SHIRO'S TRUST IN LANCE AND KEITH | Voltron: Legendary Defender Theory/Analysis

- Team Voltron hasn't seen the real Shiro in months. He disappeared in the Black Lion at the end of season two. The Shiro currently with the team is a clone we refer to as Kuron. Real Shiro attempted contacting Lance through the astral plane. Lance parallels King Alfor, a former Red Paladin, and so does Keith (another former Red Paladin). Kuron is similar to Zarkon. Lance and Keith will take down Kuron and save Shiro like they did in the first episode. Shiro knows how Lance has grown as a leader over time. Shiro used to be just like Lance when he was younger. He knows Lance is maturing and he'll be helping Lance through things, just like he's done for Keith. Shiro also saw himself in Keith. Which is one of the reasons I think he wanted Keith to pilot the Black Lion. He sees potential in both Lance and Keith to do great things and be great leaders. With extra help from Krolia for Keith this is possible.

Keith is in amazing leader he just has trust issue i now he'll work out he' dont need to be a leader like shiro or anyone else he has the drive and empathy need to lay down his own path and do whats need ,lance can be just a good a leader as shiro he's
warm heart and protective and really helpful of other even if they dont need his help,shiro a good leader no.......more like a burn leader you dont mind looking up to and follow ,but he feels to perfect ,a ture leader can be perfect but all so needs to
show that he can grow with his team ,lance and keith have both show that they'v grown shiro feels the same ,and with season 6 coming out soon i can';t wate to see who will stile or will lead voltron next
I watched some of season four last night, and lance was really representing a leader even then. He gave good speeches and was even placed in the center of full shots of the palidins.

Sometimes I watch these videos and then completely forget that you aren't a part of the team who wrote the show because this is so in depth and holds a lot of facts. Each of your videos, actually, are like that.

I actually thought of this idea last night, Lance asks Keith to come back and tells him about the whole Kuron thing. After going over this with Krolia, Keith comes back to help. (this is the little-farfetched part) So basically Haggar's taking more control over Kuron and he can't pilot the Black Lion. The team does that everybody-try-out-the-lion thing they did in season 3, and _Lance_ gets chosen by Black to lead in their search for the real Shiro, and Keith pilots Red again.
It's always awesome hearing your theories than watching the season and seeing what you got right! I can't wait until season six comes out!

I so want Black Palidain Lance to be a thing. Lance is my favourite character in this version of Voltron. He's shown excellent leadership skills since season 3 and I personally think that this would make him the best leader for the team.

So your character development is about given to the characters who need given their position in the story
I also think why Black didn’t allow Lance as Black paladin is because Lance is still growing as a person. You said once in a video the blue is the motherly lion. The person that needs help with growth in confidence and etc. Even though Lance still has a few self-confidence issues, he has gained more confidence in himself. Lance will not go back to Blue unless he really has to, he's grown too much to be with Blue, and Blue knows it, thats why she (Blue is a she in my eyes, don't question it) kicked him out. If Blue thought that Lance need to stay with her, Allura would be Red or we would have no Red/Black lion at all. When Lance changed to the red lion, it shows his growth, but he still wasn’t there, he was still growing. Now with season 5, he’s a full leader, and Black is going to notice. Once Keith comes back to the team, Black is going to figure out that Kuron isn’t a leader by how he acts, and kick him out. However, even though (most likely) Keith has grown because of his mother, Black is probably not going to choose Keith. Keith is still too independent to be with black, that’s why his connection with Red was really strong without even training (like Shiro level of bond training) to have such a good bond. Keith and Red still and probably will always have that connection, but when Shiro left, Red knew that Keith had to use black. Lance is a born leader and everyone does look up to him, more than he notices. He brings out the best in everyone and always knows what to say when someone needs it. Shiro did the same. Keith may pilot Black for a while, but sooner or later I think Black is going to choose Lance as black paladin until Shiro comes back.

then why did they decide to make keith have that black lion arc? if lance is gonna be a black paladin they might as well should have never make keith the black paladin.

Shiro has only shown his trust as Keith as the leader of what we've seen in season 2 and 3. With Lance, he hasn't shown much interest in him being a leader but he did call him ''sharpshooter'' when they saved Slav. Now because of ''Kuron,'' Shiro just keeps shutting Lance down everytime in season 5. But I am glad he decided to call out to Lance in the astral plane. I think the paladins all need to use the bayards at the same time again to go back there and listen out for Shiro. He can only tell them the truth from ther,e or they will just figure it out on their own and fix it.
mouna3242 Wouldn't that mean Keith has to be there to use one of the bayards? I doubt Kuron would still be there. Hopefully that means he and Krolia meet up with the team.
Yeah Keith will have to use a bayard to go into the astral plane along with the paladins at the same time. But ''kuron'' has to be present so they can reach out to the real Shiro. That's the only way Lance knew Shiro was in there in the first place. So someone will have to sit out so Keith can go in the astral plane. Or the paladins go without him. I think they are going to have to go into the astral plane again in someway.
Who else wants to see what will happen when Kieth returns to the Black Lion and he and all the other Paladins plug in their Bayards at the same time?
Now that we will see a TRUE Black Lion Paladin back in the pilot seat.
You should come up with a theory on why Lance ask if Keith was the real Keith in the season six trailer
I honestly had not thought about black paladin Lance a lot until I watched your videos on it and oh boy, every video you put out now that mentions it makes me excited

I love Lance's character development. He used to be just rlly playful in the first season, but in later seasons, u see how much Lance cares to his friends, and how he gives them support when they need it~❤️

I have a theory that explains where shiro is....
So my theory is that he got “absorbed” into the black lion, now there are a few reasons.
1) it would be the safest place for shiro, the gala could find him literally anywhere else in the universe.
2) when kuron was first found by Black it could have been because shiro new how Keith felt about him disappearing, so he found Kuron so that Keith would feel better, but he didn’t want Kuron leading voltron.
3) when Kuron was able to fly black, it was because he started thinking like shiro: thinking like a leader. Now because Keith was nowhere to be found and the team was in trouble shiro allowed Kuron to fly black.
4)Now in this theory shiro is stuck in black, and we know that black is connected to the astral plain in some sort( because of the ep “space mall” when shiro was in black, then was transported to the astral plain , where he faced Zarkon) so when the team went into the astral plain, shiro saw the opportunity to be able to contact his team

I think the reason Haggar made kuron snap at Keith and lance the most because they mave the most chance or returning Shiro.
also I have an idea, what if lance is the next antagonist? we've seen what happened to zarkon and Haggar, If lance dies than gets revived with quintessense then it's a possibilty

Can I just say that I love you so much??? You're actually amazing. I screamed openly so many times whilst watching this video because when you make a Voltron theory, it's basically cannon. I had to pause the video to calm myself down when you brought up Lance's LGBT arc because I'm dying for Bi Lance to be cannon already.

Lance is smarter than what people give him credit for. It has been shown many times through the series but it has been subtle and you’d miss it if you don’t pay attention.

I have a theory as why Lance said those words it's not because clone shiro has been discovered but because Keith travelled to the other reality 20s into the trailer we see a pod fly into a light and then we also see planet daibazaal the galra home world then 40s into the trailer we see Keith fly on the ship in a pod Lance is worried that it might be the other reality Keith we have seen a second shiro in the other reality ... so chances are the could be another Keith ... when Lance says Keith is back he meaning is back from his mission from crossing over to the other reality where he has discovered something very bad and wants to tell shiro fast.

So, I have ended third season and I'm watching theories, so I can be wrong.
But, what if real Shrio was teleported to Earth? Earth is home of humans, and home usually is the safest place. But then, he was found and imprisoned by Garrison/Military/Nasa/Goverment/Whatever would you like and so, he tries to communicate in other way
Lance is pretty alone though.. My friends and I went to a con and we each got a jacket for a member of the team like Keith was “instinct”, Shiro was “leader”, Pidge was “techie” and Hunk was “mechanic” but Lance only had “sharpshooter”. And he doesn’t always feel like the sharpshooter. It’s so sad.
I went into this video thinking that this was just some trashy fan theory without good strong evidence but boy was I wrong. That was beautiful evidence and I can now see this as I rewatch Voltron.
Adam looks like LANCE, back if the head at least. Could explain why he's so hard on Lance and then feels bad and the friggin blog...OH MY HUNK!!!!!!!!

Also, the thought of Kuron in black rejecting the advice and input of Lance as red, his right hand man, hurts a lot. Lance is trying to do what his role a red requires of him and Kuron is not allowing him to do it.

Keith had now been confirmed as the new leader of Voltron.
