I love how you pointed out that goodness begets goodness, and evil begets evil. It's so true that our individual thoughts and actions contribute to the whole of what goes on in groups. We have responsibility because we have influence. What we do matters. And the more we submit ourselves to Christ and follow His way, the more we can bring light into the darkest of groupthink places. Recently, I've seen different videos on social media showing groups of different protestors. A reporter will interview someone from the group, and ask them key questions regarding the issue for which they are protesting. Much of the time, these individuals cannot answer the basic and important questions. They receive a message inviting them to protest, they have a vague understanding of justice, and so they give themselves over to the cause of the group without really knowing what it is that they are getting themselves into. I think this is how individuals with a conscience can be amalgamated into a conscienceless organism. Critical thinking and curiosity have been lost in favour of being "right" or being part of a "just cause". Spot on as ever, and another valuable and important video. Thank you!
This is so spot on, man. I hear people talking about society getting better or progressing, while I see freedoms being given/taken away and truth being devalued. It’s only getting better for the people who have the control and are getting more of it. I appreciate you making these videos and talking about these topics. Dr. Peck was correct in his assessment in the 80’s and I think he’s been proven more correct over time.
I want to understand why this phenomenon is the case, that we regress under stress. It seems very counterintuitive in certain ways. I can understand how a more primal instinct can serve a function in the fight or flight perspective, but not the childlike state. My second thought is that what you’re saying here gives a lot of weight to the importance of individual responsibility in the sense that a group of individuals choosing to lean into the numbing effects of stress and the childlike elements could also reach critical mass as a group of individuals taking responsibility via some focused choices and make a world of difference.
I'm an old lady and I notice over the past few decades we've been like the proverbial frog in the pot. It's come to a boil now.

Your commentary is excellent by the way. ❤
Thanks for watching and engaging!
I have seen the evil one person can do to a group at work. They call it workplace bullying, but it is really just narcissism.
Spot on!
