Hey Stue, Great video! I have a question: What do you do when your footage doesn't have any straight lines for the software to analyze? how do you get the undistorted image then?
This has been great except I've had one issue...When trying to run the 3D Tracker an error pops up "unable to obtain dynamicklink project". I've tried uninstalling/re-installing but it only happens after I apply Lens Distortion plugin. The 3D tracker works well otherwise but I always get the error when trying to track the proper Comp. I'm using Adobe CC 2020. Any thoughts on how to fix?
I recently had the same problem when I was just trying to do this effect manually..it worked after I had restarted AE for the 3rd time...adobe forums do say you should uninstall/re install creative cloud. But just try giving it a few restarts..worked for me🤷♂️
It is always interesting how smart people rarely know what they are saying and how they are talking. If you optimize an introduction like this by stuffing it with as much relevant verbal content as you can come up with on the fly, you have actually optimzed the intro for those who needs the info least and will learn the least from it.
Can we create lens profiles with this? Like the mobile lens distortions won't change with different scenes so can we create one profile to use across all pipeline?
If you stabilize video, that means (effectively) moving the image around so that elements in it appear to be static (or, at least, less erratic). This means that any lens distortion is moving too. Any tool attempting to undistort it will be less effective since the distorted areas will be moving in and out of the undistortion effect. Does that make sense?
Hi, Thanks for the video. I was wondering if you can draw the lines in multiple frames of a footage before undistorting or creating the undistorted comp?
Finally!!! Thank you so much for this you just saved us so much time 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Awesome, where I can see the tutorial: fun bullet-time nerf dart shot
It was a presentation Stu made. It's on the Maxon channel: th-cam.com/video/5CmDSNFyehk/w-d-xo.html
Hi Red Giant !
Yay, Stockholm @15:49! :)
Red giant is like you are the owner of After effect. I hope they appreciate your works
They'll probably appreciate it by stealing all the ideas for proprietary effects like they did with Element.
@@DodaGarcia Hmm, company's
@@DodaGarcia huh?
Looks sweet!
So is there anyway to export the distortion data to other compositing software like Resolve Fusion or Nuke?

If you wanted to stabilize a shot to have a smother camera move - would you undistort it first? Or do the undistortion to the stabilized? ?

Yes!
Great tutorial! Do you know where I can get the node slider as seen in 6:54?
Just hit tab on your keyboard!
What's the title of 8:37 tutorial? I can't find it

@@MaxonRedgiant Thanks!
Is this available by itself?
(perhaps for free? 🤷♂️)
😉
Should I be mistaken for thinking that $199 USD is way to much for a single tool?
WOW
Hugeeeee
👍👍👍
This is game changer, or am i the only one who just heard about this ;(
no..... you are not
10:54........man......da f*....wow
Snackalicious tutorial as always
Many footages doesent have straight line
That's true. If you have anything shot with the same lens, you can use that information on any shot.
Awesome!
