I just remember my mom came in my room looking shocked once and said "that didn't make my ears bleed" 😂 It's the worst instrument, why do they do this to parents?! Only thing my mom hated more passionately than recorder practice was stepping on Legos.
@Heath Oh lord 😆 Kids can learn just as much from singing, the instrument is free, and at least there's hope they won't produce a sound nobody would willingly listen to. Guitar, piano, and drums are the most common instruments kids will actually pick up and want to learn by choice. A recorder would not prepare you for a non-wind instrument. This is just a silly argument. I went to public schools with basic keyboards and guitars available for rental. Makes more sense than buying an instrument nobody ever uses by choice. My daughter picked up violin in high school, I'll have to ask how much the recorder taught her about music 😂 there are endless ways to learn about music, my guy...
