I got the same mileage on my V3 on my initial test and our weights are about the same. Initially I was a bit disappointed with range. Second test I kept it around 15mph the entire test on flat ground. I got 75 miles out of the wheel and could have made 80 but I was tired from riding for sooooo long!
gen 3? what happend to gen 2 100v? It's very difficult to know what the recent models are from gotway and what the future plans are. there is no official site and every dealer is posting random info. m'about to give up.
would you say the first gen is also a good buy, or is it less reliable? how about parts availability, (if needed, don't know what can go wrong mechanically).
i can easily get 110 km from my 18XL... for comparison same speeds on a nikola 2100 wh i can barely squeeze out 100 km... GW wheels use way more battery and dont allow you to use up as much of the battery so their range, relatively.. is horrible
Great review as always. It's interesting that all the main manufacturers are installing the under handle cut-off button now. Seems so obvious, but I read or heard somewhere that Inmotion had patent on the idea, which is why the likes of Gotway weren't able to deploy one. Either I'm mistaken, or something appears to have changed. 🤔
I think patents in China don’t carry too much weight, but Inmotion may be able to enforce it in the US, preventing sales over there. After all, isn’t that what Segway did to Inmotion, hence the ‘Glide’ moniker over there?
~57 watts per mile on this video. ~46.6 watts per mile on your review 12/29/16. Difference in the riding styles? Thank you for being honest in your reviews and talking about the hub nut/pressure plates.
Very Important Question: can you do the shopping on it? without a handle it seems like it would be prohibitively difficult to push along. i guess you could pop it in a trolley. anyone had any experience here?
Personally when I pop to the shop (local coop), I leave it at the front of the shop, I suppose you could leave it also at the front desk as well. Lifting it into a trolley would be hard work 😓 (would also take up half the trolley lol)
Thanks for the video. I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a monster v3 100v. I am having a hard time deciding between the 100v and 84v as I would like to still have decent range but crave the power of the 100v. I have to say, I'm really surprised and disappointed with the range test on the 2400wh!! I'm sure I'm heavier than you at 215lbs and get not much less range than that on my z10 with a 950wh batt! I know you mentioned the stress you put on it but I ride really hard and dig deep into turns, acceleration and breaking and ride fast avg. 22+mph with my heavy frame. I could see myself riding harder than that with more weight and It doesn't seem to live up to what it's advertising. Even given the variables. Did you guys get any of the 100v in stock? I would love to see a review if so. Thanks again for the video. I appreciate your content!!! -Tyler
We have the gen2 100v in stock yes, see; www.speedyfeet.co.uk/collections/electric-unicycle/products/gotway-monster-100v-version-1845wh - its not as popular though. The 84v is a magic spot in ride, comfort, power delivery and range. If you were smashing it as much as me in this test, no way you would get 42 miles on the Z10, in my test on the Z10 from memory I got to 50% in just 15 miles and was then on very restricted upper speed...I seem to remember saying ‘your batman for 15 miles...then a civilian’ ha ha
Hey mate. I'm wondering about torque. how is the hill climb ability vs say the msx? Or ks18xl? Is it the same motor power but bigger diameter wheel? so I assume that it would have that much less torque. If the torque is just as good I wonder if the motor might be wound differently. Might explain the range. Otherwise I would love to own one these.
Bigger the wheel the bigger lean is required basically. Different style of riding with the monster, an actual body lean is required rather than a half body lean to get it going.
thx ian. great review as always. it seems you get about the same mileage on all 1600wh and up wheels, or am i wrong. msx, nikola, 18xl, 16x and now the monster all seem to be around the 40 miles, usable, range
Correct - around that sort of range yes - of course with subtle variations. On the 1000 miler with the monsters we were getting ~55 miles per charge, but then it was road and we were not averaging such a high speed. Most monster riders get 60-80 miles range under normal conditions.
I don't know why EUC manufacturers don't coat the panels with something like truck bed liner, I mean even the most experienced riders end up stacking sometime and damaging those lovely side panels.
Great video as always man. I am myself setting up a GotWay store where I live. Think we could chat some time so I get some insight on post sales service and parts replacement? Also, I noticed you were riding with low tire pressure and that apparently your rides involved a lot of uphill. What I mean is it seems the range could and should be longer if you rode mostly flat event at 60km/h. What would you say? Thanks again for the video it is awesome, just as the review on the Nikola was just brilliant!
Am checking on outcome of uno bolt project this video of yours is needing concision and for second version especially unproduced ENTIRELY i am under a day in trying to find a 1400 watt chaege accepting model or build my OWN using multi-kw accepting salvaged from HONDA fit ev cars Toshiba Scib CELLS duh
Brasil is crazy to import to, your customs charge 100% tax! So wouldnt be worth it I dont think. We do free shipping up to £50, then you cover the difference.
We will not be focused on speed no, to many mentalists going flat out everywhere. Range we do focus on that, we do video 1 with the range test. Did you see that?
3rd gen and still the same infuriating beeps. Wheels should be totaly silent until it's an imidiate danger to the rider. To ride the last hour or so of the battery with beeps must totally suck.
I had a customer who WANTED beeps early on for his kids...sadly for him the Tesla 2 only STARTS beeping at 30kmh! What we need is complete customisation of the beeps.
@@Speedyfeetuk That's exactly my point. Let people that want beeps be able to configure for their own through an app. Probably all manufacturors except Gotway does that. Both speedlimits and warnings are easy to set on both my Inmotion and Kingsong wheel.
I've been waiting for this!.. Great update,... Cheers Ian.
No problem!

You jinxed yourself good, showing off the finish out of the box like that. Every new ride gets an introductory ding like that, regardless. Sods law
“It’s levelled itself of a little”!!
No it did not!! Love your attitude man. Great job, every single drop squeezed ✊🏻
Cheers!
7:30 No trolley handle or mudguard. Also those charger ports still look cheap & tacky. Take a leaf out of Ninebots book Gotway!
I lol'ed at the startup tone reaction. I knew it was coming since it seems to be a thing on all the latest Gotway wheels.
19:10 Gotway could have made a low partial mudguard like on some motorbike rear wheels. I also think a trolley handle is needed.
gen 3? what happend to gen 2 100v? It's very difficult to know what the recent models are from gotway and what the future plans are. there is no official site and every dealer is posting random info. m'about to give up.
EUCGUY for the mudflap 👌🏼

beautiful wheel!
Love it!
Curious how the range compares with exacrly the same speed to the 18XL. I know comfort is superior on Monster but range seems quite similar.

Probably they’ve just ignored it

Yeah restrictions and export and resale are possible for sure 😎
Can you charge it in your car does it have a port for car charger? And how would it handle in rain and snow?
what's the max speed on this unit?
~57 watts per mile on this video. ~46.6 watts per mile on your review 12/29/16. Difference in the riding styles?
Thank you for being honest in your reviews and talking about the hub nut/pressure plates.
Yeah - riding style is pretty much it. The trip back from the car, that was all fast paced road action for ~22 miles of the journey.

Does it have the axle metal parts bigger and no issues like Hsiang?
Hi, are the EUC’s legal in uk or not ?
Grey area at best really, we advise private land only for anyone concerned on this issue prior to purchase.

Good for beginners?
I'm looking greatly forward to riding this wheel
Its amazing!
What's the performance difference between the monster gen3 and MSX?
MSX is smaller diameter wheel - so more poke off the mark, but for the long hall the Monster steals it in terms of ride comfort

Where can I buy the unicycle stand?
Checkout www.speedyfeet.co.uk/collections/kingsong-parts/products/euc-army-speedy-feet-euc-stand
Is it as good as the MSX when it comes to offroad?
Its a beast offroad - just like its ‘little’ brother the MSX
Where can I buy this!?
Link in description - but also here: www.speedyfeet.co.uk/collections/electric-unicycle/products/gotway-monster-22inch-2400wh 😎
@@Speedyfeetuk I'm definitely buying this. The website ships to Norway, right?
Correct, worldwide (free shipping up to £50...anything over you pay)
@@Speedyfeetuk Just wondering if the Monster V3 and the MSUPER X 100v have any differences? What are their pros and cons compared?
Oh no.
No speaker review.
When you get a chance will you review the sound of the speakers please?
Thank you
Good point, forgot about that - they are a bit lame.
24:45 Specifically the Pacific is an ocean.
Didn't you say you was never going to service your zoe Ian.. What changed? lol great review on the monster
See previous videos re Zoe😉. Monster came in so handy! Got me through the day 😎
How is it in the rain, no issues with rain damaging the controler being that the back of it is exposed to the wheel well?
Control board is deep inside the unit
I don't know why EUC manufacturers don't coat the panels with something like truck bed liner, I mean even the most experienced riders end up stacking sometime and damaging those lovely side panels.
They could do. Does the liner just peel off them once you want to remove it without damaging it / leaving a residue?
I hope you reviewed the speakers. Remember you promised me. 😁
I know the answer will probably scare me silly but what is one of these things worth?
Take a look here: www.speedyfeet.co.uk/collections/electric-unicycle/products/gotway-monster-22inch-2400wh
Speedy Feet UK also, just noticed that your link here shows the motor is 2000w, while the specs I received from GotWay show 2500w. Typo?
Good ^^*
Thank you 😋
wow i just found out u guys cant drive electric scooters\EUC in the cities out there in England. Thats harsh.
EUC is a grey area for sure, but we have never had any hassles.
cool

Yes max tire pressure, slower speed, flat ground and light rider and 21c will produce biggest range 😎
