The thing about the float time in the sim is that the perspective kind of throws your depth perception off. You actually end up flying way higher than you would in real life, so the float time seems longer. If you use the trees and structures as a gauge for hight and do the tricks at the hight you normally would IRL, you’ll notice the float time is a lot more realistic. IRL you’re usually not flying above the trees in most cases.
Yup, I think you are spot on there. You have to accept the scale. Another thing is when you fly IRL all gaps seems much smaller than when you look at them with your bare eyes. Scale doesn't match there either 😂
Hi Joushua, until then I was flying ANGLE or HORIZON. Now I'm starting in ACRO, following your lessons, but not on the simulator, but in reality. This lesson and the flips will be a real challenge. Thanks for this series, regards.
Sims are great when trying new stuff, whether it's rolls or more complicated tricks. It will save you money and a lot of headache from the crashes that will come when pushing yourself to learn more.

They're a great help for a complete noob like me 🙂 Regarding the floatiness of the simulator I would be curious to see some comparisons between how the drones drop/fall on the map of your place in the simulator and, well, your place in real life. Maybe an overlay video of the drone dropping (but please don't hit the ground!) from the height of your roof?
Greatings. Thank you for your tutorial series. I'm getting into drone flying for work porpoises, and maybe acro will not be my hobby. As a former sailplane pilot with aerobatic rating I find flying drones very unintuitive. I understand the physics, it just goes against a couple years of very painfully calibrated reflexes. So wasn’t exactly sure which video to ask this under, and I apologize in advance. I am finally ditching my FlySky fs-i6x and my the 6ch RX that came with it. Now I’m getting a RadioMaster Pocket w/ ELRS and if I’m not mistaking, I should just be able to get for example a BETAFPV ExpressLRS Lite Receiver and hook it up to my fc and I should be good, right?
Have you tried the updated TRYP sim? They changed the physics, just curious on what your thoughts are if you did. I think it feels the closest to reality now.
love your videos, but that is NOT inverted flight, that is just falling inverted...as I mentioned in one of the first videos, that is not a true "acro" throttle settings...in order to do inverted flying, your motors MUST be able to spin in reverse in order to literally fly inverted....the skill part is everything is oppsite, up is down and right is left, and if you throttle below zero, your motors WILL spin in reverse...that not even the different orientations that would make most people brains split in two when first learning how to fly, or in my case, relearning. Ive watched all the lessons in this series, thought they would refresh me in something I mayve lost but nope, however, I am POSITIVE it will benefit most people wanting to learn as myself or even to refresh, I just know, this setting with motors not spinning in reverse below center 0 on gimbal, inverted floating or falling and basic flips is it...which as you said, everyone should learn, but to do true acro, which includes inverted flight, this just wil not get the job done imho. Where is the advanced lesson? Do you have videos with these true acro throttle settings? With that said, thank you for all your experience and knowledge from what I have viewed already.....tech me something new and I more than likely wil sub to your patreon
You are using terminology in a way that is not consistent with how FPV pilots use it. As I told you in my reply to your other comment, what you are calling "acro" mode is "3D mode". You can switch to 3D mode by pressing the A key on your computer to cycle Liftoff simulator between Acro, Angle, Horizon, and 3D mode. There are almost no FPV multirotor pilots who fly 3D. Zoe FPV is the most notable example of someone who flies 3D regularly. 3D is very common with collective pitch helicopters, but not FPV drones. You said, teach me something new and I will sub to your patreon. Well, there you go. I just did. Now the question is, are you capable of putting your ego aside and accepting the new information I'm giving you. Or are you just going to keep (incorrectly) assuming you're right and leaving comments "correcting" me with your "facts"?

I was wrong in terminology, but will stick with that you was not flying inverted, only floating or falling from an inverted orientation. I am pretty sure I did say its been awhile, quite a few years tbh, last I piloted anything was 2014 :) I trying to come off as however you was thinking, just terminology...out of date. I have learned ALOT of new stuff from you directly and your videos, so to answer your comment, yes, you very well may see a contribution :)

Do I need to enable Air Mode to do this? Same for Powerloops because sometimes throttle goes down to zero.

I think the sim falls super fast lately. It says I’m 12m off the ground 36ft unless the don’t know what meters are and it’s 12 ft
