TRIP REPORT - Heathrow to Chicago O'Hare - American 787

Hello and welcome aboard this American Airlines 787-8 Dreamliner!
Join me as I head off to the States for the new year, flying between London's Heathrow airport and the famous Chicago O'Hare, Americans hub in the mid-west.
I very much enjoyed my time on board my first Dreamliner. The cabin seemed open and spacious and the large windows provided a great view. The only let down I had with the aircraft was when the attendants dimmed everyone's windows remotely, plunging the cabin into nighttime. Whilst I don't keep my window open all flight, I do enjoy being able to look out once in a while and take in my surroundings. This wasn't possible for the majority of the flight, and any onboard flying was made a lot harder!
The leg room was a little cramped but luckily for me, the middle seat was open (the cabin is made up in a 3-3-3 layout) So I had a little more room to stretch out.
The service was good, the flight included what seemed like an endless supply of drinks runs and the food was of good quality for an economy flight!
It's good to see American modernize the route from the older 767, and I'd recommend the plane, airline, and route to anyone traveling Stateside in the near future!

I did London to Chicago and it was the best thing I've done in my life. A380 there and a 787 dreamliner on the way back :D

You mentioned seat layout as 3-4-3. As far as I know, 787 layouts are 3-3-3. Did that change recently?

No that was my bad, you're right, the layout is 3-3-3

Read the screen at 20:44. It was too dark to record but there was another light meal before landing.
