Once I saw the thumbnail I knew a Zima ad was gonna be here - how 90s can you get?
I have a 93 Saturn that was recently given to me. It still running pretty good. Other then the left front wheel bearings that is currently being replaced.
My grandparent bought one, then when grandma got too old to drive my sister took it & it became my brother-in-law's 120 mile a day commuter. Then they gave it to our youngest sister & my other brother-in-law is now using it. Only thing to take an absolute shit in that car was its A/C and a few toddlers.
I finally came to the conclusion that this commercial taping came out around the same time I was born, so it’s very likely my mom could have been watching these same exact commercials while they originally aired 😂 Shout-out to KRON4 LOL
also I love how the guy from fast times is in the Zima commercial.
lisa love The air date of these commercials is most likely October 30th, 1993, if that helps!
@@JoeServo The airdate is already listed in the video description. And there's no "most likely" about it, that's when this episode of SNL aired.
80sCommercialVault This could all be lies, though, or else some sort of altered reality, or parallel dimension! I also, failed to read the description.
Is there anything more '90s than Zima?
Crystal Pepsi
Thanks for always bringing the memories back
The Ice Draft beer commercial, love seeing how they predicted the future back then from 1993, now in 2019 all we got is the mammoth screen lol ..
Ah! Taboo! That was our game!
I don't care what you people say. Kirstie Alley was hot, before and after donuts. I don't care!
I'm a fan of the large version of her too.
Prof K yes indeed she was!
They got Danny Devito for Look Who’s Talking Sequels? Might be worth watching.
Was it
@@canadianmoth Never did.
The milk commercial and the cheese commercial felt very reminiscent of an Ernest commercial. I wonder if they were produced by John Cherry as well?
Ah, Robocop 3. The last gasp to try to bring in the kids to the franchise by making it PG-13. Obviously didn't work. It's funny to think how heavily they tried to market the character to young audiences, even when the earlier films were hard-R, with the various toys, video games, and cartoon shows. I know, it was a common practice back then (Rambo got the same treatment), but it's funny to think back on.
The toys were specifically based on the cartoon, not the movie. It wasn't like they were making toys like this back then: super7.com/collections/movies/products/robocop-reaction-figure-emil-antonowsky
@@80sCommercialVault I seemed to remember that they used clips from the first movie in the toy advertising, so I checked, and I was right. In this collection of Robocop toy commercials, at about 0:30 seconds, you can see film clips in the commercial. So, although the toys were based on the cartoon, they did still use the movie to promote the toys occasionally. th-cam.com/video/Bb_voFQioow/w-d-xo.html
The best part about the toy line? One of Robocop's partners from the toy line looks like he escaped from the Village People.
Despite whatever they showed in the commercials, I still see it as adapting an R-rated film to have a kid friendly cartoon and then creating toys based off of that, which like you said, was an extremely common practice at the time. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was originally a gritty, violent comic book geared toward young adults but I wouldn't accuse the 1988 Playmates action figures to be directly based on that.
@@80sCommercialVault They even made Terminator 2 toys i believe
Love that the Bud Ice Draft commercial has Jesus and Mary Chain's latest (at the time) as their soundtrack.
I thought I'd maybe seen this one before, took me a minute to realize it was my local affiliate & I had seen this particular lot when they aired. 😅😅
17:30 oh god I remembered that particular got milk ad, lol
8.For a minute. I thought it was Chris Farley
9. The second place. To take your son besides Toys R Us
14. Rasin Brand mascot. Doing side jobs?
Whoa, is that todd glass? 7:28
Kids are shocked today that we were once charged a fee to call long distance. In fact, we don't even call it that anymore, we pick up the phone and call the number or text. For calls out of the country that is not covered in your plan there is an app for that like whatsapp. Score for the Comeback kid Joe Montana CHIEFS 10 DOLPHINS 30.. Marino tore his achilles 2 game before and was out for the year. 1993 Celica and 1993 Camry, I know 2 people that are still driving those cars. The Celica has about 230K Miles on it and the Camry about 300K on . They still drives like champs and the AC still works, well after a repair or 2 on them after 20 something years..
It's too bad Duracell batteries have gone downhill in quality recently. They seem to be prone to exploding, even in the package.
Carlito's Way-very good film
Zima-sort of tasted like a "classy" version of Alka Seltzer
Robocop 3-to keep the costs down they filmed this in Atlanta rather than either Dallas or Houston like the previous two
Keystone Beer-@18:33, shouldnt that be considered bestiality..?
3:06 Anybody else wondering if this inspired Chris Farley's character from Tommy Boy (which would be released about two years after this commercial.)
Was that Martin Sheen doing the voiceover for the Toyota Celica commercial?
www.imdb.com/name/nm0000640/otherworks
He did a ton of voiceovers for commercials back then.
