OK, Just upgraded to Windows 10. Fixed all my scaling problems. Ribbon bar is good. Feature tree is good. Even had some sort of vertical refresh rate flicker problem that has gone away. I guess it's Windows 10 if you want 4K
For some reason, my ribbon bar in '17 has cut off text. Windows scaling is set to 150%. When using 125% or 100% scaling in windows 7, it is like you mentioned... ridiculously small to work with. I wonder if windows 10 would fix this. Will have to put up with the cutoff text for a while I suppose.

am I the only one who thinks 2016, in this example, looks WAY better than 2017??!! all the new lighting effects transfer over to drawings as well I believe

how do you get the parts to highlight white when you move over them with the cursor? we run inventor 2018 but we only have red. 9:40 for example
Go into tools application options and the colors tab, change the colour scheme to winter night. You'll probably be using Presentation which uses a red highlight.
When will 2017 be available? Also, can you do a tube and pipe video tutorial please?
+adamdude It's available now but only as a standalone product, if you have a Suite it'll not be coming until around April 18th. Basically today was the day they lifted the public speaking embargo about Inventor 2017, I think if you have Inventor on subscription as a standalone product you can get 2017 now, but the Suites don't upgrade until around April 18th.
Regarding T&P, yea that's on the list of things to do however I've not done it in a hurry as there's already some very good resources out there for T&P. Check out cadtipstricks.wordpress.com/category/inventor-tube-pipe/

+adamdude Yea man if your subscription is up to date and paid for, you get 2017 as part of that at no extra cost. I dunno where you've looked but obviously it doesn't just appear itself and self-install on your PC! You have to go into your Autodesk account and if you're named as a contract manager you'll see it there.

Dude I've just realised.. how are you running both versions at the same time?
+Scott Moyse I didn't really do anything... it's fine to run two versions at the same time? I had 2016 already then installed 2017, then just launched them one after the other. You get the usual 'Inventor needs to register with the OS' messaging but they open and seemed to work OK!

+TFI CAD Tips Haha I think that message is referring to which version of the application takes ownership of the file extensions so Windows knows which to launch if you open from a file, but asides from that I've never had a bother with it. Years ago we were always told to not have two versions on a PC but that's an old 'back in the day' story now, for the last 6 or 7 years at least it's been fine to have as many versions on as you want!
What's the name of the song for the intro. I know it's K-391 but what's the title?
+Marcel Robitaille Dammit I need to update that description template! It isn't K-391, I used to use his music until he got too big for his boots and decided to release a wave of copyright strikes on his copyright free music, so I ditched using that and that's when the new intro was made. This song is called 'Invincible' by an artist called 'Deaf Kev'. If you punch that into TH-cam you'll find it easy. I've modified it a little to make it sound more like an intro but that's the song.

+Nick Cradock There wasn't really enough there to make it worthwhile doing a video on, I can do but it's minimal. There's a defer update flat pattern button, direct edit is now supported, some apply buttons here and there, nothing hard hitting and headline worthy though!
