Why do I get a black background when I drop optical glow on a shape layer? Changing alpha channel to preserve original gets rid of the black (makes it transparent) so I can see the layer below the shape layer, but the effect disappears as well? Can't figure it out.
When I added the star glow last night onto a 3d layer last night. The background layer I had set up. Went all black. Do you know what would cause the backgrounds to go all black. I appreciate your help btw.
@@MaxonRedgiant it was star glow. When I added another instance or effect it seemed to black out the background of my 3d object.. And my solid didn't show through.
When I apply optical glow to text, it just shows within the text rectangle. I cannot increase the size as all glow effect is within a rectangle. It works normally only when I click on 3 d layer option. Any help?

deep glow is also very good they fix the same thing

Deepglow looks way better in my opinion, Optical glow looks a bit fake

For the Tron character. When you say roto. Did you mean rotoscope. Like you just masked the portions you wanted glowing?

@@bullishgains201 are you taking about Star Glow or Optical Glow? Optical Glow alpha is covered in the last part of this tutorial.

So my optical glow doesn't work..it Just freezes the comp and does nothing...it only works in supercomp....😅
Where's the reflection from the glow?? That really makes it realistic..
