- We started with a slow walk today in search of any wildlife we could spot. We found butterflies and bees and even a dragonfly on the lavender at Church. We picked blackberries, one of my all time favourite summer hobbies and had some for lunch. In the afternoon we had another nature walk at Lancing Ring, on The South Downs. It wasn't sunny today, but warm. There weren't as many butterflies out today but we did see four slow worms! Join us.

@jeanblemings5352 thanks for watching Jean. I've been creating a video as the work in the church progresses. It will be finished in a week or so, be sure to check it out. It's amazing how they have transformed it and the space they've created will be put to good use. The butterflies 🦋 especially the blue and the slow worms lovely to see. They put corrugated iron down to give them shelter and so people can observe them, lifting it and replacing carefully. We've often seen as many as six and also an adder! No photo of that though 😲

Hi Lynn Richard and Ky what a beautiful day you had picking Blackberries I used to do that and put some in the freezer for the winter for pies and crumble. The church looked really beautiful hope everyone enjoyed the flowers in the church as I did . Then of course all the wild flowers that are in bloom now wonderful time to go walking in the countryside. Yes Lynn I love the colour purple of all shades my favourite colour. Having a quite weekend with my leg up as I have an infection in my leg. Still it's getting better, some days it is to hot for me but I am not complaining. Picking plenty of runner beans now which I love have a great Sunday and see you all on the next video ❤xxx 😊
Oh Fiona, I am so sorry to read about your leg. I do hope it gets better soon 🤗 Good to know you have lots of runner beans, they are my favourite veg in summer but sadly ours have been lacking water and haven't grown too much this year - my fault - always busy doing other things and the garden sometimes takes a back seat. I'm glad you enjoyed watching our slow day taking in the beauty of nature, which I love to do. We picked so many blackberries we have lots now in the freezer for the latter months, pies and crumbles are so delicious and they always taste best when made with fruit you have picked yourself. We are hoping to go to the community garden to get some apples. It's lovely there and they encourage people to pick and use or they go to waste. Home grown are definitely best. Have a great Sunday too and rest that leg xx 🥰
My goodness, so many juicy blackberries. Ours have only just started to ripen in the last few days, so much later than yours, here in the West of Devon. Beautiful butterfly - we do not seem to have many around here this year, or bees. I LOVE slow worms, they have such beautiful faces. Blessings and love from Jilly & Madge. xxx
Good morning Jilly, thanks for watching our slow day 🥰 today is another one 😄 sometimes you just have to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures. My Mum used to love butterflies and so do I. I always think of her when I see one. They are tricky to capture as they flutter about so quickly, so I was delighted when the blue one rested for a while; it was so beautiful with those delicate wings, almost see-through. The blackberries are abundant right now; I think it's early for them this year. They were so juicy and delicious.; We have slow worms in the garden too. Many a time I have walked down the garden and seen one basking in the sun. They are such interesting little things and so quick when they move. I have no idea why they are called "slow" worms 😄 Thank you for watching and I hope you and Madge have a lovely sunny day to enjoy xx 🥰 Blessings
