the fact that it was made by students is beyond me, this directing, characters, action and sound design is mind-blowing and phenomenal honestly this 16min episode got me more hyped up for than most mecha shows nowadays.

@@pauloazuela8488 agreed, like one punch man for example it's got an average budget (around $70,000 - $80,000 per episode) but has great animation and as far as I remember no CG characters which is a plus in my opinion.
made by people who have no understanding of physics. when a 50 meter, 500 tons mech moves, it SHOULD NOT F**KING move like a human sized video game character. things needs to have weight and reasonable acceleration (meaning things will "look" slow, like when the space shuttle lifts off). some 3d models and liberal application of overlay effects from Adobe Premier doesn't make this "professional".

It's either computer generated filler frame or just straight up 2,5D animation. The same way nechas are animated in Voltron and, well, almost everything in the new Dragon Price season. It has something uncanny to it, idk...
@@nell2352 definitely algorithmic inbetweening. The smooth movements still jerk between frames, its just that thees a smooth transition between frames now, so definitely automated. Nothing wrong with it, but its not quite in a great place yet
This just appeared in my recommended today and I'm so glad that it did. This blew me away and I need more. Crazy that students did this, it's the best Mecha anime I've seen in a long time.
Holy crap, how is this not an official anime yet!? The animations, the action, the mechs!? This is literally the coolest thing I've ever seen and it was done by college students! Those kids are going places because I am completely hooked in this.
Generally speaking, the only way a project like that is going to succeed is if a bigger studio takes it on. And well, one of the reason anime like this don't do as well is down to production interference. It could lose all the charm it has just because the higher ups in the studio (or worse, the publishers) say they want to take it in another direction. And with the characters being CGI, if the budget for animation is cut, they could become rather lifeless looking.
Oh, and the complexity of that unit at the end would have to be stepped down. You don't get a show like this off the ground without having something to sell, and that looks WAY too complicated to make a figure or model kit of. Too many moving panels.
If you say they need a studio they really need there own studio so they can do this and not being pushed around and all that not stupid studios that work them to the bone And also this is their Passion they love doing anime and they should be able to be free And be able to do the stuff without having problems So when you say these students need a studio you're basically putting them in a spot they should not be in what so ever sorry if what I said don't mean since because I am not really good with words

Not sure how this showed up on my feed, but glad it did. This is pretty damned good. I really like the art style, its a nice mesh of minimalistic style with highly shaded edges and highly detailed action-packed scenes. I'd watch more of this :)

The best CG anime I've ever seen were done by Polygon, and that's because they don't try to emulate 2d anime animation with a CG format. Way too many cg anime try to do that and they fail all the time.

man.. this is better than half the newer Gundam. You can feel the weight and clunkiness of the mecha. The newer stuff is like acrobatics machines.. they don't feel like heavy mechs.
Well, I love the optimistic but the song composter of this series just past away last year ago and they put the hold on the anime for the moment, soo this will take a while :/
Saw this on my recommended list and thought, "huh. I don't remember watching any mecha related content on youtube. Might as well see what this is." I watched from beginning to end. I enjoyed everything from start to end. Can't wait for more.
Just from what we've seen this could easily become the flagship series of an entirely new studio. In addition to being an absolute juggernaut of start to the careers of everyone involved!
This is very good indie project, but for become flagship series is still very far. Even in this animation you can still find dna from aldnoah zero, gundam, sidonia, and the story is not unique or stand out.
a very intriguing story, art, screen play and everything, for a student work this is EXTREMELY impressive , i could never hope to do this single handedly, i hope you graduate with flying colours dude, may your dreams be achievable and you can continue with your Dawn of the Eclipse project
"APFGDS" You have me convinced that the people working on this show love what they're doing. No other sci-fi show pays attention to details like that. I assume it means "Armor Piercing Fin Guided Discarding Sabot" which makes sense for ammnition meant for long range engagements beyond visual range compared to APFSDS or "Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot" I can't wait to see more, this was amazing to watch

ハル機が着陸後にいきなり胸部装甲引っぺがしたの、冒頭でルイとリリーの居る基地が「戦域とは地球の裏側」って説明されてて超遠くにあるから、そこにたどり着くまでに全エネルギーを消費して停止寸前で、停止するとハッチを開く動力も喪失して閉じ込められちゃうから急いで装甲ごとハッチ剥がした（ので機体も完全停止した時バランスを失い倒れこんでる、きちんと降着姿勢とる時間すらもう存在しなかった）んだ、というのとそんな長距離・長時間を操縦してハルも疲労困憊なので機体から出た直後にぶっ倒れたってのを反映した一連の演出と描写の細かさに気づいて感動。
戦闘やメカニックのギミック、インターフェイス等だけじゃなく本当に細かいこういう部分も考えて作られてるのは素晴らしい…。
着陸寸前にハッチ開けなかったのは故障で開かないからかもね。なので引き剥がした。
マジで自主制作とは思えないくらいクオリティ高いですよね
でもそこまで細かいとこまで気づいたあなたも相当すごいですけどね！

短いシークエンスの中に人類側の作戦、敵の正体不明の恐ろしさと人類を滅ぼせる力、人類の力が通用しない絶望、戦線の崩壊と反撃の芽、という流れが無理なく、わざとらしくないのにちゃんと情報が提示されてて映像としてもナラティブとしてもクオリティ高くて素晴らしいです キャラクターも狙いすぎた感じがないのに可愛くかっこよく魅力的
これで終わりにして欲しくないくらいマジでカッコいい

戦闘シーンも綺麗だったし、この絶望感堪らんし、先が見えなくなった状況での仲間との会話とかもとても好きです。ずっと綺麗で夢中でした。仲間のところに戻ってきて、その場で崩れてしまうところとかも、なんとも言えない感情になり泣きました。

ストーリー設定はもとより、戦闘シーンのダイナミックさからリリィの階段を下りるディテールまで、生き生きとした動きにほとばしるものを感じます。何よりこだわりが生きている！

Same here. I'm sad it took seven months to get to my feed, but it was so worth the watch.
Just from what we've seen this could easily become the flagship series of an entirely new studio. In addition to being an absolute juggernaut of start to the careers of everyone involved!
This is very good indie project, but for become flagship series is still very far. Even in this animation you can still find dna from aldnoah zero, gundam, sidonia, and the story is not unique or stand out.
I really liked it, I hope it continues

You have me convinced that the people working on this show love what they're doing. No other sci-fi show pays attention to details like that.
I assume it means "Armor Piercing Fin Guided Discarding Sabot" which makes sense for ammnition meant for long range engagements beyond visual range compared to APFSDS or "Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot"

By the love of god do I want this to be a series. It just scratches that mecha anime itch I've been craving for so long. This is how to hype giant robots up. And it's super sci-fi. It's just asking for a continuation.

The Audio and SFX really detail making all of the scene even more alive .
The rocket thrusters on those suits are so satisfying to see. The way each suit is able to spin around in the air and maneuver is really cool
