germany there is still a personal service for 5 years including a very cheap charging rate. The GV60 is very compact with its 4.51m length. The construction quality is at premium level like BMW or Mercedes and technologically simply top. Very good job from the Hyundai people.

    I got my Genesis GV60 advanced last week and loving it! I had hard time deciding between MY and GV60 because of recent price cut of Tesla but I am so glad that I chose Genesis! I did lots of reserch and test driving. Now, I need to get used people staring m car when I drive😊

    Awesome! I picked up my GV60 last week. Your long drive review and comments comparing Tesla solidified my decision to go GV60 vs. Model Y. I didn't notice before, but I'm surprised you didn't go Performance model. Here on the west coast, the Advanced model is super hard to come by.

    Also, regarding the wind noise, check the rubber gaskets at the front and back of the top glass. I had to use a spudger to set my gaskets straight, and that solved my wind noise issue.

    Perfect assessment of my car. 😁 Same switching from F to C as well. I have not run into the charging issue though. Picked my car up in NJ on Aug 30 and drove 500 miles home to PA. Now, just shy of 5000 miles. Smooth sailing so far

    Thanks this is very helpful. Especially your observations about the white interior. I think it's gorgeous, but would never have considered it for fear it would get dirty too easy. Now you've got me thinking that's what I should get when I buy the GV60 in a couple of months!

    Mine has 7000 miles on it now. Never saw the Fahrenheit Celsius thing, but the hatch rattles a lot over bumps when the ambient temp is under 70. All the surfaces inside and out are holding up well so far. Range also drops a lot when under 50 degrees. The dealership experience is pretty bad for those of us who live far away from authorized dealers. I'm in Kansas, over 1000 miles away from the nearest service, despite having a Genesis dealer in my city. They say Genesis won't allow them to service the vehicle in any way.

    • @SveltoPerformance
      @SveltoPerformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I called Genesis concierge service to schedule repair with a service center. I was worried that they would tell me no authorized dealer is near me. That was not the case; my local service center in Alabama can service the car.

    • @Antiguan_Dart
      @Antiguan_Dart ปีที่แล้ว

      Just playing devils advocate because I’ve got a GV60 Premium RWD in the UK.
      Nothing you don’t like!?- what about the fact that the Apple car play is wired? ( I expect this will be fixed with an OTA update once Hyundai has resolved its issue with Apple), and what about the fact that lane keep assist cancels when road markings disappears with no more warning than the wheel icon changing from
      Green to grey/white in the HUD and dash- I’m hoping an OTA update introduces a “bong” and my last one that the frunk is not motorized like the trunk- it’s a convenient location for fast food so as not to smell out the cabin but that clunking hood is not in keeping with the pedigree of the car.
      What about no 40:20:40 split and no pass through. Not being able to fold the seats from the trunk area and not being able to stow the parcel shelf.
      But I’m nit picking I think it’s an amazing car and if you like the styling and the slightly smaller size 4.515m and don’t mind the corresponding smaller boot of 432 litres it’s a compelling choice!
      With features such as HUD, self-parking, genesis logo puddle lights, rear projected on ground reverse guide lights, the rotation crystal sphere for visual indication vehicle is on, heated and cooled seats, motorized driver bolsters, vehicle to load, 233kW peak charging,
      I like the smaller size better suited to the smaller parking bays of UK multi-storey car parks, UK city and retail car parks and my diminutive driveway😂

    • @chap7360
      @chap7360 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Antiguan_Dart I agree with your statement that you are nitpicking. The items you are listing are non-issues for me. By the way, be careful not to be involved in an accident with your GV. My girlfriend just had a minor non responsable collision with the car. 3 months later, still at the dealer for repairs. Those high tech electrical cars are a nightmare to repair. No available parts. This being said we rent a Mercedes SUV in the meantime. We both just hate it. The driver boot layout is horrible. Totally unpractical and confusing. Even after 3 months of driving it I just can’t get used to it. I dearly miss my GV-60 and all of it’s creative options that are often described as gimmicky in these youtube channels. They are not. The only thing I wish we had in Canada is the augmented reality gps they have in Korea. I am wondering if you have it in the UK ?

    Here what I don't like about my GV60 after 4k miles
    -Wireless phone charge should have an option to switch it off. On long journey my phone still in charge for too long.
    -the big screen should have a 3/4 1/4 split in order to have media or radio on the screen at the same time with the NAV
    -sometimes the aircon (when in AUTO) kicks in if the temperature rises, but it is absolutely unnecessary

    Thanks for the review and the update! I am currently in the market to purchase a EV car soon. The two cars on my radar are the Audio etron Sportback and this Genesis GV60. I'm so glad to hear you say how well it's holding up after 5,000 miles. I was also worried about that white interior, so i'm glad to hear even with kids, you've mananged to keep it clean. I don't have young kids anymore so i'm think i'll be good with that interior. Right now this GV60 is edging out the Audi etron for me. Which do you think is the better car between the two?

    • @SveltoPerformance
      @SveltoPerformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Overall the Audi is the better car from a ride standpoint. Quality I feel they are about the same. The GV60 has better range and charging is better. The Audi is bigger and a softer ride.

    Paul, good video. I'm also at 5000k on a Performance I got back in May. For a month, no problems charging. Seemed like once it got hot (up near Philly), the shenanigans with the charging started. Would charge for anywhere up to one hour, then ChargePoint charger would report "your vehicle is no longer drawing power and may be full". I've tried parking outside, blowing fans on the car while charging, and now that weather is cool... I hoped the problem would go away for the season and there would be a fix by Spring. Had at to dealer twice now (its there as I type this) to get resolved. Looks like several people (mostly Ioniq5 peeps) are reporting same issue. Frustrated that I have capability to charge @ 11kW but have to limit it to 6kW. Have you ever reported to dealer? I love my dealer (Cherry Hill NJ) but they are very new to EV world (as I'm sure they all are) and seem to have very little idea of where to even begin. Fingers crossed that this is a simple OTA update (which I'm LONGING FOR, especially to fix that silly other problem with the Celcius/Fahrenheit thing).

    • @SveltoPerformance
      @SveltoPerformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only work around now, is to downgrade the amps in the car or charger. I did mine at the charger, and have not had any issues since. It’s frustrating!

      @@AdamJReid-zj1uo I just got it back from it being in shop for 6 weeks. They ordered a VCSM module from S Korea that took a while to get in, and I had a GV80 (brand new) as loaner. STILL BROKE. What's sad is they said they tested it and it was working, even though I was watching it fail on the app. I'm going to press for what others have said fixes it in the Ioniq5 (same car, essentially)... and that's the charging cable assembly. Not the end of the world... it charges overnight and no problem on Level3, just cant charge at 9kW or 11kW (which would be nice, for times when I need quicker charging like at a hotel or other destination charger). Genesis Corp hasn't acknowledged it at all which is BS, because this problem has existed in the Ioniq5 for a while (and in EV6 too).

    Good video. I'm one month and about 2K miles behind you. Also had Fahrenheit to Celsius issue but after correcting it a few times hasn't repeated. (But I like the fix if it returns) I also ordered the mats a few days ago. My big takeaway was the Miles/Kwh you're getting. I typically get 2.9-3.1. On my first road trip in 45 degree weather with heat on, I averaged 2.4-2.6. On the return trip, with milder temp and heat off, driving for a couple of hours at 75, and a couple of hours in stop and go, I got 3.4. Were you in Econ mode to get 4.0?

    In Germany, many complain about server failures. Also because of cell phone contact. Since some make the minus pole of the Bateri for 3 minutes off.dann is for a short time again all ok. but only two days :) Do you also have such an experience?

  • @bratin1215

    Great review! I picked mine up on Aug 31st with 1700 miles so far and only experience the F to C issue. It occurred today and I started my car using my phone app so thinking it's a glitch with the app? Have to see if this occurs only when using the app. No problems with home charging. Your mats look great but I'm holding out as long as possible as I really want a light color to match my interior. I'm in NJ so once the snow comes, I'll have to purchase whatever color is on the market.

    • @starrick557
      @starrick557 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That F to C issue seems to happen randomly. I've had this car since May (prob got from same dealer as you, Cherry Hill?)... and it just happens out of blue. I kinda feel like it happens only when I fail to FingerPrint in time and it makes me enter passcode... so maybe its happening when it switches profiles or thinks its gonna switch profiles. For the charging issue... can you check on your dash next time you charge and see what "kW" you're charging at? I wonder if those who don't have the problem are just not aware that they are charging at the low rate and not the higher (medium or high) rate.

    • @bratin1215
      @bratin1215 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@starrick557 yes, Cherry Hill! Chris was my sales rep. I think they are still the only dealership in NJ... I've only had the F to C issue twice since August but I only have 1 profile so maybe to your point, it's glitchy with profile changes? I'll be sure to check my dash during charging. I have options of 32, 24, 16, and 10. I don't always use 32 as I read in the manual that its good to charge at lower rates when time allows but I never check the dash once I plug in.

    • @starrick557
      @starrick557 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bratin1215 Ahh, you will likely not have a problem if your max is 32A. Unless you go to a hotel or some other AC charger that offers higher charge rate (40A or 50A). Keep this is mind if you ever charge away from home... if you see your charge rate (on your dash) is higher than 7kW, your charge might stop and you won't know it until you go out to find out the bad news :-/ *This does not apply to fast charging at DC chargers like ElectrifyAmerica or others. You will see WAY faster rates than 7kW with those, but the problem is not happening at DC chargers, only the AC chargers (like those at home, hotel, hospital/schools, etc)
