- Hi everyone! Well in this video as you can see, a Utah tornado or dust devil, whatever you like to call it, took my window right off my northern lite truck camper! Thats right gone! Back to OZ for all I know haha. So in this video I tell you how it all happened, and how to replace a northern lite 9-6 truck camper window.
We've heard horror stories about those window, glad you were able to get it done inexpensively. Great job! 👍
Yeah it's a poor design that's they finally fixed in the 2021 model. I mean I like them but hate them at the same time haha.

Thanks for putting up this video. I lost my Northern lite window yesterday, same window as yours upper right side. No dust devil though, someone forgot to latch the window before I took off. It is somewhere between Tucson and Prescott. I had a window company in Prescott cut me a piece of acrylic and I ducked taped it to the frame on the outside. Sad to hear it is going to be a costly replacement for me.
Yeah it's part of the reason we moved on from that camper. It was very nice but anything that goes wrong with it, is going to cost a arm and a leg. I can't imagine shipping and supply shortages have gotten any better since I posted this.
Thanks for the vid, the spring let go on the shade in my 9-6 at the same forward window, so I'm going to have to tear the frame off to fix it at some point when it gets a bit warmer, and this helps!
I had the same thing happened to me down in Arizona. A fluke wind gust popped out my large Dometic Seitz window. It landed on a rock and Put a crack in the outside pane of the acrylic window. Fortunately, I was able to put it back in place and get home. I’ve been trying to get a new one for the past 6 months. The truck camper manufacturer referred me to one of the dealers who was willing to sell me one for $1200. I haven’t been able to find any other options so I asked him to ship it. He’s understandably been busy with Covid demands but we are still waiting after contacting him several times. If anyone reads this and knows where we could get a window that would be wonderful! It’s frustrating to have a two year old truck camper and not be able to get a window replacement.
I agree with trying to rig up some type of a fix to help secure the windows a bit better so they don’t fall out so easily if a gust of wind lifts them up. I haven’t seen anyone else post a video demonstrating this problem so thank you!!!
No problem. I really like the design but they should've put a actual hinge at the top so they can't just pop out and fly off. It kinda ridiculous actually. They went to the slide windows with there new NL now, so this won't happen. But sucks for the rest of us. If you can figure out the dimensions in Milometers, check out ebay. They had some for sale that will fit our rigs. Not sure about your size but if someone didn't have this one for me that's the route I would've taken, and a bit cheaper then the actual dealership. Sorry it's taking so long for yours, hope it gets to you soon, so you can use your rig as intended!

Glad to hear it, and everything but the window design haha, it could use some improvement, which they've changed it this year in there newer ones. But these are still good windows, just gotta be careful.

I purchased a NL back in march and also had the same issue when I tried to put in my brand new tempur pedic into the camper. After months of dealing with that incline, I finally just decided to buy a short queen mattress to put in there while my $3,000 tempur pedic gathers dust in my storage unit. Ughh.
I'm 6'2" I need that full queen so I made it work haha. I just ended up buying a 2 inch foam topper and cut off a foot of it where it curved up and it leveled it right out. And its super comfortable now. But damn thats a expensive mattress I would've made that work too haha.
@@UprootedAdventures I contemplated cutting it but it's one of the hybrid mattresses that have coils integrated into it. I am 6 foot and also thought itd be an issue, but I just stuffed the little spot up at the head of the bed with a pillow underneath the one I use and *WHAMMY!* instant queen, lol. Plus that extra gap gives much needed airflow on that part of the camper. Full timing in montana creates a lot of condensation (especially when I augment with the olympic wave catalytic heater to save on battery usage) and that is a spot that has always been an issue. Not so much anymore! Cheers, y'all. Look forward to more of your content and the -10F temps coming my way in 2 days.

Hi Steve, yes unfortunately that is our rig. Something came up unexpectedly and I will go over it all, not in todays video but in next Thursdays video, so stay tuned. And it wasn't because of the window or anything wrong with the rig haha, and we will continue to travel and the channel will go on.
