Its a hard game to get into when you go big block and big tire the bottom is endlass as far as that setup
Small block, small tire, super lightweight something that will go down any road at any time big block and big tire is a ridiculous class/style car to get into right now
      Much love from the northeast

Gold and black top paint scheme? Yes.
500 - 502 CI twin turbo blow through? Yes.
Twin Precision PT8685 GEN2 CEA turbos? Yes.
Same boost control components, strategy and fueling used on the S10? Yes.
Tons of adjustable power with a big learning curve. But on the plus side, a VERY fast car without pushing it to it's limits. Sure it's gonna be costly and take time, but in the end it will all be worth it. I think it's fantastic that you guys snagged this legendary car and can bring it back to life. IMHO, it's exactly what you needed for the next step up in your racing career. One things for sure, it's gonna be a bad ass street car again. Big time congrats.

HERES MY TWO CENTS. I HAD A 1969 Nova in high school. 1973 it wasn’t that old and had low miles. 307 Powerglide never got beat by a four speed 350 Camaro. Anyway it was gold too and bottom. That color gold was only 69 Nova and 1964 Cadillac. Go to paint store and see if you like it. I loved it because it wasn’t 24 karat gold color it was a VERY NICE TINT.. no black top a top with different color distracts from the overall look. My 2 cents.
    GOD BLESS YOU !!!!!

There is no replacement for displacement . If you can swing it go with a big block . As far as paint take 2 of your favorite colors and run with it . Before vinyl tops they would paint a light color from the sail panel upon the roof . So if you went black & gold . Deck lid quarters doors fenders hood window pillers would be black sail panels roof would be gold .

Two cars is a huge commitment and really tough to stay on top of even with the resources of the three of you. And there's the $$ part. I'd take the drivetrain from the S10 and set the truck off to the side, you can always come back to it. Really nice to have an already sorted engine and trans combo for compare and contrast as you dial in the Nova. Between the weight savings, aero and power to the ground that small block - Nova combo should get you where you want to be. And probably a year sooner. If you want to go big block later the car will be sorted by the time that's ready. Notice how well a step at a time has worked on the S10, just some food for thought. Good luck and enjoy!!

Good luck with the car. I told your dad earlier on his channel we race a 69’ Nova with a bbc. It’s got a 4 link as well but we are running N/A on ours. It’s a great platform! Nice you’ve already got tubular front suspension and a rack. Those are things we still need to do because with a bbc the steering box hits the stock pan, which gives it a very small turning radius. Go big block Billy. A 540 is a good starting point. An aluminum block, standard heads, cast intake low maintenance deal, with twins. It is not a huge difference in price and the power achieved from it will double your small block. Keep it simple. Don't need exotic stuff for what you are doing... you picked a nice car to do it in.

I'm excited as hell by the Nova! It looks like it has serious potential, and I'm sure you guy's will work to figure it out, and make it a winner. With your driving skill and work ethic, Pops old man wisdom and attention to detail, you'll be flyin in no time! Much luck and love from Cincy.

You can't go wrong going big block. Get your self a Dart Big M block and stroke it. You won't regret it. 632 cu. in. has a nice ring to it. :)

Here we sit a yr later having just seen a very small taste sample of the Nova. Hopefully next yr were talking about this car winning everything!

You should build an identical small block for the nova as the truck so if one is blown up or broke somehow you can swap between the two. Maybe even upgrade the little M to aluminum rods and what not so you can make a little more power safely and then build an identical one for the nova. Just an idea can't wait to see the progress you and your family are awesome people. God bless

Old man you got one more in ya then tell the boys your on your own just like you did. You gave them the skills to run with it you should be damn proud they growed up. Roll into retirement. And help as needed to keep it going. You deserve it. Life's too short and you proved yourself a thousand times over. My two cents.

Big Block for sure Aluminum block would be nice but you can save $2000 with the iron block? World IV billet cap block is $2900 new .......... if Turbo I'd do 4.500 or 4.560 bore 4" or 4.250" crank! 2000 - 2500 HP all day ! twin 80 or 88 nice used heads or some Promaxx if your tring to save some coin!

Billy, my suggestion is take a small block and spare parts you have and build it. Run it with a small block and take your time and build a ass kicking block and tear up the streets with it. And tear up the streets with the S-10. You will do fine to start out with a small block and later drop the big block in the Nova. I think you will be very competitive with the old man at your side.

I would like to see a small block. I know making power is more of a challenge but a small block lineup would be nice. Like you dad says parts can interchange

Coming from dirt it doesn't matter how high your lead is going in a straight line . Until you get sideways then if it's up high it will make your chassis role and whip the rear . So keep your weight low .

Really happy to see you building a Nova brother. 👍 I started my racing career at 16 in a 72 Rally Nova. It's where the "Parkway Racer" was born. My advice is go big block, I can see it's what you really want to do. Any other decisions will make you unhappy, trust me.

Big block with off shelf edelbrock heads ,106 turbo =4.20 - 30s easy . Dusty Bradford went 20s in his regal same 540 bb setup as above weighing in at 3300

Why not go for LS with twin turbo & flow thru carburation? Parts are plentiful & affordable & proven

100 percent big block. More durable more power to work with especially once you go big tire. One and done. And love the idea of the color combo as well. Good luck with the build.

A big block gets my vote!!! Possibly a big bore, short stroke setup with some SR20 cylinder heads (minimum 4.600 bore required for those heads). That car is gonna be a beast once again either way. Good luck on the build guys!!! #SRCNation

Oh man!! I wish I tuned in to your channel earlier, I'd love a SRC remote car! When my disability check comes in, I may have to get me a Billy the kid poster, The Falcon,...etc. Get it now so it'll increase in value when you become known worldwide, you, Tommy, Allison, Matt aka "cousin Eddie".

Build this as if it was your dream combo so you don’t have any regrets. You always have the s10 for small tire slower stuff. You seem to have the Hustle to be able to make shit happen so build it as if it’s your last build. I think twin big block would be awesome, the 4 link is begging for it.

Go big block, no replacement for displacement! You boys will probably make more power than I could ever dream of. But I’m planning to build a 496 big block with an 8-71 roots blower to put in a third GEN Camaro.🤘😜

HIGH WIND'N SB'S KIK'N BUTT - FOREVER! Congrats for finding and now owning the Nova you saw many, many years ago. Stick with what you guys know,, a lot less trouble plus parts interchangeability makes the car a ton more affordable. You're already making BB's cry with the SRC S10 pickups. BB? Naw,,
