Those waldos were digitally sculpted to be fully articulated, but the joints were definitely lost because of cost cutting, and maybe some engineering issues, not by mistake. Too bad, because fully articulated waldos and some crawling hands could have made this figure.

I don't get how marvel legends nowadays are so damn expensive, especially the comic figures. At this rate you should always get an alternate head and more hands and accessories to make it worth it
The waldo articulation is definitely a cost cutting measure, even if they are charging more for the figure. That aside, you can get more poses out of them by messing with the rotation. I find you can get a more natural supporting pose with the middle one by rotating the first knuckle 180 degrees so that it bends downwards.
Agreed...this is no "woops we missed that on the final check" or whatever Shart was saying. This is 100% intentional cost cutting Hasbro BS. So glad you did this review. The only thing that kept me from getting the older version of the Iron Spider suit was the lack of articulation in the Waldoes. And I was so excited to see this newer version and that all the promotional pictures of it seemed to insinuate that it had fully articulated Waldoes. So I waited for this one. And I preordered it from Target for like $23 back when they had that sale to compete with amazons Prime day. But I cancelled it last week because I got tired of Target holding my money hostage each month (cancelled all my preorders with them actually). Long story short, I'm glad I did that because I would have been very disappointed when discovering the limited articulation, even with the sale price. Thank you for inadvertently reassuring me that I made the right choice.
I just picked this guy up just to add to my variant spiderman costumes. I like him, but I 100% agree that every spiderman needs wall crawling hands. Come on hasbro!!! He's spiderman!!!! He crawls on walls!!!

For $34 the waldo should have full articulation. Feels like a cost-cutting move to maximize profit. Just bought a Neca Kessler Wolf for a dollar less than that at Target and there is no comparison. Every time I look at that I am amazed at the head sculpt and the hair strands throughout the body. Having a difficult choice on which head sculpt to chose since they’re both good. Might have to get two. This figure on the other hand disappoints. Willing to pay Mafex for a better version of Iron Spider. Pretty sure they will make an awesome one eventually.
The only things that frustrate me are: No wall crawling hands. C'mon hasbro🙄 And really for me weak articulation in 3 spider legs there should be just one more joint in the middle and I think that would be good but with these It kinda feels limited. And the last thing which frustrates me the most is the price. I have to pay in my country for this figure 42$ (converted) from PLN and this figure is not even perfect. I don't have an issue with Amazing Fantasy 15 one because he is perfect for me but this iron spidey well hasbro is starting to annoy me more and more often that: They require too exaggerated prices for figures that are absolutely not worth that much. I think its a great figure, but people are weighing the issues of Marvel Legends vs their inflating cost. Everything is inflating, it stands to reason our luxury plastic toys would too. This guy has good paint, the two different colors can be frustrating but I think in person the metallic sheen with the slightly different reds gives it this shading vibe without having to do washes, its actually really nice and feels premium for MLs. The "waldos" are unfortunate -you can still do most cool poses to imitate comics or the game etc, but missing out on that articulation + the gold paint not matching the figure is the most understandable criticism from this video that I agree with. I still think they're fine accessories, not get crawling hands and a 50th web line are all symptoms of cost cutting. I think its fair to criticize cost cutting while prices are inflating, we see this with products across the spectrum in every market. However, if we look at this figure objectively, as a "Marvel Legend" and evaluate it in comparison to other figures -other Spider-Men even, this is still a great piece as it poses well, the proportions are nice and that paint job really catches the eye. I think it will look great swinging alongside the 80 years Iron-man and War machine in one of my displays, so for me personally I think its one of the better Marvel Legends this year.
Since I can see reviews for new package items, Hastupid raised the price for stupid paper package?! Not for qualities of products?!! New price with same number of accessories?!! Wow!! 🤔😤😠😡🤬

I believe it's one of the figures I've enjoyed the most next to the amazing fantasy and the new naruto s.h. But when it ocmes to the waldos, I think they should have at least one more point of articulation. But the thing I really hate about the figure is that it doesn't come with wall crawling hands -_-
So where the waldos that look like they have a hinge in them is probably where they made them in multiple pieces and just glued them in place. Literally it would take the same amount of engineering and less glue to just put a snap in hinge or even a ball joint.

I’m perfectly fine with them hiking the price in a figure when a true difference can be seen. I’m fine with them cutting back on the windows, but have enough to where I can at the bare minimum see the damn figure. It seems like we’re getting less for more, this fig with $5 extra I can get a neca or even cheaper SHF figure. It’s a shame too because I love legends and gotta slow down because of it
I love this figure, but my “waldoes” came very warped, and the articulation also bummed me out, so now I’m looking for another figure with better Spider-arms, like the Mafex infinity war figure or the yamaguchi one, if the arms weren’t so warped I would love it even more😔
The thing about cost cutting is I feel like they could’ve kept the waldos articulation and gave the wall crawling hands and just upped the price by a little bit. it just doesn’t add up even with the price it is now
The funny and ironic thing about this is that everyone likes to complain a lot, regarding the packaging, missing hands, paint apps, etc. but by the end of the day, anybody is doing anything to resolve the issue, stop buying from Hasbro if you want to make a change, complaining and doing nothing, won´t resolve the issue.
Something cool is yamaguchi figures acsessories are compatible with marvel legend figures i got the marvel legend carnage with the absolute carnage head unfortunately it did not come with any weaponds so i used a knock off yamaguchi carnage figure and used the weaponds it came with they fit alright wont fall off may be a tad lose
I'm thinking of spraying painting the Waldo's. I'm really disappointed in the lack of metallic on the spider legs. Just don't know a good color or if it will make it worse.
This is the first windowless package figure I purchased and a huge gold paint swish between the eyes. I complained to Hasbro and they said they couldn’t replace it because it’s out of stock. So they are sending me a different replacement. High price and worse quality. I agree not worth the price
These deluxe figures at ultimately Hasbro just testing the water. Once they see everyone happily buys them, they’ll make the deluxe price the standard for all marvel legends.
It really pains me to see this figure not being great, at the added price point you would think it would be even better, but here we are with somethin worse than what were getting at $20, it sucks man
Wish they made a "budget" version without the waldoes cause I've never cared for them and I would be totally happy with an Iron Spider without them Also... that's Extremis Iron Man
Should it have better articulation on the waldos? Sure, specially cause they increased the price. But do I care? Nah, Why would you want to pose it with the lower one straight up behind him? Or any of them completely straight?
When the prices get higher like this but the quality remains kinda meh, I just save my money for the imports. I'd rather have a definitive version than one that frustrates me
Waldos annoy me too, might try to custom joint flexibility, but it's a lot of faff I'd rather not have (especially given the price point). The open hands with the Modular Iron Man figure work kinda well as wall crawling hand substitutes (not the same texturing, but the colour matches).

It seems like we’re getting less for more, this fig with $5 extra I can get a neca or even cheaper SHF figure. It’s a shame too because I love legends and gotta slow down because of it
When will it be too much? 40, 50?
i think this was a good figure
I Think They Made Amazing Figure Here He Looks So Good I Think I'm Going To Hunt Him On My Next Toy Hunt Great Review.
I love this figure, but my “waldoes” came very warped, and the articulation also bummed me out, so now I’m looking for another figure with better Spider-arms, like the Mafex infinity war figure or the yamaguchi one, if the arms weren’t so warped I would love it even more😔
I never understood why this suit only had 3 waldos. Why not 4? To avoid Doc Ock comparisons?
Yep, that's the in-universe explanation
The thing about cost cutting is I feel like they could’ve kept the waldos articulation and gave the wall crawling hands and just upped the price by a little bit. it just doesn’t add up even with the price it is now
The funny and ironic thing about this is that everyone likes to complain a lot, regarding the packaging, missing hands, paint apps, etc. but by the end of the day, anybody is doing anything to resolve the issue, stop buying from Hasbro if you want to make a change, complaining and doing nothing, won´t resolve the issue.
I love the Hot Toys version of this! I only collect 1/6 scale now but still enjoy your videos.
Thanks for the real Shart!.
Currently hunting better waldoes as mine ships next week.
Personally I love the figure just picked it up yesterday and the figure is already amazing
I can do without the wall crawling hands. Anytime I picture Iron-Spider, I picture him on his tentacles. It just sucks that they aren’t as long.
Looks really awesome 👌
🤔It needs to be metallic and shiny, Not dull paint..😒 grade C- paint job needs more work.😮💨
Return this one and wait for the inevitable MAFEX
It's a great figure but my torso keeps springing back it won't stay in place
You'll have fun with this figure you just got to play around with those arms
Hasbro is increasing prices and staying lazy. Unacceptable to increase prices by 50% in less then 6 months without increasing quality.
I bought this figure recently and I didn't get the web shooting hands AND the wall crawling hands!
I love and hate the Yamaguchi. Looks super sick but it’s super fragile. I’ve had two joints break on me.
After tax+shipping this figure is nearly $50 from Hasbro. This doesn't feel like it's worth it with those terrible accessories.
the waldos should be gold. i just took mine out the box and im hella sad .
I was just messing around with this figure today and was looking for wall crawling hands for him and remembered no he doesn't come with any 😑
I'm thinking of spraying painting the Waldo's. I'm really disappointed in the lack of metallic on the spider legs. Just don't know a good color or if it will make it worse.
Try the Revo Waldo's on it and you will see how much better it is
This is the first windowless package figure I purchased and a huge gold paint swish between the eyes. I complained to Hasbro and they said they couldn’t replace it because it’s out of stock. So they are sending me a different replacement. High price and worse quality. I agree not worth the price
The fact that I even wanted to buy this for $55 bucks in NZ has fked me off for about 2hrs🤣🤣🤣
You got me scared with the title I really want this figure
These deluxe figures at ultimately Hasbro just testing the water. Once they see everyone happily buys them, they’ll make the deluxe price the standard for all marvel legends.
Yeah the waldos suck but im glad I picked it up last week for 16 bucks
I think for once, Hasbro actually has it correct on the wrists. I don't think human anatomy lines up like you want it to irl.
PREACH SHART! 🗣
It really pains me to see this figure not being great, at the added price point you would think it would be even better, but here we are with somethin worse than what were getting at $20, it sucks man
If I'm going to spend $10 to fix Hasbro's garbage paint then I'm basically halfway to buying the Revoltech.
Wish they made a "budget" version without the waldoes cause I've never cared for them and I would be totally happy with an Iron Spider without them
Also... that's Extremis Iron Man
Commenting cause you the best and the algorithm can suck it!
Cool I need to buy him for my collections
I never understand why he only has 3 waldos 🤷
Should it have better articulation on the waldos? Sure, specially cause they increased the price. But do I care? Nah, Why would you want to pose it with the lower one straight up behind him? Or any of them completely straight?
Not having the articulation in the wallies and not having wall crawling hands should not be acceptable at a deluxe price point.
I found a way to have Iron spider not only wall crawling hands but with repulsive blast. If you have the marvel legends iron man mark 5 set from 2010 I believe, it comes with gripping hand fisted hands and wide open hands with repulsive blast. They will fit but has a tiny gap doesn't port in all the way but it will work to make it possible. Reds don't match 100% but it's believable
