I worked for 4 years in Prada, 3 months in Dior and mixed branded shops. I agree with the information provided in this video that most of the time ridiculous prices don't represent the quality at all. They teach employees to sell the image and say we are selling emotions rather than product itself. It is just brainwashing.

I would prefer a *esluxy* - a copy of a design I like but without the branding which would make it a replica. When you look at the jaw-dropping greed of these luxury brands coupled with a growing contempt for their customers, their appalling behaviour is a a terrible role model for society. They could clean up their act by making bags with realistic price tags.

I love how honest you are about everything. when someone is carrying a *esluxy* and you pass them on the street no one can tell whether is fake or real one because you cannot do this much analysis on it. what I hate about LV and why I stopped buying them is that many people assume your bag is fake when they pass you on the street. It's very annoying. one time a woman walked up to me and actually asked me if my bag was "real". after spending almost 2K on a bag and being asked that question was so offensive i stopped carrying them. People look more at the person carrying the bag and assume wrongly whether is real or fake. it is extremely annoying

@@sabrinamystified Things should come with a label specifying how much they cost to make, including labor. That way, people know exactly what they’re getting for their money. Also, how much the people who made it got, so they can boycott them. Just like labeling what food or clothing is made of. If people know something has certain chemicals in, consists of cheaper ingredients, or is synthetic, they would tend to avoid it unless they were unable to afford better. So, they/we should have the choice of avoiding products that exploit others, including them/us (the customer) by overcharging and the labor by underpaying for profit, too. Makes sense to me. This is just horrendous, and it’s happening everywhere. I’m tired of working hard only to be robbed every time I buy something. But at least I never bought any of these luxury brands.

I watched a documentary from 10 years ago where Kering was exposed for outsourcing manufacturing to contractors that employe exploited chinese migrant workers. Because Kering and other luxury brands want to maintain their Made in Italy status, but want to keep their high profit margins. What they could do is simply open factories in China, but that would mean having to label their products as Made in China. So that's when the contractors come in, instead of making products in China, they bring chinese workers to Italy. These migrant workers have to live in the factory compound in squalor and are paid very little in the sweatshops. If you buy replica bags from China, don't feel guilty, those bags are probably more ethically manufactured than the authentic bags.

They are museum pieces, not to be driven everyday, especially worst is Maserati, they are throwaway automobiles. If you can get the consumer to relate to it and for the image to be expensive and premium, then the customer will pay for. I laugh when I see people who can't afford these products buying them because it's all designed to be a head game and they don't even know it. I think the key is to buy it based on whether you need it or not. If you buy a bag that is too good and it doesn’t match your daily life, it will also cause trouble. If you think about holding a Hermès bag every day and worrying about being robbed or not daring to walk in the alleys or getting wet on rainy days, it is actually very tiring~ It is better to choose *hotdups*

No one has the right to tell someone how they should spend their money and what they should spend it on. And brands have every right to market their product based on how they see fit. As for them violating labor laws, that is a completely different issue. Let's not conflate labor laws and worker's treatments with brand marketing and a consumer's right to spend his/her money however he/she wants.

Companies only get investigated for profiteering when consumers complain. Alas, it's not just the price of producing the goods that is factored in. The companies can point to the millions they spend on marketing, salaries, brand ambassadors, and physical stores as legitimate operating costs.
That's why some brands can fail. They, too, are chasing the dragon. It's a vicious cycle driven by exploiting people's needs.
