- In this video I find a vintage Fernandes Precision Bass from a local thrift store that was made in Japan. I fix it up and clean it to test it out and see how it sounds. I also try flatwound strings for the first time.

If you come across another 'cheapy' try taking the frets out to make it a fretless and see how it sounds. I did and I'm not going back to frets on a bass ever again!
Frets are overrated.
This era Fernandez are really nicely made.
My first bass was a cheaply Behringer P bass and I love it!
That's a great find. What did you pay for it? To remove the knobs slide a piece of cloth under it and twist the cloth into a knot then use it to pull the knob off. The background music is a bit too loud.
Thanks for the advice on both. I paid $50 and $40 for strings, so I’m all in for $90. I was considering reselling it, but have already got too attached!
nice video :) bass sounds great too
That's a rad bass! I think a lot of import guitars are highly underrated. I still have my Epiphone Les Paul I bought at Outlaw music on Stephens Ave in Missoula. I've modded it since and made a homemade Indy rock album on it. You reminded me of home. Cheers from Raleigh, NC!
Nice! And I agree with you 100%. Apparently Fernandes made knockoff Les Paul’s under the name Burny that are supposed to be awesome as well. Cheers!
