I feel more confident on my v2 however being 6'2" and 230 lbs, I feel it's a bit small for me. If you are looking for comfort, and also off-roading, the Monster is definitely the better choice. It's going to soak up the bumps, and roll over anything. I do agree with you about having a more powerful motor though, that would be awesome.
Thanks! So many people are asking the same question, but no one knows for sure how to accurately tell or measure it. I could not find markings on the motor. I think we might have to wait until GotWay tells us, or a smart person is able to shunt the motor and measure it.
@@AlienRides well they all use same motor but one has bigger diameter so that's why you have less acceleration .. to have more power.. you need to feed it with more amps as they both have same voltage and same 18650GA 24s2p x 3 packs.. I'm getting mine tomorrow as replacement for my old one and another one in 2 weeks.. both without batteries.. in fact your were on the same plane just me and Dima in NYC are on East coast, hence the delay.. on the one that comes in 2 weeks I'm putting custom battery in around 3000WaH but the new shell inside especially where the speakers are is not allowing me to go 24s8p.. Remember to check on the mosfets as I asked you on FB.. check if the residue glue issue is gone.. check if they are tight enough.. get some hydrophobic cloth between the speakers and then hole as it's wide open.. if you ride in rain.. that applies for both Nicola and Monster.. they have protection on speakers but their are sort of paper made.. Can someone help me out here….. my Nikola be on full charge but every time it gets up to 33mph the alarm goes off. I got the speed alarms set to 37! What’s the deal!
That would make for a great video for sure and I’ll see what I can do. I do have the MSX as well, and it’s a great wheel. The main drawback is that the one I have is only a 1230 watt hour version. Not sure if the factory is selling a 1845wh version. Could also compare against 84 volt models I suppose.
@@AlienRides Which one would you get if you were getting just one wheel? I am planning to upgrade from V8. Choosing between MSX, Nik+, 16X (waiting for firmware improvements before ruling this one out).

I’m torn between getting my first euc but I want something I can grow into and not upgrade later, I’ve been looking at the nikloa plus, the gotway rs, and the kingsong 16xl, is the nikloa harder to maneuver than the other two? Most of my roads are flat but I would like to hill climb at some point, any suggestions?
Where are you located? Both the 16x and nikola have a higher center of gravity and handle similarly. They can be prone to wobbles, but you can just carve out of them with practice. Any of those wheels can climb pretty much any hill. I recommend the NIkola AR+ if you can swing it. By far the best bang for your buck and you can grow into it. 👽🖖

I'll definitely plan on doing more Nikola Plus videos though, it just takes time and I can only do 1-2 videos a week right now cause of work. I love that wheel though and highly recommend it.
@@AlienRides Thank you for clarification, I am curious because I'm going to buy Monster 100V and I wanted to know if they are both on the same voltage to compare their agility. I see, it's a heavy wheel with big tire so less torque than Nikola, but I prefer other aspects you mentioned (comfort,off-road abilities)so I was pleased with your introduction. There is almost nothing on the web about new version... May be I have some unanswered questions, like quality of fan/ventilation, quality of speaker sound, voltage of charger(100.8V?) but I understand that these are not so critical. Looking forward to your next videos, thanks.
Pavel Moravec thanks for the suggestions, will include some of these for sure. I think you’re right on as for this wheel being an amazing wheel for long distance smooth cruising.

Hey alien rides.. so you rode the 84 volt nikola. How does it compare to the 100v. Was the acceleration and braking noticeably better any other differences ? Top speed ? Range ? Thanks bro. Great video !
Hey, thanks! You will see slight performance improvements in the 100v over the 84v, it's subjective but feels about 10% better to me. That includes acceleration, braking, and top speed. Range will likely be more than the 1600wh version, but less than the 2100wh 84v version coming out. I love the feel of the 100v, but the 84v is absolutely still a great wheel.
Nice. Thanks for the quick response. So I have the nikola 84 v and I love it. It’s an amazing machine. I put around 20 miles on it a day minimum. My thing is that I’ve gotten so comfy on it I am constantly at max speed. I’m riding the beep in traffic and I am wondering if the top speed is enough of a upgrade to be worth it. I feel like if I could go 60 km/h It’d be perfect. Also the way I ride I’m only getting about 28 -30 miles per charge so I’d like to see 40+ out of it if I were to go with the upgrade... my wife lives my nikola. So if I decide it’s enough of an upgrade I’ll give my 84v to my wife and I’ll ride the 100v. I just love the way the nikola rides it’s so powerful and so smooth. So responsive but also pretty damn stable. I think the only two wheels that are faster are the monster 100v and the msx100v. I haven’t ridden either of these but I hear the nikola is the most responsive/torquey of all the major wheels. And have I mentioned I love it. Lol So.. what you think ? Also. I’d love to see a comparison of versions. Ie; 84v monster/. 199v monster v3.... 84v nikolav1./ 100 v nikola plus. So on.. just a thought. To let peeps like me who are wondering if an upgrade is worth it.
Lucas skywheeler spot on, I think your analysis is correct around the MSX/Monster being faster. I’d love to compare all of them, but it would be a lot of guessing since I don’t have them all. In this case if your lady likes the Nikola and you have an excuse to pickup a 100v Nikola, it sounds like it could be the perfect opportunity! 😬 But also if you are cruising that long every day, the Monster might be the way to go since it’s so smooth. A monster and Nikola could be a good complementary pair of wheels to own, then you have the choice of what to take out when solo.
So far I have only done the lift test, but you definitely need to subtract 20% at least from that. I’ll be doing some real speed tests in the future, should be able to hit 65kmh.
Nice vid man. About to become a new EUC rider in the. Ext few weeks. Either a KS16X or a GW Nikola + (or even regular Nikola). Though is the extra $$ worth the Nikola+? The KS16X is supposed to have a 2200 watt motor, did the increase the power in the Nikola+ in addition to the footage and battery
Glad to have you aboard the EUC train, they are awesome vehicles! I think any of those options would be totally fine TBH, but personally I'd go with the Nikola+ if you can swing it. Best wheel I've ever ridden. I haven't ridden the KS16X, but I have heard it has some problems. Maybe I can get a demo unit in the future and do a comparison. Definitely pad it up if you're a new rider though, even just bubble wrap or a yoga mat with tape around it could work. Your first one is going to take a bit of a beating as you learn on it.
NY good question, I believe it should since it makes the same really loud and obnoxious startup sound, but I haven’t tested music on it. I will do so next video.
中国有习蛤 I would love to! I do think it’s going to be pretty similar for both, given that they are both 1845wh wheels. My guess is that I should get working 40 miles of real-world hard riding in. We will try to test to find out though!
I do want to check out some Kaabo scooters. I think the build quality might not be on par, but we are starting to see some cheaper scooters come out of china with the same performance specifications. Like most things in life though, I do believe you get what you pay for mostly.
Ameer Channel I haven’t done a full charge yet, but at 1845wh with a 3amp charger, my guess is a full charge is around 6-7 hours or so. You could probably get a fast charger for much faster charging.
Thanks! I'm using the Sidi Streetburner shoes, they're motorcycle shoes which provide a lot of protection. My only complaint is that they have a heel which makes riding slightly awkward, but not too bad. Link: amzn.to/2o1meYB
Peter Lain Nikola is better in every way except size and weight (if you wanted something smaller/more portable). The Nikola plus is so much more powerful and has much longer range. I enjoyed commuting on my Tesla, now the commute on the Nikola is a joy every morning. I’ve already sold my Tesla.
Thanks for the review! In your opinion, is the Nikola 100v worth getting over the 84v? Could you elaborate a little more on the differences between these two? Any noticeable difference in ride quality/ comfort? Do they weigh similar? Thanks for your input!
Hello! They weigh similarly as they are both heavier, but the Monster is definitely heavier than the Nikola. Can't believe I forgot to add the weight in the video, but I'll do it in the next one. I think the video covers most of the differences, but ride comfort is the main difference. The Monster is super smooth due to the large tire, but the Nikola has more torque and instant power because of the smaller tire. Both are really awesome wheels!
@@AlienRides Sorry I was asking specifically about the differences between the Nikola 84v and 100v. Could you elaborate a little more on the differences between the Nikola 84v and 100v? Someone asked a similar question earlier and you mentioned maybe a 10% boost at the lower end torque. I've ordered the 84v and not really looking to max out top speed on the wheel. I'm just considering whether the 100v is worth the extra $550 from ewheels. In my opinion, the extra half grand doesn't seem justifiable for slightly more lower end torque, which is really the only thing that would affect my riding as again, I don't foresee myself maxing out the top speed, or getting anywhere near the 32 mph+ on the 84v lol. I don't want to die! Any input on the decision between the Nikola 84v and 100v would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks again Alien Rides!
PowderyPimpSmack ahhh, yeah you were clear I just didn’t read properly 😅 the weight of the 100 volt will be heavier for sure, I don’t have exact numbers, but I’ll try to get those, a few pounds heavier I would imagine. For performance, it’s subjective, but it felt about a 10% increase across the curve, including acceleration, hill climbing, and top-end speed. If you aren’t a speed demon or care about maxing it out, then I think the 84 volt version is totally fine. Many of my friends have that wheel and love it.
Leave a comment letting me know what you would like to see in part 2 and beyond for these wheels! Or if you're not interested in these, let me know what you'd like to see a video on.
Thanks for this opportunity. I think for the size of the monster...the shell oughta be tougher. Its one if the featured thats discouraged me a bit for not purchasing the monster..as i have been looking at the monster for a cruiser wheel. I'd like to know shell durability...however you can assess that. Thanks
My Nikola plus got 55.5mph on the lift test which comes out to about 88kph so idk what Nikola u foot but mine seems faster? Idk I’d say try another lift test
Yeah, I think the lift test can vary quite a bit, and also probably depends on tire/tire pressure etc... Maybe I'll test mine again, hope you're enjoying yours!

Having gone from a in motion glide 3 deathtrap, to a kingsong 18xl.. thought that felt like a tank. This thing is freaking huge---not cantankerous like the Segway .... It's actually very slim. It's sooooooooooooo smooth. If I were to pick one wheel this would be it. I still loveeeeee my 18xl
18XL is a solid wheel for sure and should last you long into the future. What’s one more toy though, just one more, it will be the last one I’m sure 😉😅

I don't like the geeky round look of the Nikola. I prefer the more boxy looks of the monster and the MSX. It's just something about my Inmovtion V10 round look that feel so nerdy.
That’s fair, personally I think it’s sexy, but think the 16x might be the best looking wheel right now. Hoping gotway invests some more into the design for future models.
Also 1800 watt hour isn’t enough for all day more like 3 hours max. If gotway, king song, 9bot, or inmotion can make a wheel with 8000 watt hour batt that goes 55mph would be freaking awesome. Also I know it’s doable cuz electric motorcycles have way higher specs then what I’m asking for so....
Yup, right now the limiting factor is battery technology. They just can't fit a ton of batteries in an electric unicycle even with the new 21700 cells. Hopefully we continue to see improvements in batteries though, and we get more and more watt hours.
The Monster looks awesome in black😁 you usually only see them in red and blue.. I ride the msuper x and ninebot z10.. keep promoting electric vehicles.. thanks
A ten best video would be interesting, but since so many vehicles come out every year, it's probably impossible for me to ride everything! I've never done it before, but maybe I can do something a bit more "subjective" and see if people like it. I'll add it to the list, thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks! So many people are asking the same question, but no one knows for sure how to accurately tell or measure it. I could not find markings on the motor. I think we might have to wait until GotWay tells us, or a smart person is able to shunt the motor and measure it.
@@AlienRides motor didn't change still 2000, they reworked the wiring on it so it should be more efficient
@@archeebookingagent1909 Thanks for chiming in! It's a great wheel, but I do wish it was just a bit more powerful to be more responsive.
I tested the Nicola about 3 months ago and the test unit had some issues.. we have one coming this Wednesday for a newbie so will be fun.. .come to NYC and lets ride.. I come from Boston.. you can meet with Ernesto at the shop and we do some crazy shenanigans.. ( don't let Sophia ride 60 mph on scooter, please ) cheers from Panda
Archee Booking Agent I’m super excited to see what you do with the monsters! I want to open them up, just need to find time to do so, and of course make a video, might not get to it until later this week. Definitely want to visit you all soon for some fun times.
Can someone help me out here….. my Nikola be on full charge but every time it gets up to 33mph the alarm goes off. I got the speed alarms set to 37! What’s the deal!
What about Nikola + vs MSX?
That would make for a great video for sure and I’ll see what I can do. I do have the MSX as well, and it’s a great wheel. The main drawback is that the one I have is only a 1230 watt hour version. Not sure if the factory is selling a 1845wh version. Could also compare against 84 volt models I suppose.
@@AlienRides Which one would you get if you were getting just one wheel? I am planning to upgrade from V8. Choosing between MSX, Nik+, 16X (waiting for firmware improvements before ruling this one out).
Alexander Y. Andreev-Drakhlin currently I think the Nikola plus 1845wh is the most fun and versatile wheel, that’s my recommendation.
MSX vs Nik+ vs Monster which would you choose? all 100v...
Hmm, hard to say I personally really miss riding an MSX right now, I feel that that wheel carves the best.
Dope video. Where did you get the Dope helmet and shoes Bro?
Thanks man, it's a bit of a weird combo, but I like them, I'm using a mountain biking helmet, with motorcycle shoes. The shoes aren't for everyone since there's not as much grip, and they ship with a heel. Here's what I use:
- Fox Sports Proframe helmet: amzn.to/2Lyd1lh
- Sidi Streetburner boots: amzn.to/2O5KcxY
what or the shoes you use on the unicycle , they look really cool and protect very well
Youngblood68 thanks! I like them, I’m using motorcycle shoes like these: amzn.to/2O5KcxY not the most comfortable, but good protection.
@@AlienRides those are nice but pricey though
I want the AR Nikola +! It's hard to say no to the 2700wh battery upgrade.
Hah, I'm loving the prototype so much right now. Video soon! 👽🖖
Is the 100V Nikola the "Plus" model? I don't see a Plus model on eWheels.
I think if you order the normal Nikola you can choose the 100v version from the dropdown menu. It's a great wheel, you should definitely get one.
@@AlienRides upstate new York and I’ve been leaning towards the nikloa plus or the gotway rs, I’ve never even heard of the nikloa ar+ is that a new option? My roads are mostly flat but have some pretty good hills to climb and maybe a little off-road if it can, I’m only 140lbs so I’m not quite sure what would be best for me, I want something somewhat nimble but can handle 25-30mph with ease
@@truek1ng7 yes, it’s a new option we’re developing. We actually have some with a scuffed up shell for cheaper which could be a good option for a beginner since you’re gonna drop it eventually. alienrides.com/collections/electric-unicycles/products/nikola-ar-plus-electric-unicycle
@@AlienRides I think I might go with the rs, has the bearing issue been resolved? And would the high speed or high torque be better for someone at 140ibs? Can the high speed option still handle hills good?
@@truek1ng7 yes, bearings issue is resolved and the speed version can climb almost every hill. Would be happy to support you at alienrides.com
Does it rumble a bit at idle/very slow speeds? I know my Tesla does a bit of that until you get going more than a couple miles per hour.
Chrismax I am pretty sure the software is the same, but I don’t notice any rumbling really. I believe some Tesla’s rumble if the main board becomes a bit loose. Might be worth opening it up and ensuring that the main board is firmly secured.
Great video!!!
What backpack do you have? can you put the link?
For sure, I use the Boblbee backpack by Point 65. It's a motorcycle backpack that looks cool and provides good back protection. packs.point65.com?ref=alienrides Discount code: P65ARIDES15
Thank you very much!! :)
Do you know why I seen very few Nikola videos? They are already in distribution isn't? I am considering the Nikola Plus but I am not sure of my decision :) maybe at the end of the year
I think there are Nikolas in production, and I have seen a few Nikola videos, but I'm not sure why there aren't more. I'll definitely plan on doing more Nikola Plus videos though, it just takes time and I can only do 1-2 videos a week right now cause of work. I love that wheel though and highly recommend it.
Sorry I missed information - is this a Monster 100V or 84V?
Pavel Moravec both are 100 volts. More tests. And videos with both of them soon. Anything you are curious about?
What are the top speed on those two?
Should be 40+ MPH. It's no Rion-like speed, but damn are they fun, and let me make awesome videos on as well. We'll do some top-speed tests in the near future.
@@AlienRides are they as fast climbing steep hills compared to the high end scooters
@@jasontomica8938 they can definitely climb some steep hills, but not as fast as the scooters can - not much is going to rocket up a hill faster than a Dualtron scooter, well maybe the Rion 😅
@@AlienRides ok thanks
Blasted, I hope I am not too late for a response. Alien, which do you prefer the Gotway Nikola or King Song 16v? You are my last hope, because I have a deposit on the 16 v, and a shipment is arriving. I seen some reviewers having tech issues with the 16 v.
Hey - never too late for a response, but not sure how helpful I will be since I've never tried the KS 16. I'm assuming you're talking about the new 16X?
I do really love the Nikola though, it's definitely a great wheel, tons of power, looks great, rides amazing. The 16X could be good as well, but yeah, seems there's a few issues with firmware and I'm not clear if they've been addressed yet. Hope yours is ok if you keep it, hard not to think about that when riding though. Stay safe.
Alien Rides LOL, I mean the 16x.
I need help I want to buy electric unicycle but im 7ft tall and my shoes size 14 uk . Which brand is good for me? Thank you 🙏
Awesome! EUCs are a lot of fun, but you need to make sure you have enough power! Since you're a big guy, you need a big EUC probably. My recommendation might be the GotWay MSuper X, or GotWay Monster. Anyhting else might not have enough power for you.
good stuff. why u didnt go with 84v/2400wh ?
I wanted to get the highest performance possible for climbing steep San Francisco hills and stuff. The 84v is probably good enough for the majority of uses.
Hey there nice job with the video, what's the brand & model of the shiny back pack?
Thank you! I use a Boblbee backpack from Point 65. They are made for motorcycling, and provide awesome back protection. You can find them here: packs.point65.com?ref=alienrides Discount code: P65ARIDES15

Is there a maximum speed measurement with a person? or just idle?
So far I have only done the lift test, but you definitely need to subtract 20% at least from that. I’ll be doing some real speed tests in the future, should be able to hit 65kmh.
Alien Rides Holy shit. 65km on a uni? Wow
Hey Alien Rides what is the helmet you are wearing? 2:25
DREISKINS101 hey - I’m using one from Fox Sports, it has good airflow. I have a link to the helmet in the video description, check it out.
Thanx a million 👍🏾
@@AlienRides oh, do the monster play music?
Great video, keep them coming. Does the Monster V3 have speakers to hear some good tunes when riding? If so how do they sound?
NY good question, I believe it should since it makes the same really loud and obnoxious startup sound, but I haven’t tested music on it. I will do so next video.
Could I use this to commute 3 miles
at what speed did you climb the california street?
Sadly I was not recording the actual speed, but it felt pretty brisk, probably 15-20 mph. I'll go back and do it with a speedometer next time.
Hi will you do a max range test for both these wheels?
中国有习蛤 I would love to! I do think it’s going to be pretty similar for both, given that they are both 1845wh wheels. My guess is that I should get working 40 miles of real-world hard riding in. We will try to test to find out though!
Alien Rides thanks for your reply! Also what do you think of carrying the Nikola around? The handle looks too wide to grab with single hand
中国有习蛤 I have big hands so I can do it, but it is not too comfortable. Much better to use the trolly handle when possible.
U should try the kaabo wolf warrior 11, I cant believe it's as fast as the thunder but only 2800 dollars, I am very suspicious
I do want to check out some Kaabo scooters. I think the build quality might not be on par, but we are starting to see some cheaper scooters come out of china with the same performance specifications. Like most things in life though, I do believe you get what you pay for mostly.
Hi Do you know how long it takes to charge?
Ameer Channel I haven’t done a full charge yet, but at 1845wh with a 3amp charger, my guess is a full charge is around 6-7 hours or so. You could probably get a fast charger for much faster charging.

How does the Nikola compare to your tesla?
Peter Lain Nikola is better in every way except size and weight (if you wanted something smaller/more portable). The Nikola plus is so much more powerful and has much longer range. I enjoyed commuting on my Tesla, now the commute on the Nikola is a joy every morning. I’ve already sold my Tesla.
Hey guys can somebody tell me if these wheels are waterproof thx
The electric wheels are fairly water resistant, but not waterproofe. That said, I ride mine in the rain all the time.
Ok ok thanks..!
@@AlienRides solid, thank you very much!!

Alien Rides yeah the 16x looks pretty nice.
Guess I’ll be the first to ask. Is the monster shell like the msx shell In durability?
Electro Cycle nope, big step down actually, missing reinforcements. That’s a good question though and we’ll look at the internals in part 2.
great video!!! that was a good comparison
Thank you, thanks for stopping by. More in the future for sure.
I ride the msuper x and ninebot z10.. keep promoting electric vehicles.. thanks

You can! It's got a bluetooth speaker, and it plays at a pretty nice volume as well.
If we ride close to pedestrians there will be rules made to stop it. I ride a slow wheel but I don't crowd the walkers. Bythe way I thought this was a great video and you rode vary responsibly.
Thank you, I agree and generally always try to ride on the road. There was one part on the sidewalk, but that was a mixed use path and bicyclists fly down it faster than I was going.

Monster is better. Right?
Umm, monster is faster and more stable at speed, but this is more useful for bringing into restaurants/shops/etc. I typically don't like to lock up my scooter here since they get stolen easily. Nice seeing you on an EUC video, I'll be testing one later this year that does 100kmh 🤯
