I normally never comment, but I can't believe someone used the music of File City from Digimon World! That opened a can of nostalgia I thought I had forgotten.... Thank you for that!
10:10 Agreed, I always felt that facing solo Arch Tempered Nergigante with high rank gear was the last true hunt/test before Iceborne. It was just you and the Flagship monster in a last face off. But I can see why many players would skip all the extra content from the base game now when you can just seamlessly continue the story and have a better time without worrying about grinding optional stuff. I am a little bit into iceborne but I'm stuck on barioth at the moment, I think I'll do the arch tempered elder dragons firdt to get rocksteady mantle firdt
Not sure all of this is good advice for everyone. If you're going to tell people they should do something before progressing to MR it should be because it will save them some trouble later. The utility upgrades somewhat fit that bill because they make MR easier but can also just as easily be done after getting into MR. Some other comment said you can't get certain quests if you have an active main quest so that's probably a good call out. For pretty much everything else here you'd save yourself time and effort by just coming back after getting into MR, because even starter MR gear competes with the best HR gear. Even if you want the extra challenge of doing the hard event quests in HR gear, it takes time to get good HR sets and you can farm them easier if you come back with MR gear. This guide is good for people who want to get the full base MHW progression/experience, but I'd argue that most new players are just trying to get to the end game in a reasonable amount of time. I'd say this should be a "HR rewards you might have missed" guide or something
Exactly my thoughts, MR Bone gear is crazy strong compared to most HR gear and it literally takes 5 minutes, also there are a lot of really easy sets avaible after first 1-2 MR quests
It took me 52 hours to finally finish base game after doing some of the side content. Was keen to jump into iceborne to gear up quickly and get a new weapon before eventually going back for important items/quests that I had missed in base game. It’s a lot of work for a new hunter
Also another tip, when you get to the Kirin quest at HR 49, go into the assigned quest and farm its tracks, it'll give you Investigations for tempered elder dragons. Reason to do this is, it can be a pain to get them after you complete the quest.
honestly grinding HR 50 feels like such unnecessary grind for a new player when theres no issue going straight to MR which has its own grind so time wise its better to just go to MR and let both go up for the price of one for your time. Also the great jegras is cool and certainly efficient but iceborn also gives you a way to get decorations easy with steam works so its not something to wait on. If someone wanted to get the full experience of high rank boss fights they can just put on high rank gear/weapons to get the true effect so again telling anyone to grind it out till that point before iceborn is dumb.
7:09 Warning on the Greatest Jagras event quest, it looks easy in the video because he has MR gear, but with HR, that's equivalent to a Arch Tempered Jagras hahah becareful!
These are all good points. The only issue is that a lot of these quests are unlocked at HR50. If you start the game new and play to the end of the base game, you'll only be like HR20 or 30 going into Iceborne. From there you can get to 3 star master rank quests quite easily with your high rank gear and then start to farm something for mid master rank. Im playing through the game again on a new character currently, and I didn't get to HR50 until I was already finished with the story for Iceborne and was almost MR30 as well
@@ethanwalker955u asked a question , expecting the guy will say he’s missing out on alot of stuff, but when he replied he only lacks a few gadgets - u still doubled down on being a clown xD

For the new players who started world. I really suggest that you take your time before getting into Iceborne since some HR quest progression won't be triggered if you have a main story quest pending. You won't be able to get the quest that is needed to get the materials for upgrading your charms.

I would recommend to farm for a good set that carries you somewhat into MR until you meet the Barioth. Then I would farm for a MR Armor and Weapon. The difference is insane. I fucked around and found out very quickly that Barioth wouldn't take any of my High Rank Bullshit gear that made no real sense. Like using the Legiana Gear against every enemy because I thought it looked cool. Or always using the same weapon against every Monster. What I want to say is, get a grip of how to farm for useful armor, think about what you want out of your sets and use the best set against any monster you currently have. Barioth is a hardcore wall against anyone who doesn't take good care of his gear and preparation for a Hunt, and you will never make him your prey if you start to think about what Armor sets complement your choice of weapon and playstyle. Until you understand that, you will not be the Hunter if you are out there in the wild tundra, you will be the prey of the current Apex Predator. One more thing. LEARN to use the Claw. I didn't understand how to use it until I met the Barioth. He literally made me go home and do my homework. Until I did that, he would smash me out of the tundra if I dared to step into it.
Yeah Barioth is where I quit for now. Like, I don't even get mad. He kills me so fast that I really don't even feel like I have a chance to make a mistake. He basically looks at me, teleports out of frame and I'm dead. That fight is beyond retarded.
@@stonaraptor8196 Barioth also made me almost quit. Barioth is a Wall. He will make you go back and farm for better gear, and believe me, you WILL need it. Barioth is the point of the game where you will start to farm specific Armor and Weapons. That's where the fun begins. I also thought that the fight must be some kind of bullshit, getting almost one hit by normal attacks. But believe me, if you get your first full MR Armor, the fight is very much doable, especially if you get yourself a good weapon and a plan how to fight. You need to destroy his arms first, no question about it. As soon as you break them, he starts to trip after every lunge and gives you time to relocate and even sneak in attacks on him. Break his arms, and Barioth starts to crumble. Also, give him space when he gets mad. You have to respect Monsters in MR, and after Barioth, when they get mad. Shoot a Flash Pod at him when he enrages. Also lure him into other Monsters, if there are any. Barioth is the kind of guy that can not let other Monsters pass without a good ol' Fistfight. Don't panic against him. He is fast and brutal. Being in panic does nothing for you. You need to be absolutly calculative against him. Use every dirty trick up your sleeve, no holding back. You absolutly should go back and learn to use the claw, if you didn't already do. Smacking Monsters into walls or other, bypassing, Monsters, deals much damage, downs them but enrages them afterwards. The claw is such a strong tool, you mustn't ignore it. Same goes for the sling. These two tools get ignored too much until you meet Barioth, and he punishes you for all your mistakes you accumulated until this point and makes you work on them. I for myself farmed a MR Rathalos Armor and Weapon, learned to use the claw (there are specific missions for that in the Arena), learned to tenderize Monsters Bodyparts and started to use my sling more to beat him. And man, was it awesome to stand beside this stupid asshole, broken arms, teared of tail and broken teeth, triumphant.
Seriously just do everything! Every quest every optional every investigation! You will unlock everything! This game is the Ultimate grind. For you new players I promise you you'll have to invest about 1000 hours into this game just to be par for the course. The game is worth the time.
Your videos are helping me alot ! Just started a week ago w/ a friend, and we're really enjoying the base game. One question: how do you floor itens glow with his type ? I mean, you can see what is item and what is ammo, for example!
Is the "easier item spotting" that I see in this video (where items on the ground show up as icons instead of sparkles), a skill or mod? (Fairly new at this, only just gotten to the rotten value and the ship flying)
As of right now, I keep trying to clean up stuff, I didn't know the base game had that Kulve Taroth Siege, there apparently is a Safi'Jiiva Siege as well, but I wonder if you can get people together to do it. I don't really have anyone I play Monster Hunter World with, so yeah.
The Safi Jiiva siege is for master rank only, probably need to finish the entire Iceborne story for that one first. Try joining random lobbies and asking them if they'd like to try doing Kulve with you. I've had a few friends that are new to the game do that and they've been able to find groups to do it
When selecting an event, the element thats shows over the monster's icon displayed, what does it mean? Is it the monster's weakness and how do I get to show it?
Arena trials? the one where the player gets a preselected armour and gets to choose between 3 weapons. The rewards from that is monster Coins. These coins will also get you armour sets that you would never get from any other quests. Some people would frown when they realize that the first monster is a Kulu Ya Ku... but, you have to remember; you do not get to have your high-level armour and favourite weapon. Armour is preselected and mediocre, as is the weapons. The point of the Arena trials is to see if the player can remember the monster's movesets and still beat it with simple gear. Are they necessary for the Master Rank? Probably not. But for achievement hunters and those who wish to brag, they are a challenge. And the armour sets are your rewards.
When i first played iceborne i ran right into iceborne regret ot instanly but my save got deleted the last monster i fought was viper tobi kdachi and beat him with 5 minutes left redownloading it now and playing the right way
When looking through your quests your monsters had elemental icons that showed their weaknesses so you knew without having to check notes, is that a base game thing? Ive never seen that, and Im all the way into the end of iceborne for my second time. That would save a lot of time if thats a toggleable setting Im missing
I quit playing MHW 5 years ago and just started again recently. I have been trying to find a cohesive list of which Event Quests are most important before the events end. If anyone reads this and can link something, I would greatly appreciate it. This is what I needed after MR reality check in iceborne . Big help
Hey how do the objects glow??
I’m getting back into mhw and have to start over because my original account was on my ps4 😂. This video is helpful!
Maaaaaannn !! The digimon world 1 BGM brings back memories
Seriously just do everything! Every quest every optional every investigation! You will unlock everything! This game is the Ultimate grind. For you new players I promise you you'll have to invest about 1000 hours into this game just to be par for the course. The game is worth the time.
damn hearing that digimon world 1 bgm gave me the chills haha
digimon world 1 file city ost,. so nostalgic
Only real ones know what the background music is from
I came here for the MHW facts, but I stayed for the Digimon World music.
Your videos are helping me alot ! Just started a week ago w/ a friend, and we're really enjoying the base game. One question: how do you floor itens glow with his type ? I mean, you can see what is item and what is ammo, for example!
Loving the Digimon world music in the background
Some armor and mantle you cant archive anymore....Bayek armor and his mantle (Assassins Mantle) also not the event armor from Monster Hunter Film.
Wait…i. Heard ppl saying behemoth is the hardest boss…. And youre saying i should beat him before iceborn even? Or am i misinformed?
I highly advise against it. I haven’t beaten him but I personally would use iceborne gear
"Collabs don't take a very long time to do"
Ahem, I am suppose to struggle soloing the Behemoth, right ?
Where's the option to see fallen materials as good as in the video? I don't know how to activate that indicators
Is the "easier item spotting" that I see in this video (where items on the ground show up as icons instead of sparkles), a skill or mod?
(Fairly new at this, only just gotten to the rotten value and the ship flying)
I sold 5 pages of Kulve Taroth weapons thinking they were now outclassed. Why doesn't the game hint that earlier that the weapons are handy?
How did you do so you saw the weakness of the monster in the post quest sequence?
The idea with kjarr weapons safed my weekend;)
yo man love the channel name, and thanks for the info.
what mods do you have installed the ones that show monster weakness on monster icon and item drops seems really useful
you can check out my mod list here th-cam.com/video/3jdrDj_SsFg/w-d-xo.html
appreciate it :)@@darkhero2
was wondering the same @@darkhero2
DIGIMON WORLD 1 MUSIC O MGGGGGGGGG
As of right now, I keep trying to clean up stuff, I didn't know the base game had that Kulve Taroth Siege, there apparently is a Safi'Jiiva Siege as well, but I wonder if you can get people together to do it. I don't really have anyone I play Monster Hunter World with, so yeah.
The Safi Jiiva siege is for master rank only, probably need to finish the entire Iceborne story for that one first.
Try joining random lobbies and asking them if they'd like to try doing Kulve with you. I've had a few friends that are new to the game do that and they've been able to find groups to do it
@@darkhero2Thanks for the reply! I will try that.
how do you turn on those glowing ground icons that show u theres a monster part
@darkhero2 awesome video man! Is the song at the beginning of the video from Digimon World by chance? If not it totally reminds of it 😂
i have gotten the tutorial for the kulv karoth siege but it has never apeared on my screen ever
When selecting an event, the element thats shows over the monster's icon displayed, what does it mean? Is it the monster's weakness and how do I get to show it?
For the Greatest Jagras Quest, does it still spit out all of those decorations if you kill it and repeat the event?
Very good point. I often do those early on and never return to them so I totally forgot they existed
@@darkhero2 thank you for pointing out that Great Jagras event quest pukes out deco's! I had no idea. This beats fighting a tempered Deviljho 😅
How can i get the icons above the items? They just habe a small glowing beam on my game and no way to turn it on
Great video, thank you.
When i first played iceborne i ran right into iceborne regret ot instanly but my save got deleted the last monster i fought was viper tobi kdachi and beat him with 5 minutes left redownloading it now and playing the right way
Is that... Digimon World BGM?
I’m just started playing this game I never saw my self hook into this type of game plus I’m so fucking lost in this game 😂
When looking through your quests your monsters had elemental icons that showed their weaknesses so you knew without having to check notes, is that a base game thing? Ive never seen that, and Im all the way into the end of iceborne for my second time. That would save a lot of time if thats a toggleable setting Im missing
Great video dude
Digimon World BGM?
Also sadly, Assassin's Hood and MH Movie gears aren't available anymore
I quit playing MHW 5 years ago and just started again recently. I have been trying to find a cohesive list of which Event Quests are most important before the events end.
If anyone reads this and can link something, I would greatly appreciate it.
Edit: I totally forgot about the Greatest Jagras dropping decos, and was at first skipping picking them up because I thought they were pointless low/high rank drops smh.
