I mean, it was explained why he is like that (and honestly, Geddo himself is the villain of this flick).
Cell technically could have trained and kept getting stronger and stronger, having the saiyan cells and friezas cells his power could have had really no limits. We see how far goku and vegeta have gone , and look a frieza now. Cell had all of thier dna. Which tells me he had the most potential out of all characters in dbz
And he had Namekian regeneration thanks to Piccolo's cells. He could get those Saiyan powerups in a fraction of the time.

The reason I suspect android 18 got stronger is that the limitless energy stamina thing just over time works like a passive EXP bonus. She does not have to train, but will constantly have passive growth. Her brother 17 on the other hand took the time to learn to master his powers and energy so he had actual growth. I think that is what Gero feared from them. That they over time would just keep getting stronger even if they did nothing.

It always perplexed me if Dr. Gero was going to turn himself into an android anyway, why he didn’t just make himself an infinite energy model like 17 & 18 instead of an absorption model. He could’ve built himself to be the strongest of them all, but instead gave all that power to the two that ultimately ended up killing him. I suppose he’s more a scientist than a fighter, but him being one of the most brilliant minds on earth, you’d think he would’ve thought of that.
I always assumed he turned himself into an android before he had the advanced technology that he used with 17 and 18
I thought it was because he saw how much stronger Goku got each time he showed up. He was worried the perpetual energy models might eventually get outclassed, whereas he could always absorb however much the Z fighters got.
Probably because Toriyama was pressured into making new android characters that were better than a "fat clown and old man." Then 17 and 18 had to be brushed aside because "they weren't scary enough."
I think Gero grew more powerful the more energy he absorbed so maybe he wanted to grow more powerful without needing to train? Idk lmao.
@@kyleellis1825 True. Even though it wasn’t a thing at the time, now we see that 17 actually got a lot stronger in Super just by some light training which is still stupid that he’s on SS Blue level. So their power isn’t set, they actually can grow stronger. BUT that wasn’t actually a concept in the original DBZ.
Technically Super 17 is the strongest Android in entire Dragon Ball multiverse, because of his mechanism he has limitless absorbing ability that allows him to absorb energy AND kinetic force from punches (which means that punching him makes him stronger and doesn't actually do any damage), his only flaw is he cannot absorb both at the same time and that doomed him, but otherwise he's the most dangerous and strongest Android ever, because he's absorbing ability is supposed to be limitless

With the Cell Jr thing, I believe it was stated that each Cell Jr had an equal power level to Cell at that time, however they are less durable than Cell which is probably how ssj2 Gohan managed to rip off various body parts.
Wouldnt their durability be higher because they use the same amount of power to protect a smaller surface area?

Super Android 13 had phenomenal animation.Better fight scenes than anything in DBS.
You could just say that the return of cooler took place during the 3 year time skip for androids.so that way it would make sense for goku and vegeta to be stronger since it would be before piccolo fused kami.
But Dende was the guardian of Earth, which could only be the case after Piccolo fused with Kami

@@dtuck333 actually during the Android saga goku never saw vegeta as a super saiyan.during the Android saga when vegeta saved goku from 19 goku was already unconscious from the heart virus and his fight with 19.Then when goku wakes up he already wants to go to the next level of super saiyan and goku even says that vegeta was gonna do it.that implies that goku was already aware of vegeta going super saiyan.Also in return of cooler goku was the ONLY one who saw vegeta as a super saiyan.Gohan,piccolo,krillin ETC we’re never around vegeta so it makes sense why there surprised.

It doesn't line up perfectly with either time, but much more lines up with between Kami & Piccolo fusing & the Hyperbolic Time Chamber training
I always loved android 8 and android 16s dynamic with their respective sayians. 8 tought goku to show mercy and hold your punch while 16 taught Gohan to stop holding back
It's important to note that most of the old movies were created as promotions for the show at conventions and anime expos. That's why a lot of the movies mirror the show in villian design and major events. They were meant to get people interested and excited for the manga/anime in an era without internet.
Most movies also came out in much different time periods than people think. Like 1st cooler movie was released while Goku was fighting Frieza on namek in the anime(So Frieza wasn't even defeated yet but they released a movie that said Goku defeated Frieza and returned back to earth) and even in the manga hasn't returned from Yardrat yet(So they didn't even know about Trunks and King Cold). ON TOP OF THAT Takao Koyama said movie begun production 6 month before release so by that point they had no idea about things like buff 100% Frieza because by that point it wasn't a thing even in the manga.
Most people don't know any of this and say so many outlandish things about the movie because of that.

Gohan destroyed all the cell jr’s that’s why I hate dbs. I doubt cell was shitting out cell jr’s when he was waiting for the day of the tournament. Dbs anime is just dogshit. Imo I feel like Akira toriyama has nothing to do with the anime there is no proof imo while with the manga they show his correction with the art. Which imo the dbs manga is more canon then the god awful anime where goku needed Ui to beat kefla which is a combination of 2 weak low level saiyans.

@@toybirdy Kefla is literally a fusion of a ssj2 and a controlled berserk which is probably above ssj3 level. When you consider that ssj Vegito was already like 10 times stronger than ssj3 goku it very much makes sense. I hate the manga version where ultimate Gohan is equal to her, like fusion is pretty much the most powerful thing in the series and Gohan who trained for 5min after not training for years was as strong as her. Also UI still bodied Kefla, it's not like it was close.
@@toybirdy Well… Kale by herself was giving SSB Goku fits. I wouldn’t say they were weak. The Manga is the place where the Cell Jrs exist, I don’t think they made an anime appearance. Them being alive sorta makes sense, they do regenerate at the cellular level and Gohan mostly just karate chopped them so hard they exploded. Hate it or not, DBS is the canon series following DBZ (technically following the end of Kid Buu arc and right before the introduction of Uub). Some of DBS is cool. Like I like Hit a lot. And the Moro arc in the manga was great. Lots of potential. But I get what your saying.

Always enjoy watching dragon ball when the red ribbon army was in it. They weren't my favourite villains but they had something about them that really stood out. Obviously Toriyama felt the same. I hope this isn't the last time we see them android 16.super 17 and even android 13 would fit In the new series

In the manga, Major Metallitron/Sergeant Metallic don't have veins like we saw here, it's filler and adaptation to make the episode longer. And for android 8 i always imagined he was some sort of human dead body brought back to life like frankenstein creature (as he is resurected in buu saga.) i think except anime filler a good indication of mechanical or organic based android (cyborg in fact) are veins. I take exemple on #13 who can has veins and can increase is muscle mass so is organic like #17 and #18 unlike #14 #15 #16 and #19 who are fully androids/artifificials. Gero/#20 is different because beside his brain his body is fully mechanical, he is paradoxally the most cybernetised of all.
ok i see what your saying abought android 8 i though the same thing , Also android 17 and 18 age much slower then a normal human , apart from their cybernetic enhancements their human biology was modify to age much slower and they heal from wounds and damage faster than a normal human. like when cell was beating up 17 really bad. he kept getting back up.

Its why I'm hoping we get a cannon 21 that is more mixed in (my idea was a xenobiologist who thought Gero had left the RR but was caught up in the infinite android project (maybe an early attempt that escaped thanks to a lack of mind scrubbing like 17 and 18) who proceeds to just continue her research while upgrading her body with Piccalo's many lost limbs and possibly having convinced Satan to allow her to do a little research into Majin physiology likely ending with her having to split from her evil half using spirit diffusion but leaving her intact this time to act as a mother figure to Gamma and possibly even 17 and 18)
Cell Max is the strongest by a landslide. OG Cell has the most potential.
If Cell had bothered to actually train, then just think about whose DNA he has. Frieza, Goku, Vegeta. Even ignoring Goku and Vegeta, Frieza gained godlike powers in 4 months of training, and then could stomp UI Goku and UE Vegeta after training more. And Cell can use all of their powers and potential together. Just imagine how strong he could become if Cell were ever revived in Super. Scary thought

Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks were taking on 13(regular),14, and 15 in their base forms for a while, yet they used super saiyan against 19 right away. This couldn't have been after the time chamber either because Gohan wasn't a super saiyan yet.

Apparently he trained with reformed Cell Jrs that Gohan didn't kill in the manga. Cell is pretty strong so realisticly, he could have trained with them until he could take on all 6 at once

My only logical reasoning as to why 17 could scale to SSB Goku is that he found a way to harness his unlimited energy supply and compress it into a more potent output, similar to how SSB Goku refines his chi control. That's my head canon anyway.

I was bothered by a lot of characters who we never really saw train suddenly be keeping up in the ToP.
How did master roshi reach that level? Don't get me wrong...I love the clip of him with his Kamehameha.
Where you also bothered when Vegeta, the king of off-screen power ups, got all his magical upgrades too? because he is the one character that *consistently* got asspull powerups every season, and y'all ate that up everytime.
If Vegeta can get wrecked by Zarbon, and then be miles above Frieza THE NEXT SEASON (by the power of full off-screen training), then you should be ok with Roshi learning U.I. in the manga, lol.

I mean 14 and 15 should be WAY stronger than 19 or 20. Piccolo stomped 20 and he really shouldn't have been as strong as base Goku at the time, but 14 and 15 put up decent competition vs ssj Vegeta and Trunks.

There's no way 73 is weaker than 17 and 18. 73 swapped hands with gohan who was equal to Kefla prior and then trained to prep for morro afterward. Even kale dominated blue level fighters like golden frieza so Kefla would be far beyond blue level, enough so that jiren and goku had to stop their fight because they saw Kefla as a threat. Manga 17 does not compare to gohan in any way. Ssj3 goku was enough to handle 17 prior to the tournament. Manga gohan is even stated to be the strongest fighter on the planet since goku and vegeta are gone.
The entire androids saga is just Terminator 2 Judgment Day. Goku’s return from yardrat was published a week after the film’s release. Trunks is just dragon ball’s John Connor.

If I am being honest, I don't think Android 18 ever surpassed Cell at his strongest. There's just no real evidence, especially since she's never really been in fights between her tournament fight with Goten and Trunks, and her fights in the tournament of power. Her fight with Beerus really isn't a fight. Even her fighting alongside 17 demonstrates more of their teamwork rather than their individual strength. 17 is clearly stronger than 18 by a decent amount. 18 is even shown working well with Krillin, despite being stronger than him. Aside from that, I think this list might be accurate. Although, I do think that super android 13 might be stronger than android 16.
Agreed. 18 was probably somewhat stronger than Semi-perfect Cell, but not close to perfect by a fair margin by the time of the ToP. The only time we see her train is in the Buu saga before the tournament (that kick-starts the entire Buu saga) and learning of the tournament of power and realising she and Krillin would be picked, hence their need to train.
17 on the other hand has been constantly active since acquiring the job of a park ranger, thus his body is accumulated to frequent changes and responses giving him far more "passive" training than 18 has (flying, using Ki, keeping the animals safe etc.)
@@drunkdrag0n It probably depends on which media you go by though. I only watched Super once, but didn't 18 divert Goku Blue's Kamehameha when she seen Krillin struggling in his sparring match with Goku.
Though Super is all over the place, hell SSJ Trunks when raged out became stronger than Blue Goku & Vegeta in the anime.
However there is a scene in the Buu arc (though I don't know if it's filler or not) that does show Krillin and 18 sparring, indicating that while she may not spend waking minute training like Goku and Vegeta, she and Krillin could of been doing some light sparring off sceen, which could of boosted their power over time.
So it's not impossible 18 grew in power like 17 did.

I like to think 19 and 20 could easily become the strongest if they absorbed enough energy. Otherwise, why would Gero turn himself into a weak android?
I think it was explained somewhere that he wasn't able to control the perpetual energy android form all that well, or something.
Android 17’s strength makes perfect sense to me. In the Android saga with presumably no training he was far stronger than Frieza. Characters like Goku and Piccolo had to train their entire lives to that point to reach the level of strength 17 had naturally with no work. When Frieza finally trained he reached Super Saiyan Blue levels. If 17 also trained, it’s only logical he would also become that powerful. And of course since he’s a cyborg not a true android he could get stronger. As a side note, if Cell had the chance to train I wouldn’t be surprised if he could reach Jiren levels of power.
