AmsOil is the best. I'm a 30 year plus dealer, and this stuff, truly, works. Follow the directions and you should be good. FYI I've got 3 vehicles, pushing 200k with no major issues.
@@BeardedFordTech I've used AmsOil since the 80s. First synthetic oil to get an API rating. As an old Cali smog tech. This stuff really makes a difference. Emissions where reduced, significantly. And engine rattle was reduced.
@iamredrunt172 I do. And the upper cylinder lube is every other month. Oil analysis shows not to use it every fill up (cylinder lube) it's very potent and gets in the oil degrading it. Other than that I do the pi every other fill up or every few tanks.
Thanks, enjoyed the video. A thought comes to mind….. “The more things change, the more they stay the same” It was 1980 and I had just made one of the biggest mistakes I ever made. I had just purchased a brand new 1980 Dodge Mirada with a slant 6 engine and Holley carb. What a turd! Cold starts on that were a disaster. Chrysler’s solution was to, once a month, spray MoPar Combustion Chamber Conditioner into the throttle body at a fast idle, then let the engine stall and sit for 15 mins. Then rev it up and blow out all the white smoke out the exhaust. Lol
Lol. Little bit different. It wasn't supposed to stall. When your done you shut it off. Let it sit while putting it back together. Then drive the clear everything out. I don't know what Chrysler was thinking back then. This is cleaning the intake and intake valves. Works really well on direct injected engines where fuel cleaner won't hit them through the ports.
@@BeardedFordTech That was just the question I had as I was watching, with more DI gas engines all the time and their issues with crank case oil mist sticking the the backside of the valves as well as the intake tract, how effective is this foaming agent on those valves as I get the idea its a very sticky substance on the valves of a DI only engine. It seems various companies claim big things from their DI cleaning products but tests I've seen so far don't play out like the claims with a visual look of the valves before and after. That is the only way one would know, either taking off the intake manifold or having a mini camera snaked down the intake. Also is there a danger of causing cylinder wear from any product of this nature as it could tend to wash the cylinder walls taking the oil film away. By the way this Amsoil product is not one I have seen talked about, it was other products that were being tested for the DI engines, a before and after, and then comparing to walnut blasting.
@charlesb4267 it does.not harm the cylinder walls. But just in case. That's why I put in the upper cylinder lube as well. And the performance improver. Next time I do one. I'll do a before and after borescope of the intake valves and possible the piston. If it's easily accessible like this one.
@@BeardedFordTech Yes, that would prove very invaluable for a lot of DI engine owners, be it doing the process themselves or getting a shop to do the procedure as you did for them ... either way is a lot cheaper than the walnut blasting process and therefore if it works, far more likely to be done before the engine is running like its on life support and more than likely having run inefficiently for some time consuming more gas up to that point.

I need to speak to you about smoke when you get rested and have a moment. Oh and you are more than welcome to get MY throttle body that "dirty" any day. I think we both know what "coal frosting" is and how it gets caked up in there! Last time I looked I thought about clearing it with dynamite...
Careful when treating diesel engines. AmsOil provides many different diesel products. The oil will always look dark and black. The nature of the engine . Maintenance maintenance maintenance. AmsOil products will not fix preexisting problems. IE clogged injectors, blocked oil passages etc. A good clean start and maintenance works. Careful if you flush a high mileage motor using the engine flush, there is a possibility of knocking a bunch of crud into the oil pan.
@@iamredrunt172 I've flushed many diesels with no problems in my fleet. Upwards of 500k miles. This intake cleaner is not used on diesels. Literally says not for diesel engines. For gasoline only. I've been doing this a long time. And an amsoil dealer a long time. I appreciate your input though.
That power foam is the bomb 👍💯 I remember when i used that free can you sent me on my Hyundai Tucson 1.6T GDI engine and man did it smoke 🤣😂🤣 i smoked up a country mile. When I was working for GM in the 1980s and 1990s we performed this procedure using carb cleaner and a GM product called Top Engine Cleaner. Our shop foreman made us do this procedure out in the back parking lot as the smoke from the Top Engine Cleaner would stink like you had just dropped a carton of rotten eggs on the ground. Question, would this Hat Trick work on an Ecoboost engine? Just wary of spraying anything that will affect the turbo.
I do it to my ecoboost all the time. Your not spraying it into the turbo. Just disconnect the duct that goes to the throttle body and spray directly into the throttle body. Works like charm. Yeah it has a very distinct smell. That's why the door was cracked. Inwould have done it outside but there was a detail company outside cleaning vehicles doing his thing. It was very noisy.
That smoke wasn't from the tailpipe. It was from the rear tires burning up from all the Ford torque and horsepower like Jack Chrisman and his Comet back in the day!

I'm no fan of GM but that Top Engine Cleaner was great stuff back in the day! It was pretty potent.
Turbo,s are tricky. High temperatures and tight oil tolerance. If the turbo is worn, there's ,really, no fix. Replacement and proper maintenance.
