Fantastic video mate. Great editing and ride by footage. Love how you're mapping the area out to the viewer to get a little glimpse as to what's going on instead of just bombing down a trail. Keen as for the rest of this series to play out.
Also, absolutely love the cooking segments with each of your camping vids. Thanks for sharing.
100% agree. I want the viewer to experience the trip as I did. There is plenty of YT channels out there with balls to the tank footage. No need for another one. The cook is not everyone's favourite, but I am really glad you enjoy them. Thanks for the comments

I have the Rade Garage auxiliary tank installed. It gives me an extra 5.9L of fuel capacity. Around 350km of range

Another great vid Dan. Are you just sleeping on a thin super expensive inflatable mat (like I have and which I freeze my goolies on) or do you use something thicker and a few gram heavier? How do you stay warm at night. Or does the whisky provide the comfort? Thanks again.
Cheers Mick. I use an insulated sleeping mat, it is your best defence against the cold ground. I have been using the Thermarest NeoAir XTherm Max - Ultralight Winter Sleeping Mat for about 6/7 years, and I find it really comfy. Another recommendation would be the Nemo Tensor Insulated ultralight mat. It weighs around 620g.

Back in the 1980s we used to ride up in that area, prior to track closures to create the wilderness, before it was incinerated.

Another great video mate. Just wondering what your helmet mic setup is. I have an XD4 aswell but having problems with audio clipping. Tried purple panda mic & another cheaper version with no joy. 👍
It’s a pain I know to well mate, not easy getting good sound out of the mic in the XD4. My trick has been an extra wind sock and electrical tape around the mic to block the wind. I can send you a pic of it through from my Instagram messenger.

Hey DK, another great video. Looking forward to part 2. I’ve got a 701 set up similar to you. I’m due for a front tyre change. What did you put on? I’m actually pretty happy with the TK 80 front but wondering what your thoughts are. I’ve got a motoz adventure on the back which is great. Cheers
Cheers Mickey! I went with the motoz rallz on the front. It held up really well descending Billy Goats and had plenty of grip on the road. I go into more detail in the next vid. Out Sunday 🤙

Hi Dan. Was up there on the weekend to do Billy Goats descent but got hosed on and a pea souper. Luckily made it to Horseyard Flat hut for the night to wake up to more rain and no visibility. Definitely an adventure!
Bummer mate, I got Billy Goats on a magic day. Definitely not the track to do in poor visibility. How is horseyard flat? Never stayed there.
@@DKADV yep definitely need a nice day. Horseyard Flat Hut was the greatest hut in the High Country that night. Its pretty run down with a dirt floor. But it was dryish!
Hey mate I run the extra extension plate on the pre run tail, I cut out some of the sides so the 80 would sit better this moves the bags back about 2 inches. Made a big difference where it sits. Love the videos and enjoy what you cook.

Thanks mate. The gloves are the REV'IT Caliber. Unfortunately, they are not very good and would not recommend them as the stitching came undone after one trip out. I took them back for a refund and purchased a set of Klim Badlands Aero Pro, which I highly recommend.

Traded the f800 to get the 701. The BMW was getting up in the kilometres, so decided to sell.
