@@randpamadventures8374 Oh that's no fun. We wanted to go to cali to see some of my wife's family but the fired are kinda detouring us so that may have to wait. Stay safe!
Yeah everything in the camper is LED. And I've tried the fuse pulling deal and testing on the battery where the draw is coming from with no avail, I may just have batteries that are getting weak.
Get yourself a Kill-A-Watt usage meter to figure out what your appliances are eating up in power. That hair straightener is probably a serious amp killer. If you have an onboard inverter, turn it off when you're not using it, or it will continue to draw at least some power. Unplug chargers and other appliances when not in use. Their power adapters draw amps even when not being used. If you're using your battery for your fridge, switch over to propane instead. Switch out any standard light bulbs to LEDs. If none of this helps then you may just have weak batteries that aren't holding their charge. It happens.
I'll have to look into that kill-a-watt meter. Been checking the voltage out put through the battery won the negative side disconnected and it does have a constant 1 amp draw even with everything turned off and unplugged. The radio clock always stays on can't turn it off, unless I disconnect the battery, and the fridge is on propane but has to use power just for the thermostat part of it. So I guess just those two things may be having a Small draw on the batteries. But the batteries are from 2017 and suppose to be good for 5-7 years. But could just be wearing out.
Wow, beautiful view from those rocks, so jealous! I hope that your NL is treating you well now that you're out there in it. We love camping beside rivers and water too, the sound of a stream or river is so relaxing. I may have missed it but what are the temps where you guys are? I will be sure to continue to share your videos on our channel, it's always fun to see how others with truck campers camp especially now that you're full-time and it gives us something to aspire to. ~Carla
We're actually in idaho already, were ahead on videos haha. But high of 60 today here with this cold front that came in At 4700 feet. In colorado we were in the 80's mostly and some days 90's it went from being kinda hot to cold quick haha. And we appreciate you sharing our video, that's awesome! Will have to return the favor even though we aren't as big as you guys yet haha.
Thank you! There's plenty more to come. I love this set up. It's about as close to perfect as I think I could of gotten. Haven't had any issues this far, but it's still a camper something will arise haha. But fingers crossed it doesn't.
New subscriber here 🙌🏼. Cool setup. Always interesting to see the where you can go with a truck camper. We have a TT and no way we could get into a spot like that.
Thanks for subscribering! Every camp spot I push the limits a little, finding I can go a fair amount of places with this set up. Only thing that does stop me is how tall it is sometimes, which isn't that tall compared to some truck campers, it's only 11'2" tall. Some jeep trails out here just have to low of hanging branches and I don't feel like cutting them all down haha. So I move on to the next area. But so far it's been great for traveling I fit in just about any normal size parking spot. And me and the wife are plenty comfortable in it.
Uprooted Adventures we didn’t mount our solar panel explicitly because of the issue you had where the sun isn’t on the panel yet. I like being a sun chaser and being able to move my panel wherever the sun is. We have 100ft of cable so we can pretty much get to the sun wherever we are.
@@ConsidertheWonders Yeah it's good for traveling days and stuff or if there's sun available. But I plan on getting either a 100 or 200 watt portable solar panel to put out where we want it. Because that sun is elusive haha.
Uprooted Adventures yea we aren’t full timers so my solar needs are amateur at best 😂. I bought a 200w panel too. Probably more than I’ll need but it charges our little system very quickly 👍
@@ConsidertheWonders oh yeah that's plenty. I only use my generator for charging our computer, I can see needing another 100 on top of my 100 already and I'll be fine. But I get by even with the 100 watts I got now.
You guys need to make the long trip to Kentucky sometime! We have beautiful campgrounds all around & lakes of plenty! I think you would enjoy our state & mountains. Some places are very scenic & gorgeous especially in the fall. Enjoyed the video! Beautiful country! Stay safe😊
Oh we plan on it. We hope to hit all of lower 48 at some point. We're thinking of heading to the east coast by next spring and be over in that area for a while to see all we can as well.
So where do you have to go to get water? Hours away? What about your black water tanks? It looks so beautiful but desolate. I didn’t know Colorado looked like that. :)
We can make it a week out in the boonies easily, 2 weeks if we scrimp on things. And sometimes water and supplies are maybe 30 mins away some time up to 2 hours away. All depends on how far away you want to get. In this case only about 45 mins away to dump tanks and get water. And yeah colorado is beautiful it's full of places like this. Which is why it's pretty busy during peak season haha .
That was out question, we never really knew if that was normal range or to low, but we always had power haha. I would normally just charge it for a couple hours during the day if I felt it got to low, plus I had a 100 watt solar panel always bringing in power and well.
Hi guys! Am a new subscriber here in the U.K. We dont have the type of camper here but it looks fabulous. I'm really enjoying watching your adventures. How do you supplement your income whilst you are on the road?
Hey there welcome and thank you! This camper is actually made in canada, but they do sell it in the U.S as well, and so far we love it. Basically we saved up for 2 years and sold our house which we made money on. So most of it is savings we have and I do get a small monthly amount from the VA because I'm a disabled veteran as well. Other then that we're hoping our TH-cam takes off enough that it'll eventually start paying for our travels.
Hey Hey nice to another Truck Camper team out there

Check to see if you can pull the fuse for your Radio and TV. This will help on you power draw. Is all you lights LED's ?

Hartman Rocks kind of reminded me of the Trona Pinnacles in Southern California. Beautiful views. I bet stargazing is also incredible.
