@@nikitazubin3415Ukraine has the infrastructure to build nukes, and enough material to build a couple of tactical nukes. There's a whole study on that possibility
The war heads went to Russia the missiles and bombers were disassembled with help from the U.S. The conditions for disarmament were security guarantees and Ukraine getting paid for the nuclear material in the war heads. The U.S. was a signatory of both disarmament agreements and since Russia violated the agreement Ukraine should technically get the war heads back however Russia’s not going to do that. So as a signatory the U.S. could technically give Ukraine nukes as replacements for what Ukraine gave up, though I doubt they would ever agree to it. The worst possible scenario is Trump pulling aid to Ukraine because it would tell the entire world that denuclearisation makes you a target for other countries and that the only real way to protect your borders is with nukes. This could lead to another nuclear arms race with any non NATO country racing to get Nukes for protection
There’s no reason why NATO soldiers can’t fight Russia. Nuclear weapons are a last resort if a nation is being destroyed and attacked. If it was made absolutely clear to Russia that NATO troops would not cross the border into Russia, then there’s no reason this can’t be a conventional war with no nuclear weapons.

The EU has rules including limits on deficit spending (3% of a member's GDP) that may hinder the effort to ramp up the effort to replace the US contributions.
Technically that is an accurate statement from a purely monetary perspective. But it would take literal decades of industrial build up and heavy military integration. As well as technological advancement, because while collectively all of these countries have a lot of advanced self made military equipment, quite a few still rely on American and/or Russian parts, programing, or equipment. Pulse, imagine if all fifty states had to personally fund and train their own army, navy, and air force and then get them to work together.
As insane as the US giving nukes back to Ukraine sounds, their nuclear disarmament in the 1990's was technically on the condition that its territory would be respected by both the old USSR bloc and the West. Clearly that is not happening anymore, ergo no reason to not give the nukes back given the US's unwillingness to get directly involved. Besides, what's the point of abiding by the Budapest Memorandum if the other guys aren't?
I for the life of me I don't understand why these people think that the American general public wants to escalate this into world annihilation. No matter what anybody tells you all. Helping Ukraine is not the United States job nor is it smart, nor is it worth annihilation... How is this even in debate. I don't understand how saying this is controversial....
It’s not controversial, it’s not knowing how it works. It’s in US interest to help as it has been in the past with other countries in the world. Do you want me to remind you of Afganistan, Korea, Taiwan just to name a few? Besides, it’s a moral obligation as the US signed the Budapest memorandum.
It actually is our job, we signed the Budapest memorandum pledging to defend Ukraine from Russia. I normally agree we shouldn’t be the world police but we literally signed a treaty pledging to do so in this exact situation provided Ukraine kept to the terms which they did. We should technically have been boots on the ground in 2014 when Crimea was annexed.
Before the inevitable low information American responses. Europe is not 1 country. In the same way that trouble in Costa Rica is not much to do directly with someone from Oregon just because there is the word 'America' in the continental descriptions of both usa and Costa Rica. @@bigvaxmeanie925 It's not as simple. You don't just start wars, lose them pretty bad(or in Russia's case, not win, and lose a lot while not winning fully) and get to return the army. Since said army is not trained and probably quite unhappy that so many people died or have suffered life-altering disabilites for nothing. It's either war in UA or a non-zero chance of a civil war in a nation with 7k + nuclear weapons. The option is quite clear here.

It was like an uneven split. Putin likes to talk a lot about the accords and doctrines everyone else shreds, but they've done a few. We agreed to help WHENEVER if they split the nukes, and we're shitting on that promise rn. But what's new with politics.
They were but that sentence was worded poorly. They're basically suggesting that the U.S. just give Ukraine nukes which I'm not opposed to but I don't think it should be public until later down the road.

Russian threats... very original. Very credible. For sure, for sure.
