Great find , very rare to find in a thrift shop, the boombox God's were with you lol 😊 take care of that unit. Good luck
nice video :) bass sounds great too
My first bass was a cheaply Behringer P bass and I love it!
That's a rad bass! I think a lot of import guitars are highly underrated. I still have my Epiphone Les Paul I bought at Outlaw music on Stephens Ave in Missoula. I've modded it since and made a homemade Indy rock album on it. You reminded me of home. Cheers from Raleigh, NC!
Nice! And I agree with you 100%. Apparently Fernandes made knockoff Les Paul’s under the name Burny that are supposed to be awesome as well. Cheers!
If you come across another 'cheapy' try taking the frets out to make it a fretless and see how it sounds. I did and I'm not going back to frets on a bass ever again!
Frets are overrated.
This era Fernandez are really nicely made.
That's a great find. What did you pay for it? To remove the knobs slide a piece of cloth under it and twist the cloth into a knot then use it to pull the knob off. The background music is a bit too loud.
Thanks for the advice on both. I paid $50 and $40 for strings, so I’m all in for $90. I was considering reselling it, but have already got too attached!
Wife looks happy , definitely a good trip idea
Nice! I bought a 1975 brand new in January of 1976. It’s black/maple. Still got. They were cheap back then. I this it was less than $350.00 out the door with a Fender hardshell case. Still got it. Fast forward to 1990, I found a 73 P natural/maple at local flea market. Pretty hammered but worth $325.00. Both of them are closet queens. I prefer playing my 1980 Mapleglo Rickenbacker. It was another remarkable deal. such a great sounding and easy to play bass.
Wow, you won’t find one for even close to that cheap these days!
@@aaronfullers1 BTW, nice job on your P! Beautiful bass.
@@clicks59 thank you!
Bought '71 Precision brand new and in '73 traded it for a 1959 Stratocaster and $400 cash up in Jacksonville ,fl. when I was touring , Had it appraised 5 years ago at $20,000 , I guess that was a good trade. Bought another Precision a few years back , It does not sound and feel like the '71.
I’d say that was a good trade up! I’d considered trying out one of the new Squier vintage reissues, they look pretty nice.
nice bass! I literally bought the same bass but modern, a 2020 Pro II. Same sunburst with maple fretboard. I love it. Only thing is you should have put flats on it!!
Awesome, thanks! I’ve never played flats…always sounded dull to me, but I should give them an honest try!
does anyone know the dimensions of the pinch rolls on the sony wm-fx453 model
hekk yaa brother! 20th annev. edition as well! i scored a torino red affinity strat in the pawnshop at a great deal too! same year as yours...2002! everything works on it too yahooo! ill document the stock sounders b4 i swap out the pickups....
That thing looks wonderful afterwards. If it ergonomically plays decently, for the price, it's a winner. A bit too much effort for me personally, but great job!
Thank you!
there is a thrift store online and you can make bids for guitars....
The sweeper “woohoo!” 🤣 that was great! Good work on bringing it back to life!
Glad you caught that, the “woo hoo” is my favorite part. Saw it online recently and thought I’d give it a try with my shop vac 😂
It’s Squier as per the headstock.
Oops, you are correct, thank you!
Looks like a fun little rig.
Wow, awesome video! Lots of great information and demonstrations of the sounds. What do you think about the Randall RG25C? Can’t find anything about it and there’s one for sale near me. Thanks
Thank you, I don’t know much about the RG25C but from what I looked up seemed a little newer and not powerful enough for what I like. I’d really like to find a Randall Commander.
@@aaronfullers1 Appreciate your getting back to me! I’ll probably get it and add it to my army of amps; my playing style doesn’t require a lot of firepower and while the Randall brand may not be one of the fancier brands they seem to be highly functional and reliable. Good luck in your search for the Commander🙂
I just found your channel, I liked it, keep it coming
Hi, I have a ST-903 and the tone arm is 3 degrees from perpendicular to the rail when the tone arm is at rest, so the starting position adjustment will not correct for this. Is there some way to adjust the tone arm so it is perpendicular to the rail?
There’s not an obvious correction for this that I can remember, but there is a screw that you can tighten up at the base of the arm that might help correct it a bit?
Hey love your vids :D someone recommended me this for an indoor metal amp for under 600? Would you recommend ?
Thank you, and yes absolutely this amp thrives playing metal!
Dude! I just bought one of these for $120. It was covered in old crappy stickers and grime. It came with the original footswitch, but the seller said it never worked. He inherited this amp from his grand father! I spent half a day cleaning it up, and using contact cleaner on all the pots and the footswitch. The footswitch came back to life. The noise from the pots went away. Most of the knobs had been changed out and were falling apart, but I replaced them all with nice aluminum ones. It still has the original Celestion speaker. It's incredibly loud! It sounds like a really tight tube amp.
Saved my life my friend! excellent music choices as well - the 20th anniversary show for that american football album was probably the best show i've been to. killer record.
Sorry, I missed this comment until just now. Jealous that you made it to that American Football, looked awesome!
I had one of these in the early 80’s.. I only play tube amps now, but at the time, this was the best sounding solid state amp you could get. It sounds even better if you take it easy on the reverb.
What size belt did you get? I have the same turntable and need to replace my belt
Sorry I’m not sure, I bought it off eBay from professorphonoraph based on model number. Didn’t say what size it was in the description.
Got one of these in the snakeskin tolex, though not in great shape and needing some work. Appreciate the examples of sounds that I should be looking to get out of it when it's up and running again.
Nice! Good luck getting it up and running again!
Hi! Do you sell it?
I haven’t sold anything yet, I’ve been collecting everything I’ve worked on so far.
@@aaronfullers1 If you decide to sell it I'm in turn, interested.
This amp was designed by Gary Sunda, who was actually a Fender employee, and was responsible for designing some of the early amps. Channel one on this amp is supposed to be the "fender" circuit, and channel two is the "marshall" tone stack. This is a killer amp. I have the head version, and it's probably the best sounding solid state head I've ever played. Check out: th-cam.com/video/z9r5Gcxow_0/w-d-xo.html
Wow, what an incredible history of the industry that I had no idea of! Thank you for sharing. The interview you’ve shared goes more in depth to anything I’ve ever seen. Thank you!
Can confirm. Have you watched Gary’s NAMM interviews? Pretty cool, check em out if you haven’t.
That's wicked
Cool!

Gotta say I’m impressed. Enjoy that gitfiddle!
