  • Hello and welcome to an overdue trip report!
Been a bit quiet on the upload side of things with uni hand-ins, but here's the promised 747 video!
Join me as I made another hop across the pond in late January onboard British Airways and their retrofitted Queen of the skies!
Over-all I really enjoyed this flight and everything seemed to go smoothly. A big plus always comes up when the middle seat is free, and all my worries about the slightly tight leg room vanished when my neighbor on the aisle told me his wife wouldn't be joining the flight.
As always at DFW, the departure was busy and the taxi took us past the evening rush.
Due to the nature of this flight being flown 90% in the dark, I wasn't able to record much by way of the food served to us on the flight, but I must say its better than what I've come to expect with BA economy class. The main was served just over an hour outside of DFW, the choice was between pasta and chicken. My pasta was somewhat tasty and well heated in the middle, but with a lot of airline foods, the edges were a little crisp and tasteless from steaming. The meal was served with the usual suspects, salad, bread, cheese and a small cheesecake pudding.
Midway through the flight, snacks were brought around which consisted of a small ice cream which was a nice refresher, but I feel they could have done a few more water runs through the cabin.
An hour outside of London, I was surprised to be handed a little breakfast box containing a ham bagel served with a drink. This was a nice touch especially after previous flights which only offered breakfast bars and granola as 'breakfast'.
The flight really breezed by, which is a sure sign that the airline is doing its job in terms of comfort. I'm not sure the story would have been the same if I was crammed against the window with someone in the middle, but I can only comment on what happened.
After landing there was a mishap which must have screwed a few peoples connections over. After arriving on time, due to the cold temperatures in London, the two jetbridges at T5's remote terminal wouldn't budge leaving us stranded onboard. This fiasco ended up taking nearly an hour to resolve and was clearly a cause for a lot of embarrassment for the flight crew and stewards onboard who apologized profusely. It's unfair to blame BA for this issue, and the way they handled the problem was exemplary so I'll add it to their score which finished at 8/10.
Hopefully, I'll get back to some more regular trip reports over the summer, be sure to stick around for the A380 Syd-Dfw report as well as a return trip to Iceland with Easyjet!
Don't hesitate in leaving any comments, and feel free to subscribe!

Very nice report. The same thing happened to the jet bridge but it was in Houston coming from Frankfurt, on Lufthansa we couldn't unload the A380 I was on, but I don't think it was due to the cold. :) I am heading to SYD Monday, that going to be a great flight and trip.

It's not a trip report if you can't even manage a decent glimpse of the cabin layout and of meals you were served, or at least, in case you weren't hungry, the menu of what was on offer.

This guy said the flight is 10 hours I just took it 2 days ago and it takes 8 hours what a liar

If you had any brain cells at all you'd know there's a thing called wind and it can change on a minute by minute basis, therefore changing the length of a flight. Please use your head before insulting someone, what would I have to gain from saying my flight was longer than it really was? Seriously....

The Flying Kiwi Excellent response. Nothing worse than ignorance and it isn’t called out enough in this world. I used to fly ORD-LHR frequently and one time the jet stream was very powerful. We made it in just over 6 hours, which is impressive. However, it made for a long flight back to ORD flying west. I guess he’d call me a liar too.

Then I suppose the airlines are liars too, according to your logic. AA says 9 hours 5 minutes but in reality it’s 8 hours 20-something. Look at the big picture before making a judgement.
