FILM DESCRIPTION:
Ex-FBI agent Will Graham (Edward Norton) is an expert investigator who quit the Bureau after almost losing his life in the process of capturing the elusive Dr. Lecter (Anthony Hopkins). After a series of particularly grisly murders, Graham soon realizes that the best way to catch this killer, known as the Tooth Fairy, is to find a way to get inside the killer's mind. For Graham, that means confronting his past and facing his former nemesis, the now-incarcerated Lecter.

imagine this guy benching at a gym, psyching himself up through the set by screaming "NO GRANDMA!" and "I'LL BE A GOOD BOY!" lol
hahahahahahaha
Ohh nooo
*down with the sickness intensifies*
I'm actually gonna do this now
He probably done this cos in the book he's a bodybuilder in the book
Dollarhyde May have been a looney, but his scrapbooking game was on point
Yes it was.
A psychopath with OCD.
😂😂😂😂
Ikr I’d like him to do my art project for me 😂😂😂
xD
If were being a good boy, you wouldn't be doing all those partial reps would you Francis
You want me to cut your creatine off?!
@@Joao-pe8ur No grandma I'll be a good boy and finish my sets from now on :(
"You bounced off your chest, didn't you Francis? You killed your gains you disgusting little boy."
Wilson Fisk may have been a manipulative, vindictive, psychopathic Mob boss, but at least he did full ROM when he Benched. ;-))
Hahaha yeah
Its satisfying how he perfectly glues the picture in his book
2:05 It's also satisfying how perfectly CUT 🔪✂ those news articles are.. 🤨💡😐🤔
I think he would do great on TikTok with a journal-channel :)
He didn't put it on perfectly, you can see the edge at the bottom sticking out.
They edited in the next frame to make it fit perfectly. Sloppy job imo.

always nice for the evil guy to do evil guy things; like yell weird epithets as he works out, put in evil false teeth, take his special evil book out of its evil safe, do evil scrapbooking, and evilly slash out things in red
I bet he is a frequent masterbator. I'm not projecting. Just my 2 cents.
I didn't even know he was sick
Always nice to have hobbies
@Tony B I wonder if he owns a doghouse
If he didn’t hurt anyone then this would be a fairly productive life. Better than a Discord addiction
He was much, much, much more dangerous than Buffalo Bill.
Maybe he and Buffalo Bill could have formed a support group. They have a LOT in common.
@Logic Police LMAOOO
Mason Verger is much worse than both Dolarhyde and Buffalo Bill.

Gains Goblin
Goddamn you are a funny human bean
Corey 😂
Bro I spat out my water laughing when I saw this comment 😂😂😂
Ralph Fiennes is one amazing actor, from Amon Goeth to Dollarhyde
Thanks for a new alias idea.
@@ElliottsRevenge thanks for the character idea. diaper fetishist that loves serial killer media
Imagine Dolarhyde getting some positive reinforcement by going to an actual gym and people complimenting him on his gainz.
Is that an actual thing?... I'm asking because I'm coming up on 36 in a couple of weeks and 15 years of an office job have been taking their toll. I considered going, but after attending my local gym and realising how fit the guys and girls there already were, I felt like I was ruining their day by being an eyesore basically, so I stopped going.
That was 2 years ago, and after my blood-work this year coming up the way it has, I'm running out of excuses not to go. My last Doc told me I could keep it up and mind my own business, if I was planning on not seeing her again in 10 years :|
@@vtr0104 Yes, people complimenting your physique is an actual thing. I've seen some people straight up ask someone their routine because they like how their deltoids or biceps look. You should definitely hit the gym, bro. The gym rat douchebags that laugh at people trying to better themselves are pretty rare. From my experience almost all the fit dudes at the gym are one of the most polite and wholesome people I've ever met. If you still feel a little embarrassed it's okay, I can bet even the fit people you saw were once embarrassed too. Just wear a hoodie, ignore the other people at the gym, do your sets then leave. You'll feel more comfortable and confident each visit.
@@Get-Fucked Thanks man, much appreciated!!
@@vtr0104 No problem, bro. We're all gonna make it!
I think he'll think everyone is just mocking him, in the book he often get compliments for his amazing physique, comparing him to prime bodybuilders, rugby players or just say he has an great body, but he just ignores it
Oh so when *he* puts a stocking over his head and mutter-screams "NO GRANDMA!!" and "I'LL BE A GOOD BOY!!" while doing reps, it becomes an award-winning movie, but when *I* do it at the rec center everyone _loses their minds~!_ ... Typical!
We know why Voldemort lost his nose now... His grandma cut it off.
You sniffed those powdered Bertie Botts beans, didn't you Tom? You disgusting little Mudblood! I should've put you in Azkaban, Slytherin Heir or not.
Next time I’m benching I’m gonna scream this out ‘NO GRAMMA, I’ll be a good boy’💪😂😂😂
So. Did you?
I am sure you wouldn't have to worry about any one rushing you to get through set to use the Bench.
Only works along with the requisute head stocking and dentures.
It actually makes me sad to hear the boy upset ): over his grandma hurting him.
It's honestly genius how they transition seamlessly from the young boy's voice to the man's.
yeah we're all on young Francis' side .... but,... how do we know it wasn't a poo?
Francis 'Dirty protest' Dollarhyde.
Silence of the Lambs might be the better movie, but Red Dragon had the better villain.
Definitely agree.
OK, but Bill didn't get much backstory or screen time.
A Bill prequel mini-series would be easy to write, and entertaining, but probably not well received by certain histrionic demographics.
Watch Manhunter 1986 it's the original Red Dragon
In fairness Francis Dolarhyde gets a lot more screen time than Jame Gumb. But I find the latter to be far more sympathetic given how utterly broken he is, and given how he retained a shred of humanity even despite the horrible things he did
@@AyKraxI know I’m months late but I remember watching manhunter as a kid and being absolutely terrified of the killer. He was tall, lanky, pale, and just looked creepy as hell. I do feel like red dragon handled the climax ending scene a little better than manhunt. Seeing him get shot in the face like that shocked me as younger lad.
Home gym master race confirmed.
the moral is simple : " half reps on bench press make psychopaths"
I'm the only one that appreciates this comment
@morganboykin1159 same here
I don't know how, but I don't have any bad memories and trauma about my grandma, she is nice and still alive, but I tried grunting "no grandma" , "I will be a good boy" when benchpress and I could do 2 more reps than usual
That’s terrifying
Dude she sounds like Butters’ grandma from South Park hahahahaha
AzoRonics bro that’s exactly what I was thinking
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂damn you
YES
She kinda sounds like Cruella DeVill
She is the mother from Requiem for a dream...
It seems like all the horror movie villains live in scary, run-down Gothic mansions and/or have large, labyrinth basements.
Or attic, in this case.
I wish I had a large labyrinth basement.
I wouldn't say all of them. Michael Myers house wasn't gothic nor a huge mansion, just an average suburban home. Plus, Dolarhyde's house is actually a retirement home for old folks as I recall when before the viewing of the house, at the entrance of the property the wall of the gate in the beginning of this scene showed a sign that has his last name on it stating it was an old folks home.
@@jawz8966 In the book, it explains that it was once the grand mansion belonging to his grandparents, but when they fell on hard times financially, they turned it into a boarding house for senior citizens.
Fun Fact: The voice of Grandma is voiced by Ellen Burstyn, best knowm for playing as Chris MacNeil in the Famous 1973 horror film, The Exorcist
Ralph Fiennes said that he would never do a role like this again.
This is Ralph's finest hour for sure, incredible performance and this movie is a masterpiece, infinitely better than the boring original manhunter.
Man hunter is amazing. Still, this movie is decent too
@@ИванОлейник-х4я I love the ending credit song in manhunter, heartbeat by red7, a masterpiece.
@@Pingaheimer Have you seen the show? Hannibal. Amazing performances.
@@dpeace99 The first two seasons are good but the third is boring and awful. Also the actor who played Will Graham was unbearable. He made Will into a edgy Emo/Goth kid.
Anyone else notice that old lady talking is butters grandma from South Park it’s funny that she’s even playing an abusive grandma in this movie.
Sara Goldfarb ? :p
Yes I did noticed too.
You're so beautiful ❤
We always knew she was an evil, abusive witch.
I just found Tom Noonan's gentle, well mannered performance in Manhunter infinitely creepier.
_"If you don't open your eyes, I'll staple your eyelids to your forehead."_
Shudder.
a line from the book directly. noonan was nothing like the dragon described in writing
I like the added touch of the picture at 0:21. A child standing alone covering his mouth with the grandmother distancing herself in the photo.
This is pro bodybuilder life. Set - emotional pain - scrapbook - lipstick - set - more pain. That is how you grow the muscles!
255lbs is significant weight to bench press in reps!
James Poledna things lifters notice in films 😁
Lol
At least 5 reps using a crude hypoxic mask
@@davidokinsky114 a true pioneer

He’s wonderful at scrapbooking!
The Red Dragon book was one of novel was my favourite. Each chapter alternated between Francis telling his story, and Will telling his. You actually are torn because you develop a great empathy for the villain. The book did make his grandmother out to be a tyrant but loving towards him at the same time.
Yeah. I just read the book last week and loved it. I loved how Thomas Harris was able to convey Francis as a beast of a man becoming the Dragon.
I wish the movie expanded on Francis' grandmother as much as the book did:
In the book his grandmother only took him in and raised him to use him as a weapon, Francis' mother was married to some political figure who was running for some sort of election. His grandmother sees how horrifying he looks with his hair lip and cleft pallet and takes him in, abuses him, and eventually parades him in front of his mother at a campaign as a bastard and a freak.
When his grandmother becomes to ill to take care of him he moves back in with his mother where the entire family then abuse and humiliate him.
He's a monster but by the end of it I couldn't help but feel sorry for him, he was just broken.
Jim Russels yes I’m reading it now. It’s a very good book and goes into a lot more depth (as books typically do vs movies) :)
Most movie monsters are born out of abuse and mistreatment.
A case of not a monster born but a monster created by circumstances
Jim Russels the kid kills ppl it was his choice
Behind every bully is a bigger bully
Dollarhyde was such a good and disturbing villain
That scrapbook is a great work of art.
Voldemort's secret hobby: working out with muggle gym equipments and weights.
Dolarhyde has the makings of a varsity athlete
What's the matter with you, uncle June??
I think in this part the life of Ed Gein and his domineering mother was embodied .
This book was several times as horrifying even than silence of the lambs
This is my workout routine and man does it get alot of weird looks.
That's a lovely book he's put together
Here’s a detail I never noticed Before: if you look at the scrapbook sideways, you’ll notice half of the pages look loose and worn out while the other half is more stiff and smooth. It shows how much the scrapbook gives you so far. With it being just a A proper book that we don’t see very often, they didn’t need to do that. So, I think it’s a very good detail.
These movies often reference Francis Bacon paintings. 1:26 - this moment references his painting "three studies at the base of a crucifixion", in particular the middle panel.
1:25 me after eating the food in the fridge I wasn't supposed to
Lmao 😂😂
Anyone else find this movie hilarious? Don’t get me wrong, I love it.
I thought the same while watching the movie tbh
Its kinda sweet that he fangirls over lecter
bruh mad natty gains
how it felt working out with a mask at the gym during covid
Voldemort sure can lift lol
If I was managing a gym and some one did this Id hide underneath the desk in the office
Grandma remind me the granny in flowers in the attic
He has a pretty cool place
Butters' grandma.
Its time Mrs dolarhyde met Chaos
same voice nice call
Absolutely! Butters' scumbag grandma is my most evil, hated character on South Park. She gives Eric Cartman a run for his money for being the most evil, clinical psychopath I've seen on that show!
I’m spoiled by Mads’s Hannibal but Fiennes is a terrific actor.
W-what? Fiennes isn't Hannibal. That'd be Anthony Hopkins, and he is THE Hannibal. Mikkelsen is an afterthought in comparison; though also remarkably good, Hopkins is just *perfect*.
@@JakeGittes84 I didn’t say he was, but he was good in the movie as Francis.
This scene gave me chills.
01:24 The Dark Lord has come back
Most well-adapted gym bro:
All these years later I realize Grandma's voiced by Ellen Burstyn.
He already looks like Voldemort 😂
Bruh i wish i had scrapbooking skills like that
This is the backstory that was in the book and was missing from Manhunter, and it shows how Francis became the monster he was.
Is the grandma talking about castrate her grandson
You can really tell its Danny Elfman here. Very reminiscent to Spider-Man or Hulk.
I disagree. The RED DRAGON score is very Hitchcockian and very Bernard Herrmann who wrote the score for Hitchcock's film PSYCHO.
Elfman's compositional and arrangement style is very distinctive, although not unlike Jerry Goldsmith in approach.
Anyone notice the crew member in the mirror reflection at 1:00
Nice spot
1:42 I'm the great Red Dragon.
No I'm the great tuity fruity
"I pledge you my word I will cut it off!" Interesting. So that's how Lord Voldemort lost his nose
As good as Split was, you can tell they really did just rip off Dolarhyde's whole story when coming up with Kevin Wendell Crumb. Only unlike the Great Red Dragon, the Beast actually did have superpowers.
split was decent, glass was TERRIBLE
@@Pingaheimer ...lol funny how that trilogy started great and just went downhill.
Just me at the gym getting swole screaming "No grandma!"
Did some math and it looks like on the bar is a 45,35,and 25 in that order and added up singularly it comes to 105.When adding in the other it comes to 210 then finally adding the bar which weighs 45 pounds comes to a neat total of 255 pounds…a impressive bench press
Seeing Francis take the girl to see a tiger made me feel torn for a short while. He was a monster but he truly cared for her.
Manhunter may have been a superior movie to Red Dragon in general (at least in my opinion), but Francis Dollarhyde was a much better developed character in this movie.
Weird how the real life equivalent of this guy, Ed Kemper, is the nicest guy you'll ever meet in prison.
I had a foster parent who constantly threatened to put me in an orphanage. Today I wish I would have just let her.
They should've put Ellen Burstyn on the screen to act out the bathroom scene. She would've knocked it out of the park.
Her: Hey how was your weekend? Did you do anything fun??
Me: Ah nah, just the usual hahaha.
The usual 0:44
Nice to see that Jordan Peterson still gets his reps in between writing his chapters.
Oh god. A bernie bro.
With each Word the grandma was saying.... Little did she know, she was Creating A Monster! Tut Tut
Reminds me of the Grinch 🤣
Love how he only glued the edges of his clippings… no need for the Pritt-stick Union Jack.
The real killer in this movie was his grandma
I havnt seen the movie bc of the kids during the war. Can't bear it. Horrifying and heartbreaking
I think Francis has too much time on his hands...
Think those were the same false teeth they used for vodamort
You'd get an A at GCSE for that sketchbook
No joke not a huge departure from my local planet fitness
My dude getting those gains!
He is literally me
Tbh the average lifter probably has worse things than this running through their heads to psyche themselves up for a lift 😂
Cut it off?!!!!!! 😨 No pain no gain! 💪😱
Dolarhyde never was grateful for being a videostore employee who owns a mansion. I'd never be a serial killer while owning a mansion.
that mansion was inherited from his evil grandma
the older lady talking is totally the woman who voices butters grandma from south park
Voldemort as a serial killer why I never.
Disclaimer: Huge fan of Schindler's List here, I know full well Fiennes has been in other stuff.
0:22 throwback to "100 Greatest Shut Ups in Films"
Also the grandma is Ellen Burstyn.
And the grandson is Alex d lenz
good storytelling
I haven't read the book but I could almost see the director's note 'psycho house...I want the interior of it, I'll use different angles but that is what I want!'
He has excellent taste in barbells, very good knurling, Mark Rippetoe would approve.
I watch this before I Max out.
In the scrapbook, There's a picture of a dead guy with coins on his eyes. That same picture used to scare the hell outta me as a kid
He got a mean scrap book game
