I kind of feel that way with The Top. It only appeared once in the final stage, but it spawned videos of people making racing scenes better by using that. Plus both Deja Vu and The Top are just fantastic.
One of my best friends, someone i knew for decades, loved Initial D. I never could sit and watch it with him. Just couldnt get in to it. I will be watching the entire series in his honor when i finish grieving.
As someone who can't sit and watch and understand action movies because too much is happening I also feel the same as you. I just watch it just for my friend. Edit: oh rip sorry just realized you watch for the lost of your friend
I'm sorry for your loss. I hope that when you watch the show, you are able to feel your friend's presence as you enjoy something they held dear. I'm not even that into cars, and I loved this show.
Theres a weird irony that the scene with “that eurobeat song” (for the most part) is actually one of the most criticized scene changes from the manga to anime. “Make up your Mind” totally ruled this battle yet this song stole its thunder. Odd.
@@alibiisntreal the way takumi passes is different i believe, that whole thing with the dirt on one lane is not there at all and he simply takes an inside line to get around him
@@alibiisntreal In the manga there was one small spot where there was land slide (and it wasn't even at a corner), but Takumi didn't overtook Watari there like in the anime, he just caught Wataru off guard and got inside line to get the job done. The landslide section was also much longer in the anime, personally I prefer the anime version because it made this course looked even more eerie and dangerous, and also quite dramatic.
Can't believe they wasted the song like this. Waited two seasons for it to come up, and this was it. Speedy Speed Boy was way better. Wish they used Deja Vu for the race versus Ryosuke at the end of the first season.
i love how the actual song doesnt even have that big of a scene in the anime compared to its popularity
@nickgerr54it’s not in final stage
I disagree I thought this scene was absolutely massive
Not trying to argue, I do understand where you're coming from

My man went airborne to overtake and win the race. This scene was fire!
The way that the actual "deja vu" section is just bgm for his dialogue
"He's way out of my league."
Game recognizes game.
That's kind of the premise of the whole show from what I've seen so far
It's "deja vu" because Takumi noticed the gravel being worn down on each pass by the cars. Pretty clever.
I just noticed that omg

Deja vu back then: use for overtake scene in initial d
Deja vu now: use for random meme or someone running, racing, gameplay and cancer drifting
this is probably my top 3 moment in initial d, just cause of the pure shock of the other driver and takumi himself and the song fits perfectly
0:35 The side mirrors just went through each other there
Thru the power of plot armour and takumi's large steel balls. Its not that far off. He has unreal power
This takes me back. This show is always great to revisit for fun.
Takumi is a mad lad.

amazing
Finally this scene is back, I remember TH-cam seems to removed all Initial D video clips. Nice to see this back again
Because AVEX.
I DIDN'T KNOW THESE VINE SONGS CAME FROM GHIS ANIME LMAO and I love car racing so I'm gonna watch it
@@simongruber8366 Yeah I just finished the first episode lol it's great i have a lot to watch since its so old but ill binge it
This anime pretty much inspired all of racing fiction
How far are you? I'm on stage 5 right now.
@@jimastra8488 I finished the first season a while ago but haven't gotten to the next one yet
"Vine songs" Oy vey

how is this scene changed from the manga?
@@alibiisntreal the way takumi passes is different i believe, that whole thing with the dirt on one lane is not there at all and he simply takes an inside line to get around him
Yes, there is no mud in the manga and there are no spectators also

"He's way out of my league"
Thank you for reviving a meme that should have never started fading. I am going to go drift my vintage Jeep right now, on old logging roads.
This is the literal definition of "if you don't go for a gap, that exists, you are no longer a racing driver."
Toyota
Lets go places
Later Waturu Became Admirer of Takumi
And AE86 ally
0:35 *mirrors clip*
EPIC MOMENT FRRRRR
The scream of that 4A-GEU 😩
0:42 Takumi’s AE86 Sprinter Trueno jumped into ahead of Wataru’s AE86 Corolla Levin
Oh I thought oh wait shinji's is an ae86 coupe
Final episode of 2nd stage
Good ill Watch it again hahah
haha flying 86 go nyoom
I rather watch this than mission impossible
nyooooooooooooooom!
Why are 2000s cut scenes always so zoom in into something before changing scenes
Oh wait i forgot takumi defeated shinji 2 times second and fifth stage(i remember this because i watched the whole episode in TH-cam)
Of course he's out of your league. While most street racers keep smoking the asphalt, Takumi already a 24/7 rally racer.
goosebumps
