    He meant they did not trust in His finished works for their salvation, they went to establish their right standing with God based on their own works and righteousness. They were NEVER SAVED, NEVER BORN AGAIN. Therefore were NEVER KNOWN.

    • @brucewayne9831
      @brucewayne9831 2 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      why does this scare you. Jesus doesn’t say cryptic messages to catch you out, it’s very clear.
      “This is the will of my Father who is in heaven” - “that you believe on him who he has sent” - Jesus. “WHO-SO-EVER believe on him has everlasting life.” That’s from the moment you’ve believed in him forever. To put your faith in Jesus is to be saved full stop. Full stop. Full stop. One you’ve done that you can never, ever, ever loose your salvation. With that being said the context like those Jews around him in those days was people can acknowledge who he was, they called him, master, teacher, lord, some out of respect others disingenuously. Theoretically speaking, actually, it’s not even theory, it happened and Jesus speaking obviously of all the occasions says that people will say or have said “in the name of Jesus” this and or that…Luke 9:49 describes how John said to Jesus that someone was driving out demons in Jesus’, prior to being filled the spirit, they could do that whilst Jesus was alive. This, Gabriela, is the will of God. Believe in Jesus.
      John 6:40, John 17:3.

    Good job! I just want to add that Jesus was quoting from Psalms 6 when He said depart from me you workers of iniquity. Anytime there is a reference to an Old Testament passage, we should look it up to help get a fuller understanding... I'll paste it below...
    1 O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger,
    nor discipline me in the heat of Your anger.
    2 Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am weak;
    O Lord, heal me, for my bones are terrified.
    3 My soul is greatly troubled,
    but You, O Lord, how long?
    4 Return, O Lord, rescue my soul.
    Save me for the sake of Your lovingkindness.
    5 For in death there is no remembrance of You;
    in Sheol who will give You thanks?
    6 I am weary with my groaning;
    all night I flood my bed with weeping;
    I drench my couch with my tears.
    7 My eye wastes away from grief;
    it grows weak because of all those hostile to me.
    8 Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity;
    for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.
    9 The Lord has heard my supplication;
    the Lord accepts my prayer.
    10 May all my enemies be ashamed and greatly terrified;
    may they turn back and be suddenly ashamed.

Good works should be done after being saved but not required for salvation or to stay saved or to risk losing salvation.

      Faith without works is a dead faith , true faith always produces works because you actually love God when regenerated. The thief on the cross would have surely produced works if he had lived longer. You are right that our works don’t save us, but works do matter, so much so that the son had to live a perfect life for us. Works are a by product of a Christian, the result of conversion.

      @@awefaweffea4111 I believe it can be. 1, 2, 3 John talk about the marks of a true believer and assurance. A changed lifestyle is one evidence. The world sins habitually without a real remorse that leads to repentance. In contrast I believe a Christian will struggle with sin, our lives are not marked by a blatant lifestyle that is indifferent about sin. Christians are sensitive to sin because they love God and desire to obey. The fact Christians live differently is evidence of a changed heart. Jesus says if you love me you will keep my commandments. He also says, why do you call me lord lord and do not do what I say? Luke 6:46 So, a Christian will live differently due to a changed heart and it will show, but they won’t live perfectly.

The same DNA of Christ himself. An incorruptible seed never dies because it is in Christ. Any man IN CHRIST is a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5:17. The new birth does not reverse itself . Those born in original sin are sons of Adam with his “corruptible seed” in Union with Adam Romans 7 and 8. Under the law of sin and death. Every sin man has ever committed or ever will has been forgiven upon receiving Christ :”1 John 2:12. Forgiven is in perfect tense( action completed in past with results that go on forever).

      James 2 clarifies what Paul was teaching and what He meant by that and its not what most people today believe. For some reason so many use Paul to Contradict much of what Jesus teaches a true believer must do and be to be counted as a child of God so much as to say we don't even need to listen to Jesus teachings only Paul's teachings because we are gentiles. Fools there are no jews or gentiles anymore there is only those whom God knows through their faith in His Son Jesus who have followed and obeyed His plan for salvation and few it will be that makes up the great multitude in the end in comparison to the majority that will not make it into the Kingdom don't let that be you because some man comes along teaching things contrary to Jesus that sounds good but is false.

      I take that they are believers. Every believer will do works but some do Gold worth works but others straw. The ones who do straw worth work don't enter the kingdom of heaven but are cast outside the kingdom of heaven though they still have eternal life. The known to me is not about accepting the death burial and resurrection but relational in that they didn't spread the Gospel and live as holy as they should have.
      1 Corinthians 3:10-15
      According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw- each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.
      None the less who they are is a secondary issue and not a salvation issue. Why they got rebuke is important and we should not rest on the fact that Jesus died for our sins alone since we are required to live a life of fruitfulness.

    I am still a bit confused. I do not want to be judgmental of others and yet I do find myself asking if people around me, including family truly know Him. These people are missionaries and teach others, but in our daily encounters, I see other sides that are very hurtful. Often, we cannot so much as agree on interpretation of scriptures. I keep thinking, are we not connected by the fruits of our spirits? If so, why do I feel like an outsider? I can never say to them, you hurt me without it feeling like a gaslighting situation. So how do I define this? Is it immaturity on their or my part? Or is it the way it feels when I speak to them...as if we do not share Christ likeness? Or am I completely off base to think there is a connection between these behaviors and what this scripture is saying?

    Jesus came to Earth to show us how to live, how to act and what is required of us to be a follow of him. We are to deny our flesh daily and to have no part in the ways of the world.
    James 4.4
    You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.
    We are to give to the poor and help the needy. Love our neighbour like ourselves. Pray for those who hate us.!
    Matthew 5.44
    But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
    Jesus came & taught the people to keep his commandments. The commandments are still VERY much alive today and are not only for the Jewish people but for ALL people . They are a sign covenant. They are a set apart people. Jesus came celebrating the feast days (Passover and resting in Shabbat) we need to be following suit. All tho we are not saved by works we should have every desire to do them because he did them.
    John 14.15
    If you love me, keep my commands.
    Today Gods set apart feats have been trampled upon & replaces by fake events like Christmas and Easter with absolutely no biblical basis whatsoever ever. I believe the ones who did not set them selves apart nor follow his way will be the ones who he says “get away from me I never knew you”

      You're making the same error the Galatians made, which is why Paul gave them a very stern talking-to, even much more stern than he did with the church in Corinth who were living in blatant and habitual sin. What's required of us is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, since this is the will of the Father. Period. SHOULD we live right? Of course we should, but that's neither a requirement for salvation nor a requirement to keep salvation. Please show me in Scripture, without ripping verses out of context, where Scripture even says that. Believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, Paul told the Philippian jailer. No added requirement. Or did the Lord or His disciples leave a pertinent part out? I don't think so.
      No, the ones He never knew will be the ones trying to keep the Mosaic Law, who delude themselves that their works count for anything, who don't comprehend that even our best works are filthy rags, as Paul put it. Those who slap the Savior across the face, saying what He did wasn't adequate or enough, they have to add their works and law-keeping to it because they pretend to trust Christ, yet do that terrible thing. Jesus Christ alone is the narrow gate and the strait path. You give lip service about not being saved by works, yet your train of thought, your words and your actions indicate you don't believe that at all, nor have you understood the Gospel of Christ.

      @Pielun12 I didn't mean to insult, nor was there venom in my response. It's difficult sometimes to get meaning across in text because tone of voice and expression are absent. Yes, as believers we can disagree about non-essential issues. However, the issue of salvation is not a non-essential one, it's one of the core doctrines of Christianity. If a person adds works to salvation in any way, then I don't consider them a brother or sister in Christ because if that's all they've ever believed then they're not saved. This is the same false gospel the Judaizers taught that Paul dealt with in his letter to the Galatians.
      You don't even know me, yet you make many assumptions about me, like that I advocate living in sin. I don't. Sin has temporal consequences and ruins our witness to a fallen world. However, when it comes to sin, the older I get, the more aware I am of sin in my life and that sin is a condition of our fallen flesh. I don't even mean "obvious" or "big" sins, but sins many aren't even aware of. Boredom is a sin. A moment of fear or worry is a sin. Complaining is a sin. I could go on and on. We'll never be without sin as long as we're stuck in these fallen bodies. Does that mean I'm saying it's hopeless, go sin it up all you want? No, of course not. I don't know why you make that assumption going by what I said.

Do I continue reading the Bible to know more about how I should be? I've been so unsure if I'm saved or not because God grants repentance, so how do we know we have the first fruit of repentance? Maybe I'm overthinking? Has anyone wondered about this?

      @@kaxtennyaguayo6189 I would suggest you pray to God to help you overcome your fleshly desires (the part of you that doesn’t want to get close) because it’s fear that is keeping you from wanting to get close even though you know in your spirit that you actually want Jesus in your life. That’s your flesh that doesn’t want to get close. If it was your spirit that didn’t want to get close, you wouldn’t have any desire at all for the Lord with maybe the exception of seeking Him for blessings. It’s impossible for us to have any true desire for the Lord if we aren’t saved since the reason we love Him (according to scripture) is because He first loved us.
      Just admit to the Lord that you desire Him in one sense but there’s a part of you that seeks to keep from getting close to Him. From there, repent of your fear and ask for forgiveness. Then proceed to ask the Lord to give you the desire to be fully committed to Him and to help you overcome your fears/fleshly desires that hinder your walk with Him.
      I say these things to you because I’ve had to deal with the internal conflict of desiring to be in Christ but not wanting to get too close. The Lord had to show me that it was my flesh that was not wanting to get too close in the form of fear. In my case, I didn’t want to lose my identity by becoming a super churchy type of person who plays the church facade because then I’d feel fake portraying myself in such a manner. I had to repent of that mindset and I had prayed for help to desire the Lord even more and to overcome my flesh. God has been working on me ever since then and I can tell my desires are slowly changing for the better (praise God).
      You also have to come against any spirit of fear and any spirit of condemnation. God is not going to torment you with feelings of condemnation; especially in this age of grace when He would merely encourage you to get saved if you weren’t already saved. Scripture says “there is now no condemnation in Christ for those who walk in the Spirit and not the flesh.” Within the same chapter that quoted scripture is contained, it is further broken down by stating those who are in Christ are in the Spirit. Seek the Lord for strength and He will deliver you from your hindrances and fears.

      When Jesus preached, he said to repent and believe the Gospel. So listen to the state of man and the Gospel (good news), and follow Jesus.
      Humans are evil by nature tending to do and love bad things. For this reason, we deserve to go to Hell, a place of eternal torment to punish us for our sins. God is just, and he can't let any sin go unpunished. Anyone who turns away from God to love sin, for them, God will turn away from them.
      However, God loves us, even in our evilness, in that he wants us to be righteous and prosper. Therefore, he sent his holy Son Jesus Christ of Nazareth, to pay for the sins of the world. Jesus came to this Earth, did incredible things, taught amazing things, and finally completed his reason for coming. He was crucified, and on his cross, God put the sins of the world on him and punished him. Jesus died, and three days later, he rose from the dead, conquering death. Sin must be punished, so God punished sin through Jesus, so our sins can be placed on Jesus, who paid for it.
      God has a requirement for anyone wanting to recieve this atoning sacrifice. We must put our faith, our trust, in God and his Son. By God's amazing grace through our faith in him, our sins can be placed on Jesus, paid, and forgiven. Furthermore, God will save us to love righteousness and hate sin. Now we can have eternal life, not because we deserve it by our deeds, but because God was gracious to forgive us and just to pay for our sins.
      If you want to learn about Christianity to put your faith in it and follow it, you should read the Holy Bible, starting from the New Testament. The first 4 books are the Gospels, telling the story and teachings of Jesus. The next book (Acts) is about what happened after Jesus' resurrection and how the church was founded. The next books are epistles or letters from the apostles to different churches, and they have a lot of wisdom. Then there is the book of the Revelation (which I strongly recommend waiting to read because it can be hard to understand because of symbolism) which describes the end of the world and Jesus' return.

    Yes, but this verse isn't dealing with verbal utterance of false believers. Its dealing with those who sincerely thought they were true believers and the signs Jesus said would follow true believers ( Mark 16:17,18)
    This verse ( Matt. 7:21-23)has always been taught to happen at the great white throne Judgement ( the Judgement of the damned). Rev. 20.. Where those who even thought they were on Jesus' side will be..notice the fact that the " prophesied and cast out demons in his name, perform miricles" notice also the fact that Jesus never denied this fact. How could someone who never had a relationship with Jesus cast out demons or prophesy or do miracles? When those are attributes of someone saved as its taught....even Judas Iscariot was given the ability to cast out demons in Jesus said that he chose all 12 of his disciples, and one of them is a devil? But Jesus also said a house divide cant stand...this going with what He said about Satan being divided against himself..

      Hey! I can understand why you're fearful, it must be hard to really want to do things for God but not be able to. However, I don't think you need to be afraid of being condemned by God, because "there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1). "It is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9). "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent." (John 6:29) and many, many other parts of Scripture that make it clear that we are not saved from God's judgement by ANYTHING we can do, because we fall so far short of God's standard that if our salvation depended on us doing good things, no one would be good enough except Jesus himself. Instead, we are ONLY saved by Jesus taking the punishment for our sin on himself. Jesus took all of the condemnation we would have gotten, so now we can truly say that despite what we deserve, if we believe in the One God has sent, we have no condemnation. So while I can understand why you're afraid, and I worry about whether my salvation is secure all the time, you and I don't need to fear any condemnation because of anything to do with what we're doing. If you're doing the work of God-- which Jesus himself said is simply believing in him--, then you're saved from God's judgement, and in the words of Jesus again, "whoever comes to me I will never drive away." (John 6:37b.) Still, it must be incredibly hard not to be able to do things that you want to do out of love for Jesus, like sharing the gospel and remembering Scripture. Something that may be encouraging is Ephesians 2:10, which says that we were "created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." God has already prepared good works for you to do, which means that even if you have no idea what they'll be or how you're going to be able to do them, God has already planned them in advance-- which means that God HAS good works for you to do. God knows everything you've been through, and understands that you can't remember Scripture. He is still with you and still has plans for you, even though you might not know what they are or how they could actually happen. God used Moses to attempt to convince Pharaoh to let the Israelites out of slavery, even though Moses struggled with speaking. God used David to be Israel's king even though in the beginning he was a tiny shepherd boy and the youngest of a whole bunch of older, stronger brothers. God is able to use you do glorify himself, despite your struggles-- in fact, he may even use your struggles to show how powerful he is! In short, no one who believes that Jesus's death and resurrection has taken away their sin and therefore made them right with God ever has to fear that God will condemn them for their sins. The condemnation already happened two thousand years ago. And despite how it may seem, God does have plans for good works for you to do for him. I will be praying for you, my sibling and friend. I'm sorry for everything that you've been through, and I pray that God looks after you. I pray that he gives you assurance of the fact that through Jesus, you are saved, and that he uses you to glorify himself.

I used the intimate nature of our relationship with Jesus, and desiring to please the One we love, obeying His commands, especially to love others. It begins in Genesis when Adam "knew" his wife, Eve. On into John 10--"I know my own and my own know me."--Jesus Thumbs up, good stuff.

    Good video. Great subject!
    My comment is for comment readers to help to clarify.
    A more clear version for this scripture is the New English Version which shows us that iniquity is lawlessness.
    Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’"
    The most direct answer I found is John 10:27 "My sheep listen to My voice; I KNOW them, and they follow ME."
    Many think Paul said that the law was done away with. No more commandments? Nope! Be careful of Paul. Peter, who Jesus told to care for his sheep said so in 2Peter 3:14 "Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. 15And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, 16as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are HARD to UNDERSTAND, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own DESTRUCTION, as they do the other Scriptures. 17You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the ERROR of LAWLESS people and lose your own stability."
    In a nutshell what is required is in Revelation 14:12 "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."
    Commandment #4 is to keep the Sabbath. If you think it is Sunday you are following the catholic church. That is their canon 29.
    "Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honouring the Lord's Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ."
    This directly contradicts God's 4th Commandment. What did Jesus say about that? Matthew 5:19 "So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
    Here is the 4th Commandment from Exodus: 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10but the SEVENTH day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God, on which you must not do any work-neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant or livestock, nor the foreigner within your gates. 11For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, but on the seventh day He rested. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy."
    So if you think that Paul said just pick a day, that would be wrong. Plus you arent to buy or sell on that day. So much for going out to lunch after service. (I miss that!)
    Here is a scripture that shows how important it is to God. Ezekiel 20:20 "And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God."
    It used to mean the death penalty to anyone who broke the Sabbath. They tried to trap Jesus with it to kill him.
    Soon the Ten Commandments will be revealed just like when Moses surprised everyone as they danced around the idol in the movie. That day is coming again. Just about everything in the bible repeats. Most will be caught off guard- without oil for their lamps. I struggle trying to keep the Ten Commandments. There are really 613, so I am no holier than anyone. But I dont want anyone to be fooled. So dont believe me. Look into it for yourself.
    Ron Wyatt found the Ark of the Covenant with the Ten Commandments. Check him out on youtube.
    Blessings to all who seek truth and Glory to The Most High!

      Also Gal 2:16 '..but the faith OF Jesus, the Messiah! Hís faithfulness, not ours, HAS saved us and we HAVE received God's perfect righteousness'. (as if we've never sinned).
      'Even king David himself speaks to us regarding the complete wholeness that comes inside a person when God's powerful declaration of righteousness is heard over our life. I've had this exact discussion for about 7 years now 😄
      We are Israel, woven into the olive tree as the wild branch, the new covenant didn't abolish the law, it abolished the condemnation of sin and death. Would we say that the law of honoring your parents is gone too? Of course not.
      Paul says "shall we sin so that grace may abound? Heaven no, if anything we UPHOLD the law"
      Replacement theology teaches that the church replaced Israel, it's a new idea, new doctrine, far from biblical. We are descendents of Abraham, that's the gospel, through this one seed Yeshua, we are woven in, into what? Israel.
      Messiah being The "end"of the law is simply the "bullseye target" the finished perfect example of how we should try to live, it's not the end as in abolished... Matthew 5:17 Yeshua said he did not come to do away with the law.
      Look into the Hebrew understanding of the covenants 🙂

      Absolutely in agreement in what you shared!
      Jesus said in John 10:34 'The scriptures cannot be denied or found to be in error.. ', therefore I love to use scripture when sharing the word of God :)
      Yes, Jesus did say he did not come to set aside the law of Moses, but then he goes on in saying..
      Matt 5:17,18 Fulfillment of the Law “If you think I’ve come to set aside the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets, you’re mistaken. I have come to fulfill and bring to perfection all that has been written. Indeed, I assure you, as long as heaven and earth endure, not even the smallest detail of the Law will be done away with until its purpose is complete'.
      This completion was brought to an end at the cross, as the cross has made everything new and fresh. Everything means nothing excluded.
      Yes, we are the Israel, the real Jew as Rom 2:28,29 have it, plus Gal 6:14-16.
      'You are not a Jew if it’s only superficial-for it’s more than the surgical cut of a knife that makes you Jewish. But you are Jewish because of the inward act of spiritual circumcision-a radical change that lays bare your heart. It’s not by the principle of law, but by power of the Holy Spirit. For then your praise will not come from people, but from God himself !'
      And then the beauty of the law we now wánt to live by. Not to achieve (work for) the righteousness of God, but simply because we received it as a gift from the Father when we believe in the Son!
      Gal 3:16 + Rom 4:6..
      'We know that the moral code of the law is beautiful when applied as God intended, but actually, the law was not established for righteous people, but to bring conviction of sin to the unrighteous. The law was established to bring the revelation of sin to the evildoers and rebellious, the sinners without God, those who are vicious and perverse, and to those who strike their father or their mother, sinners, murderers, rapists, those who are sexually impure, homosexuals, kidnappers, liars, those who break their oaths, and all those who oppose the teaching of godliness and purity in the church! They are the ones the law is for'. 1Tim 1:8,9
      We áll are blessed in the Seed of Abraham, Jesus the Christ! 👌🐑👏
      OT - circumcision of the flesh; done by human.
      NT - circumcision of the heart; done by the Spirit.

    Jesus said this is how you (know) that you know me if you keep my commandment. >
    Not to be saved but because you are and truly been saved by Christ and have been sealed by the Holy Spirit and given a new heart and mind change a turning from sin.
    God is love and it says love fulfills the law.
    So the Holy Spirit is Love that comes to live in us our helper.

    "I never knew you" means you did not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ while you were still living on earth. By relationship, I mean receiving communication from Him and acting on His instructions which are specific to you and nobody else.

      No Ma'am...you do not have authority to REVERSE what Jesus said.
      Are you a Luciferian ?
      He clearly said *"I NEVER KNEW YOU"* because they were *"WORKERS OF *INIQUITY/LAWLESSNESS"**
      Read the words...NAMES CAN BE BLOTTED OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE:
      Rev.3:5
      Rev.22:18-*19
      Not in the Book, He dont know you
      If you were in the book and your name is blotted out, He NEVER knew you...same as He FORGETS sins of the penitant/"REMEMBER YOUR SINS NO MORE", He can FORGET you were ever in the Book.
