Yes it would be more cost effective to shoot my load all over my girlfriends face then what would be the point of sex?? "Yes but my ex girlfriend likes sex where I want to spray at"
Love the design. I understand that the mech is humungous and all that, but I totally imagine a scaled down version in a Gundam setting as some mobile armor. Cool work there!
-So, instead of just launching a nuke, we are going to build a giant plane that transports a giant mech. Then we are going to drop the giant mech in one of our cities destroying it and killing thousands of our own civilians and then the mech launches the nuke to a city at the other side of the planet... -Yes... -Ok, we are in
That's not a bad idea, if done right. A capitol/mother mech that can distribute a swarm of smaller mechs across an entire continent or hemisphere in a coordinated attack would be something that would be damned hard to defend against but also incredibly costly to field. You'd need a ton of material resources and personnel to do it, but I could see it working in a Mobile Suit Gundam style war between factions/planets situation. Like, instead of a plane, send a disguised "Mother" mech into a planet's atmosphere in a hot drop, then once "Mother" touches down, she can swarm tactical targets with individual mechs before they can rally a sufficient defense at any of them. The sheer confusion and pressure a faction would be under when all of their key tactical sites were under assault from enemy mechs that really shouldn't have been able to be in orbit, much less on the ground, would be a hell of a thing to watch play out. Definitely more tactically impressive than just dropping a space colony onto a planet.
I meant metal gear is just a conceit so you can fight a cool mecha T-Rex. Also so Kojima can wax on about nuclear arms. The problem I have here is artistic. It is so large that the model loses any sense of scale and thus lacks impact with its surroundings.
Wait...... They build a super gigantic transport plane to drop a gigantic mecha that smash an entire section of the town just to fire a tiny hydrogen warhead missile onto another city continents away? AWESOME!
Now there's a reason why they had a giant mecha launch a nuke instead of simply dropping it via a high altitude bomber. I said there is a reason doesn't mean I have it.
I like that no one here considered the idea that they didn't just drop the mech off on enemy territory then launched the nuke from enemy territory into another enemy as a way to frame an enemy for launching a nuke at them thus causing both enemies to fight each other. I mean I didn't really consider it until I started typing out the dropping the mech on a separate enemy part but hey sometimes pushing down suspension of disbelief helps make creative solutions.
Not enough comments approving and complimenting the mecha design, animation, and visual effects. Most are just criticizing the gigantic size of the mecha and transport.
Imagine being the guy who has to explain why a good portion of the military budget went into building what could be described as an oversized walking missile silo.
Its actually genious, Land on enemy land and fire nuclear missiles from it, that way they can't launch nukes back at it without fucking their own city up
I don't care what anyone else says, having a giant robot that shoots and you got to think that it must have other weapons as well. But that was pretty cool. Ill take three, paint my black.
Indeed. Hell, a Mobile Armor would have sufficed to serve as a nuke launcher. Or simply upgrade the Physalis to be able to shoot multiple nukes, using external data from an EWAC type MS to give him targets

Very very cool, I wish there was a game that basically starts off like the start of the video, with giant mecha larger than several city blocks appearing in one city on a continent or something, and have to destroy the others with super powerful weapons like the one in this video, while protecting themselves, maybe it could even be across a whole solar system (1 mech per world + hard mode artificial space colonies/ringworld locations which are more exposed but also able to target more enemies at once?
