been waiting mate!..i rate your vids as best entertaining and interesting...I watch a few to get ideas on were to go but always really enjoy watching yours...
I appreciate that! Half the battle with YT vids is to capture your awesome trip and replicate it. I do need to jump on some of the group rides in VIC, great way to see new areas. Shoot me a message if you guys are heading out.
Awesome trip DK. As usual great camera work, perfect use of the 360 camera, for extra angles. Patient riding buddies to let you set up cameras ahead. 🤣. Love your work. Already subbed, or I would of after this Video.
Thanks Jethro. Yeah, the lads know the deal with the filming. I am mindful not to have it impact the trip too much. Still got to enjoy it! Cooking them dinner helps!
Fantastic footage DK. Really feels like we're along for the ride. Appreciated the bike set-up run down. Your culinary efforts are making me rethink what's possible! Thanks
Good choice! I also went with a different fule dongle than Brent which is ticking all the boxes. fueldongle.es/products/fuel-dongle-pp-02 Very happy with it and no issues with the fule.
I installed the fuel dongle as well and the bike runs a lot smoother without a too big jump in fuel consumption. I recently added the ABS dongle as well but will install a little switch so I can have full ABS as well for the black top.
Nice video as usual 😃 I've got the Tech 7 waterproof boots and have never had a problem with water, even in the worst downpours (2+hrs of drenching rain). But I haven't dunked them in a river, that may be your issue 😂
I have definitely tested them to their limits in the water. I had a pair of the Alpinestars Toucan prior and they stayed dry a lot longer. Wish they would combine forces with those boots. Or I just need to harden up!!
By the looks of Tommy's bags they may of been slightly over packed, that with the combination of hitting some of those wash outs at speed could of all added up to them ripping. I ran those same bags on my 1090 for a fair few trips with no issues at all.. Looks like you 3 had a ripper trip!!👌👌
Nicely done Dan. Looks like you are luvin the Husky. Hey nice work with the 360 rig. Are you using Gooto max or Insta? How are mounting it? Short bracket on frame? It’s nice. I’m ready to chuck my 360 cam away, but you have inspired me to have one more go. So far the only angle I really like is mounted off helmet on long bracket, but it is NOT conducive to adv riding.
Hi Brent, every time I take the 701 out I'm blown away by it. I have a love-hate relationship with the insta360. Love the angels I can create and great filler footage, but the sound quality is not on pair for riding off-road. The mic is garbage. - To edit, I upload and trim the clips down in the desktop insta program and then export it to final cut pro. - I use the insta360 Heavy Duty Claw + Double Ball Mount (short bracket) I mount to the frame to get the low side shots and mount to the handlebars for the other shots. ( i can send you a photo on Instagram with the setup if you want)
@@DKADV Hey Dan, funnily enough I'm editing the final episode of the Flinders video... and I literally recorded some voiceover that says. "I've played with the 360 and don't like it... it's more of a novelty and I haven't been happy with the angles and the final product .... so I'm going to leave my 360 at home".... but I'm going to change that now after seeing your footage and link to it. The low-angle shots look great, I'd love to see a photo of your setup.
Another great watch DK - thanks. Surprised the Enduristan bags failed as they are one of the better brands. Front tyre - maybe a Motoz Rallz would work for you ? Thats what I am putting on the Tenere next to replace the TKC80. Hoping the Rallz is stiffer in the sidewalls but not as vague on the tarmac as the Pirelli Scorpion Rally. In the end its all a compromise.
Thanks Paul. I was very surprised with the monsoon bags, I also like there stuff. The supplier Tom got the bags from have been good and helped him out with a few solutions. Thanks for the recommendation for the front, definitely a fan of the Rallz.
Hi Dan, loving your channel mate. Great advice and awesome rides. I live in Adelaide and we ride flinders and all over the state. I current mount is a 22 KTM 1290 SAR ( Congrats on the S, you will love it!). Just a question, I love the Grampians and gonna head back soon, could I ride most of those tracks on the 1290? I know some you couldnt as you stated but some looks fairly straight forward.. cheers Nikko
Cheers Nikko, glad you enjoy the channel mate👍 Loving the SAS, really happy with the purchase. There is only really two very difficult tracks in the Grampians, Launders TK and Chinamans TK. The rest will be sweet on the 1290. Recommend Vic Range Rd, Wallaby Rock TK, Rosea TK (if the creeks are running. Be sure to check out the channel TKs that run along the water inlets for lake Moora Moora. They are great for sand riding.
@@DKADV thanks mate, appreciate the advice. Your channel has inspired me to do some solo camping. I’ve been looking at your gear and the gourmet meals you prepare.. lol.. love it.. take care out there.. Nikko
Great video Dk, really enjoyed it. I see you said you used a different fuel dongle. Has it improved the down low torque? i'm keen to try a version that works with the euro 5 model. The web site is all in Spanish. No problems with shipping etc? Thanks
Cheers, Mickey! Correct, went with the option from Fuel Dongle.ES. They have fixed the low-end torque issue with the euro 5 motor. The 701 climbed up steep hills in second gear with ease now. Very happy and was under $150 delivered to AUS. I used google translate for the web page and it converted it from Spanish to English. No issues at all getting the Fuel Dongle PP-02 delivered from Sapin, was here in about 8 days.
Thanks for checking out the channel I film with the following cameras - Insta360 one x2 (mounted to the bike) - GoPro Hero 8 (mounted to the chin of my helmet) - GoPro Hero 5 (tripod-mounted -ride past action shots)
@@DKADV do you plan on getting the gopro hero10? I just got it but haven't had a chance to test it due to health issues lately. Hopefully it doesnt have overheating problems
