Great video. This was my beginner drone. I watched this video when I first got my X5, and the video told me exactly what I needed to know. I came back today for a refresher, and it's just as helpful watching it a second time. I love my X5. It's totally reliable, and very easy to use.
That's great drone. I got one with a 2k camera but apparently your video in this review has better quality. It was through your review that I decided to buy why I liked the image quality presented here.
Excellent video!!! :-) I did take note on mine almost immediately that FPV latency was terrible -- one to two seconds -- which means that there will be no true FPV for this fella. But everything else (that I've experimented with thus far) functions as advertised making it my (current) favourite LOS drone!!! -)

I have the JJRC x5 2k. The battery is a 7.6v 2420mah. Any ideas on charging the battery with hobby grade charger and what adapters needed. Thanks so much! I know the original battery was 7.4v 1800mah and had a different battery box than mine. 😊

Can we edit the videos on a pc to have a smoother output? It seems to be breaking a lot and the phntom3 is way way smoother. Now i know phantom3 is kinda premium product but was the video on the phantom3 raw or did you process it a bit? I'm wanting to find the cheapest drone out there than can make decent and smooth video results.
As a after thought my purchase was May 31 2019 jjrc drone 3 batteries and bag $170.99 beware of ebay and their sellers,some offer buyer protection but ebay is scandalous.
I have a bugs 3 charger, it charged its batteries faster. The adapter for the X5 fits, and seems to be the same voltage etc. Do you know if it would hurt to try it for charging the batteries for the X5?

Heads up: it will only work with the associated JJRC app. So, there is something different than the bugs going on under the hood. Great review! Edit...I see yours flew with either app. Quadcopter101 couldn't fly his with the Bugs app. No big deal, I'm sure... Thanks for the great demo flight! I want to get one of these. in the intro video, when I can a drone fly in the same place. Is that the same drone JJRC JJPRO X5 5G? It look more stable then the other sequences you shows.

Just got this x5 2veeks ago. I've lost control 2 times and suffered flyaway.. I lost the drone into a creek and it is drying out now. Why would I lose control? I had good power, was nearby the drone, had full satellite connection 17 ... The thing both times just took off on its own .. crashing into trees and unfortunately into a creek the last time. (Still drying out don't know if it's flyable..) Is it possible high line interference ..both instances occured in the same proximity to lines in the front of the house.
Perhaps the lines but most likely due to compass calibration. Have you done the calibration accurately? Whenever drones go into water, unplug the power in the water before taking it out.

It took off on its own.. thankfully the mapping was on and provided a good proximity ... Local kids found it splashed in the creek and returned it. Unfortunately with lights flashing battery still in place. I took out battery, sun-dried .. then later removed cover and washed mother board in isopropyl alcohol .. it's drying now in a bag of rice :(. So you think failure to compass calibrate could cause total loss of control? It was like deadstick.. and no GPS?
@@scottmoseley5122 Yes, compass calibration should be done each and every time otherwise it will think home is somewhere else and it will be like a blind person with propellers.

I notice you did gyro calibration in this video before you took off. Edit: the drone didn't survive it's water escapade. Only the front light powers on.

I have the bugs 5w awesome drone,cant fly it near the apartments i live in (for now) 3 stories. as soon as it gets above the apartments altitude holds it perfect. Looks like JJRC Copy cats are selling it cheape rthan the bugs 5w

Great review... You mention you put the AIO camera on the Bugs5W and are doing the same with the X5.. Why? So basically you are not using the WiFi component. I'm waiting for JJRC or MJX to come up with a better Hubsan H501s.
Gorilla Man Thanks :) I’m not a fan of the 5g WiFi FPV. It has frame drops everywhere and it is not a reliable source of FPV. It can be a disaster for a beginner and they should scrap this 5g WiFi altogether and go with the 5.8ghz FPV system like they did with the bugs6 and 8 which is a lot better and you can actually FPV!!! I put an aio vtx which looks crappy BUT!!! You can FPV!!! With a cheap aio like the AKK A3, I can go as far as the quadcopter can go and that would be 1km with the bugs5w and hope it is the same with this one too :)

Ten en cuenta que en interior no tendrás gps aunque si podras hacer fotos y videos. En el exterior la conexion con satelites es automática por lo que la vuelta a casa estará activa. Espero haberte servido.
He olvidado decirte que para tener fpv tienes que ir a ajustes de tu tfno entrar en wifi y seleccionar el correspondiente al wifi del dron, asi de facil.
I bought the jjrcx5 from ebay and the controller is defective, Ebay customer service is horrible. The seller does very little to assist me.We need to have these scandalous companies reprimanded Don't buy from Ebay find a better source that has a warranty program.
Don't you have to have a 5 G phone to get the video signal most people here in the UK are 3G and 4G makes you wander weather the drone and phone companies are in cahoots to make you buy more recent phones.

Isn't it wonderful that the shipping is next to nothing? Yeah, it takes a little while but if we were to sell something to someone in china, we would have to charge an arm and a leg for shipping :) You could get it from Amazon from a reseller in the states but the cost goes up.
k6lsn Their approach to the bugs 8 and the 6 with the 5.8ghz vtx camera unit was in the right direction!!! I’m not a fan of the 5g wifi. Easier to extend if it was 2.4g wifi.

Yes the camera is detachable. Very easy to remove. Turn camera 1/2 turn it's off - then just unplug the connection.

do the antennas do anything (are they fake) ? would antenna boosters (reflectors) help any?
On the remote, they are fake antennas...but if it were to modify it and take it out, then the deflectors could help out.

The quadcopter emits a wifi signal. Go to your settings in the wifi section.

I bought the jjrcx5 from ebay and the controller is defective, Ebay customer service is horrible. The seller does very little to assist me.We need to have these scandalous companies reprimanded Don't buy from Ebay find a better source that has a warranty program.

Just got the jjrc pro 5 it will not fly will not bind will not calibrate just sit there with lights flashing
what you need to do is turn on the quad and turn on the remote while holding down the lock button to pair for the first time.
Don't you have to have a 5 G phone to get the video signal most people here in the UK are 3G and 4G makes you wander weather the drone and phone companies are in cahoots to make you buy more recent phones.
The phone just needs the 5g wifi capability and not cellular 5g.

Hi RC Escape. I just recevied my X5 EPIK from Gearbest and everything is great except camera. Because it seems that its blurry or out of focus. Can you please check this raw footage and tell me if its normal quality for X5 or is something wrong. Also when I open video with BS Player it says 20fps.

I have orderd this drone it looks good but you have to wait as they send them from china, what i dont like are drones they put eyes on there babyish.
Isn't it wonderful that the shipping is next to nothing? Yeah, it takes a little while but if we were to sell something to someone in china, we would have to charge an arm and a leg for shipping :) You could get it from Amazon from a reseller in the states but the cost goes up.

Their approach to the bugs 8 and the 6 with the 5.8ghz vtx camera unit was in the right direction!!!
I’m not a fan of the 5g wifi.
Easier to extend if it was 2.4g wifi.
