Adding to what you say about the reaction to the new movies, I do believe this will be true for TLJ (you can actually see many people changing their opinions on it in recent years), but not so much for RoS (it's just a really bad movie). Also, I gasped when you said the E.R. thing, I was familiar with the case but didn't know about that connection. 28:00 I think the thing about the prequels' backlash at the time had to do with people expecting something to top Return of the Jedi instead of the beginning of the story. Lucas' run of Star Wars is a rare case of a series where you're supposed to go in chronological order instead of release order and I think Lucas himself was very aware that people are going to be underwhelmed and confused until all three of them were out. The prequels are all set up for the original trilogy and there's not going to be much in there that you wouldn't have already imagined from what you were told if you saw the original trilogy first so it's kind of a given that they were going to be seen as pointless when they came out, people wanted the next best thing not setup for the already best thing. I think the recent love for the prequels is definitely mostly nostalgia from younger generations but also a good deal of people finally watching the full saga as intended which turns the prequels from disappointing slop to three really interesting movies that ask a lot of questions that get answered in episodes 4-6. If it were just nostalgia the prequel defending you see wouldn't be this strong. There's definitely going to be a resurgence of popularity for the sequel trilogy from nostalgia from more recent generations, I can speak for this because I have soft spot for episode 7 as I saw it in theaters for my 12th birthday, but I kind of don't think it would be as strong as the prequel's revival. A lot of the criticism for the sequels have to do more with the excessive reliance on fanservice and just being really aimless all around while with the prequels at the very least you have to admit that it was very carefully planned out and had a very clear intention of what it was trying to be. But you never really know with this kind of stuff right. I know this doesn't have much to do with the overall video but what you brought up in the bonus section is something I think about a lot 😅 Episode II forever mein goat
