    I really would like to thank everyone who was wise enough to go nuts on recording old TV on VHS and kept the tapes and uploaded them to TH-cam quite a few years later.
    Nostalgia is a wonderful thing.

    Whoa! This is the first time I think I’ve seen you post commercials from one of the local stations here in Austin! Awesome! It’s funny to think that 96.7 is still the go-to radio station for top 40 music even though it’s not called “K96.7” anymore. Considering how much I watched Parker Lewis Can’t Lose I’m wondering if I might have been watching this when it originally aired. lol

    man, ya know in the 90s nintendo went really crazy and extreme with their ads, (but I suppose that was the style of the time) so it was nice to see one of the early gameboy ones without all that insanity. never really had a gameboy of my own though til the Gameboy Color series came out!

    • @yusakug
      @yusakug 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The "insane" ads and the "Play it Loud" campaign were Nintendo's desperate effort to emulate Sega's edgier advertising at the time. I remember it not going over very well.

    • @darktetsuya
      @darktetsuya 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@yusakug yeah seeing a few of those on here recently I'd believe that.... like I think there was the kirby one with the guy exploding? I don't remember which game that was offhand but I think it was kirby. I figured it was probably in response to what sega was doing at the time, though.

    • @yusakug
      @yusakug 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Actually it was Yoshi's Island that had a fat guy exploding from eating too much. It was supposed to represent how the game was stuffed with so much content that they couldn't fit anymore in.

    Hairspray-whatever happened to Colleen Fitzpatrick a.k.a Vitamin C..
    The Arsenio Hall Show-was kind of cold how Paramount did Arsenio when he revived his show a few years back..originally they renewed it for a second season but turned around and changed their minds the next day
    Rocky V-Richard Gant did a good Don King imitation..r.i.p Sage Stallone :(
    Against The Law-one of those"maverick lawyer who does things his way" shows
    Beverly Hills 90210-moral of the story,cheaters NEVER win
    K.967 FM-guess a DeLorean wasnt available
    Dances With Wolves-remade,unofficially,by James Cameron in 2009..
    Parker Lewis Can't Lose-someday Fox should do a reunion special

    While some of the commercials of the 90s shown here, such as the K96.7 FM commercial, are very 80s-ish for some reason, at least many of the commercials here shows the explosion of some typical 90s stuff, that was happening in the beginning of the 90s.

    • @kiranolan7104
      @kiranolan7104 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Josh S. The commercials are 80s because it was 1990. The beginning of every decade is always very similar to the previous decade.

    Rocky V stirred up some behind the scenes controversy back in the day, as Stallone originally intended it to be the last film in the series, with Rocky dying from his injuries after the film's climactic fight. The studio did not like this, and forced him to give the film a happier ending. Stallone was openly against this, and talked at length about how he felt his original ending was better, and how he wanted the character to end.
    Of course, he would revive the character over a decade later with Rocky Balboa, and later the Creed films. So, in the end it worked out, since it would have been a shame if the character had ended with the mediocre Rocky V.

    • @marktomlin5818
      @marktomlin5818 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      rocky V was not Sylvester Stallone's best film out of the rocky movies cuz of tommy morrison's acting in it and the plot with rockys son was boring i didn't care for it personally my favorite rocky was III cuz it featured hulk hogan in it and Mr.T

    • @TTrigg
      @TTrigg 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting fact..Sage's scenes during the final fight were shot on a separate soundstage,then edited in

    • @marktomlin5818
      @marktomlin5818 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      rocky was supposed to get killed in the street fight against tommy gunn but sylvester stallone didn't like that idea so instead he beat tommy gunn and there's an alternate ending where rocky beats tommy gunn after the fight rocky grabs tommy's hand and helps him up and rocky doesn't punch duke onto the car

    • @Tr0nzoid
      @Tr0nzoid 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I remember people assumed Rocky would die, and being asked if he did. That all put a downer on the movie for most people who might have gone to see it, especially in contrast to "Home Alone" coming out that same day.
