I've had mine since July 2018. It's a great drone, but I crashed it and broke my camera. I cannot find a replacement camera for this. you would think that a replacement camera would be one of the first things they would offer.
i would of liked to see the failsafe auto land in action you said you was going to show that important feature but instead pressed return to home manually
I just tried to fly this exact drone my 2nd time and I’m not getting a WiFi signal on my app but I am on my controller, does that matter ? A couple days ago my first go at this I got read outs on both ?
When you put the battery in the drone, you have to wait 8 seconds and a beep before calibrating. Vertical calibration should be performed with the camera facing upwards according to the instructions. My Android application is in Chinese. !?!
I was able to get 300m before my wifi cut out in a suburban area at 140m altitude (max altitude 150m) which I think is really good. I completely lost line of sight before wifi by a long way. The camera is the weak point here. Videos are ok, but shaky and a bit choppy. Still images though are more like 2MP than 8MP quality. MJX definitely overstate the stats, and have given consumers BS answers to their queries/complaints. Also the construction seems pretty solid for most of the unit, especially of the propellers. That said when I received mine the part where the camera mount screws in was broken straight out the box, and the clip from the camera cable broke off when trying to unclip it before even using it. I nearly sent it back right away. Overall it's a fun capable fast drone, more of an all-rounder than a selfie drone. Great if you can get the range I got (Samsung s7 edge btw) and there's some real ups and downs. You're not getting a ski for a bargain though, remember that.
I don't have internet on my phone can I still fly it?.Can I put a monitor fpv?I have glasses and cannot use fat goggles. What would you suggest? I'm a newbie and appreciate your advice. Sorry about the stupid questions.

Nice review, good GPS and return to home. The WiFi is it’s failing point. If it were 5.8 it would be much better and compare better with the Hubsan 501ss.

Can you add a flir camera there? And which bugs drone is better? I need a drone that can run longer fh and further for search and rescue at 200usd or less please suggest some.

I agree that it is not the greatest. I added a BTG landing with gimbal for my go-pro and I still get shaky video. Has anyone else experienced this and a way to resolve? I tried changing the dampers to see if that would help out? BTW this is for my Hubsan H501S model.
I ended up getting the Bugs3 Pro..I didn't realize the Bugs5 was smaller than the Bugs2w..I wanted a bigger bird, longer flying time too. Don't get me wrong...I'll be back for the Bugs5!
So, what the heck was the final verdict on how high and how far out would it go in meters ?? 175 meters out before it lost Wifi or Control communication ?
Dude the Bugs 5W is Awesome!!! Pretty much the best thing you can get for the amount of money you're spending only other drone that could compare would be a hubsan but at the same time the hubsan does not have the movable camera. I also have a bugs 3 which is free stick not a GPS drone I think that's my best flyer but my B2 SE is also every bit as awesome as that bugs 5w.
Somewhere (I forgot where) one can get it for 120$. Significantly cheaper than the 502s, which otherwise is better. What I do like about this Bugs is how quiet it is.
My problem with many of these drones is the availability of replacement parts. When I would fly helis I would stick with TREX and Blade eflight. You could easily obtain parts and upgrades. Half of the drones coming out are throw away toys.
Actually lots of the toy ones have parts. You just have to find them. Even the mini Hubsan ones have parts online. I used to fly TREX 700. HV so I know what you mean though. MJX is one of the higher end toy drone brands you can get extra frames motors etc for.

It's a very good cheap GPS camera drone but in a desire to get all the bells and whistles cheaply they put them all in a wifi app. I'm not sure that it is truly a competitor for the Hubsan simply because of the fpv limitations but some will like it.

MJX is usually good for me. They all fly pretty damn good. When I get a new MJX drone I am usually comfortable going out to fly it for the maiden flight. Other toy drones haha I have had some fails. Thats why as a reviewer you never drive a half hour to fly just one quadcopter. You better have a few just in case one eats the big one. My fail collection of video needs to be compiled. lol. - JD.
Dude why is there a huge parking lot in the middle of nowhere, there's just fields and a few houses and nothing else that would require that many parking spaces 🤔

You're welcome. I think a lot of these drones are ok. None are perfect for sure. This one isn't bad but could use some better wifi realtime frame transmission. At least it flies good. Video is somewhere in the middle as far as these 1080p drones go.

@VALHALLA SKOL yes, your phone needs to have a 5G function. I have a Huawei Y6, which only has 4G, so I decided to save up a bit more and buy a Parrot Bebop 2, which I highly recommend.
Camera has no stabilization..a few dampes and so no jello but all over the place..short videos is all your going to end up with after edit. Need a gimbal or EIS stab..

try to replace the wifi anthena with 2 clover fpv anthena. i moded my b5w and it can go 600 meters distance without lossing fpv

Balance your props. That in itself will get rid of most, if not all, jello. Lots of vids on youtube to show you how.

Hubsan 501s is hard to beat.

Man that cam is fairly good for a cheap quad. Mjx never disapoints with making toy/hobby grade products, Kind of in between those 2

Why is it the RC battery draining so fast?

I agree. There should be a way to cut down the frame rate to 320p. Maybe then it wouldn’t lag or freeze.

Does any cell type matter. One video said that 5G was necessary. I think that was a error as 5G is not out yet. I hope to get one for Father's Day.

Camera sucks, choppy laggy if this is 1998 ita okay but 20 yrs later this camera like china unbranded camera.
