As an Arab I say Alhamdulillah that we have great brothers and sisters in Indonesia and Malaysia. Just seeing the way they acted during the earthquake gives me chills and makes me proud that I am a part of this great Ummah with such amazing people that I can proudly call my brothers and sisters. Actually he just Said the basic. The One who converting king of Kedah is scholar from Yemen name Sheikh Abdullah bin Sheikh Ahmad bin Sheikh Jaafar Al-Qumairi. Sheik Jaafar al qumairi is student of Sheik Qader al Jailani.
Sheik Abdullah came to Kedah with his 11 Friends, their ambition is to spread Islam in Kedah and asking king of Kedah became muslim.
When they met king of Kedah, king of Kedah Said i only embrace Islam if you shows sometimes oustanding. So Sheik asked them to prepare poison and they give Sheik poison and he recite du'a and drink that poison.
Nothing happened to him, so king of Kedah asked him about what relegion that can make him this strong, he Said Islam and Allah is One God, prophet Muhammad is the last prophet. King of Kedah embrace Islam and because of that Sheik with his friend built masjid on top of jerai mountain.
Although there's no longer masjid standing but we still can find Sheikh's well to take ablution. There's also another good known story where Sheik when he first met king he told king that he bring head of shaytaan in his jar. When king look at that jar, he only saw alcohol so the king asked, where the head. He Said alcohol can turned someone into shaytaan head. This is true, to add. Islam was already brought by the Sahaba RA to Maluku mind you this was during the life time of Nabi Muhammad SAW in the year 623 to Banda Neira, the evidence of this is still preserved (bukti sejarah) till this day, this was the first phase of Dakwah. After this the second phase started from 9th century till 14th and the last phase is from 15th century until late 18th. in between the first and 2nd phase and 2nd and last phase a lot of great grandchildren of the Prophet SAW and later on syeikhs and ulama came like you mentioned syeikh Abdul Qodir al Jalani, later the Wali Songo were sent. Almost all of them (may Allah be pleased with them) are in their genealogy related to the Prophet. The sultans in the whole archipelago of Nusantara were and still are because of this fact related to each other by blood.
I'm thankful for this video but there is still too misinformation in it because this is the story told by the colonisers. They wanted to erase the history of islam in Maluku and the rest of Nusantara, there is a reason why Islam already came to Nusantara/Maluku during the time of the Prophet SAW and because of this reason also the European colonisers came to Nusantara and tried to erase the islamic history. That's why in western history book they say islam started to come up only after the 1400s. While graves and other evidence suggest like I told here islam was already there from the start in 623.

Before Islam came all the regions we now we called Nusantara was under Majapahit covered vast majority of south east asian region. And Islam was also imposed on people when it came to Indonesia right at the downfall of Majapahit, it was a bloody one if you carefully read the history of how remnants of Majapahit people in east Java fled to Bali seeking refuges there and rebuilt their lives under Bali Hindu kingdom there. And Christianity wasn't imposed with wars, their missionaries tagged along with colonial armies to the region and did their own mission, similar to early Islamic waves through traders who also doinv Dawah. Later when sultanates or Islamic kingdom established the imposing began, exactly because of that our forefathers learned that the bloodshed because of domestic religious wars from Hindu era to Islamic era only brought us misery and suffering when we also had to fight the colonialist armies. And though religions brings ua light and hope, reshaping our society, rebuild our idenity, they are all foreign influence we embraced into our lives with high reverence. And Asians basically religious people thats why whatever religion one embrace, people are very pious and devoted. Yet we also people who respected and honor our tradutions, ancestors, etc that had been there before religions from outside came in. And we tend to assimilated our religions with our own traditions. Look at each tribal traditions lots of Indonesian still practices up to this day, many of them are ancient and we either Islamised or Christenised those traditons...instead of abandoning or discarding those old tradirions we keep safeguard them them with religous values.
And the muslims in southern Thailand, and also southern Phillipines are Melayu people either remnants of Islamic sultanates or people who fled into the region and started and build their own Islamic communities.
But Islam didn't came to Nusantara first...Hindu came first then Buddhism, then Islam then Christianity. And they came in waves. The word Nusantara itself is old Javanese word influenced by Sanskrit language and firsr found in the book Negara Kertagama, a state concept of Majapahit. And it was Gadjah Mada who first called all the lands and sea conquered and ruled by Majapahit as Nusantara. We hold true to alot of our ancent Hindu terminologies, traditions, concepts even after the fall of all Hindu kingdoms....and even in Sumatra and Kalimantan and elsewhere where Islam sultanates and kingdoms have such great influence and impacts people still maintain their pre-Islamic Melayu traditions that being Islamised. Thats why Islam in south east Asia is unique and have alot of nuances of traditions and are very tolerant because we had been through every kind of wars that mase people learned to be at peace with each other and to co-exist as we shared common ancestors, we are one people to begin with so many diversity thar enrich us as a people instead of dividing us. Each religion brought its own great impact to our society, imoacts that make us who we are as a people. Ir is something we actually cherish and be proud of. No matter what the religion, ethnic/tribal group we belong to...we all have one idenity ... people of Nusantara.

The foundation of Demak is traditionally attributed to Raden Patah (r. 1475-1518), a Javanese noble related to Majapahit royalty. At least one account stated that he was the son of Kertabhumi, who reigned as king Brawijaya V of Majapahit (1468-1478).
In 1478 the Sudarma Wisuta war took place, when Ranawijaya's army under general Udara (who later became vice-regent) breached Trowulan defences and killed Kertabhumi in his palace.[8][9] Demak sent reinforcements under Sunan Ngudung, who later died in battle and was replaced by Sunan Kudus, but they came too late to save Kertabhumi, although they managed to repel the Ranawijaya army.
This event is mentioned in Trailokyapuri (Jiwu) and the Petak inscription, where Ranawijaya claimed that he already defeated Kertabhumi and reunited Majapahit as one kingdom.
In response to the collapse of Kertabhumi of Trowulan and the rise of Girindrawardhana of Daha in 1478, Demak decided it was no longer obliged to sent tribute to the Majapahit central court and declared its independence.

This is good, but I want to add a little detail. Those Majapahit supporters (anti-Islam) always blame Demak for attacking his own father and create a narrative that Islam was spread through war (fyi, the first sultan of Demak was the crown prince of the Majapahit kingdom), the story is not told in full, the king of Majapahit (a.k.a. the father of The Sultan of Demak) was couped by his own cousin, the Sultan of Demak finally sent soldiers to the Majapahit palace to save his father, but after arriving, his father had disappeared, finally Demak launched an attack on his uncle, and finally Majapahit lost, some of the Majapahit royals made an exodus to the island of Bali. and also, Mataram is not the greatest Javanese Islamic Sultanate, but Demak is. In fact, Demak is the largest sultanate in Malay archipelago in terms of territory. and Demak has the largest naval fleet in the Malay Archipelago. When Melaka fell into Portuguese hands, Demak launched an attack on Melaka to help the Sultan of Melaka. The attack lasted for 3 waves, although it failed, but Demak succeeded in preventing the Portuguese from sending troops to Ternate and Tidore so that Sultan Baabullah could defeat the Portuguese.

It was the Chinese that converted the
    Melayu People to Islam.
    Emperor Hong Wu,
    of Ming dynasty,
Whom defeated the Mongols with the assistance of
Chinese Muslims was close friends with Paramiswara,
    The Maharaja of Srivijaya.
    Emperor Hong Wu
assisted Paramiswara in repelling Majapahit attacks on Singapura by sending soldiers and weapons.
    Singapura fell by treachery.
A village chieftain betrayed the King by opening the the gates of the palace for the enemies to outflank the royal defences.
Emperor Hong Wu’s father in law was a Muslim General that assisted
Emperor Hong Wu in defeating the Mongols.
    Emperor Hong Wu
married his firstborn daughter to Paramiswara whom was a Muslim.
Paramiswara converted to Islam because of this and in turn,
all his fellow subjects followed suit.
Ming Dynasty fell shortly after due to internal strife between Emperor Hong Wu’s grandson
Emperor Jian Wen and his uncle Zhu Di.
    Upon the fall of Ming,
Emperor Jian Wen together with his son
Zhu Wen Kui settled in Melaka because his Aunt was the Queen of Malacca.
    The bond between
Ming Royal Family and Srivijayan Royalty are inextricably bound from that moment onwards.
    All of whom,
live a life of a commoner today.

This is a history that sadly even most Indonesian musmilms are ignorarn of. I'm native Indonesian and non-muslim, but I do proud of our history. I'd like to add that different waves of Islamic spreading makes Islam in Indonesia particullarly unique, that they don't being arabised by the peoole who bring Islam to Indonesia, they still keep all their ancestral Hindu-Buddhist and even many Chinese-influenced traditions, instead being arabised, they Islamised their traditions. And they embraces Chinese form of muslim dressing, we still call it "Koko clothing" for muslim men dressing, from Chinese "Tage" or "Brother" dressing. And women still wearing their traditional dress evolved non-covering shoulder into proper cover of the top and adding head covering. And after along bloodahed berween kingdoms (hindu vs buddhist, then hindu vs islam, then islam sulatante vs islam sultanate, and against colonialist), people came to realise the cost of power struggle throughout our history. We realised we came from same common background though we have so many ethnic/tribal/linguistic background we mostly share common ancestors, and the religions are foreign influence we embraced individually or collectivelly that help shapinh our society and then later identity, but Indonesoan themselves inspite of the majority of the people are muslims refuse to make our national idenitity as one with religious identity thus make the country identified by the religion, because our forefathers realised our long history can't be identify with a relogion. We came from pahan animist dynamist people to hindu-budhist people (that lay foundation for oir civilisation), then Islam came, then Christianity came, Konfucianism or other form of Chinese traditional belief (probably had been in Indonesia as old as the Hindus or even more old who knows since our common ancestors were indeed from southern region of China) and of all things all the people regardless their religiojs backgrounds, fighting the colonialism, fighting for independence and fighting to keep the independence. So Indonesia despite making up the largest Muslim population in thw world, is a secular country.
Our sacred national symbols are inherited from our Hindu syambols...our Garuda eagle is the mount of Hindu Deva Vishnu...A Garuda Purana. Our National Motto also in from inherited from Hindu our one great Hindu Poet whose language is heavily influenced by Sanskrit. Our military mottos as well all influenced by and taken from our old Hindu traditions. Even nowadays most of us don't even realise why we still practicing certain traditions which is just similar to our Hindu fellow country-men. Even though many have been Islamised or even Christenised people stil do those old traditions with such reverence.
That is why also inspite muslims make the largest population, we live in peace with each other, because for Indonesian, we are fellow Indonesian first and foremost, then our ethnic or religious, etc backgrounds. We hold sacred our national motto "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" - "Unity in diversity".
We love our country first and forwmosr and we always identify ourselves as Indonesian first before acknowledging our other backgrounds. Thar is why Indonesia also known for its religious tolerance. We do not push aside our religious differences but we tried our best to live side by side harmoniouasly despite all of the difference. Our common ground is thar Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. There is no majority or minority in that. And our forefathers who laid this foundartions most of them were muslims.

You can refer to our professor, Prof Solehah Yaakob for our history. Previously both Malaysia and Indonesia were part of Malay island. We had Champa, our oldest civilization. Our Islamic history were taught by sheikh from Yemen. Not India or Africa or Somalia as mentioned by you. Do correct research before post a video.

Singapore may be the catalyst for the malay muslim ethnoreligious identity, but today we are dominated by secular chinese. I am the descendant of those who stayed throughout british and japanese occupation. The remaining 14% of the native malay muslims in Singapore.
