It’s crazy how far the world has come with its technological advances in everything, yet the face that stop motion has lost it’s importance in filmmaking makes me wish I was born earlier

I’m 25, when Brickfilms like Forrestfire101 were just getting started I was there to see those first few. Lego was the most important thing we had. Seeing them come to life with inappropriate jokes was euphoric for us 9 year olds exploring early TH-cam.

I am shocked and appalled by the lack of recognition for the greatest brickfilm of all time; “I am watching you pee”

My first experience with lego animation was a series of lego star wars 501st clone wars films by Pizzamovies. I use to watch those videos a lot when i was 5(ish). I then went on to watch brickfilms by forrestfire101 and keshen8. Those were some of the best brickfilms i have ever watched, fluid and creative. These days though, i mostly watch videos from the lego doctor who community.
The lego star wars community has been getting some really good videos though from some polish TH-camr's

I like your comprehensive list of films.
I grew up with 2000s brickfilms and have been making them since 2010, I am grateful that you made a deep dive into so many brickfilms- a lot of which I haven’t heard of.
I agree with your sentiment regarding the polished nature of modern brickfilming, but I can guarantee you that there are others out there who are still brickfilming in the 2000s spirit. I’m sure you’ll like GeigerFilms‘ „Order 66 be like…“ brickfilm because it has the sort of charm and humor that was abundant in the 2000s, only that it has a great video quality because it was made in the 2020s xD
The brickfilms I make are also pretty 2000s in a conceptual and literal sense. My studio space hasn’t changed much since 2010 (for better or for worse), and a lot of my movies have references to stuff that influenced me in the late 2000s such as Blobstudios, LegoDude8000, Hunterkiller1440, Termitaterbrickflicks, 101dude, xxxfancypantsxxx, pizzamovies, and Forrestfire101.
Again, I’m so thankful that you made this video because you shined a light on my generation and preceding generations that I was hoping would not be buried under the unpredictably fast course of time that the internet possesses.

Forrestfire101 was what got me into loving brickfilms. Pizzamovies' Lego Star Wars 501st Legion videos were also my favorite brickfilms back when I was young.

I remember the maritime disaster-themed Brickfilms of Thomas Lynskey, aka Part-Time Explorer back in the day. His LEGO Titanic animation and unfinished Lusitania animation were both amazing to see back when I was young. Heck, he even mentioned it when building a LEGO Titanic set by the company Histobrick.. Man, what a ride remembering a lot of this stuff was. Great vid, man.

This was such a great video, man it’s been forever since I’ve seen Forest Whaley’s videos. Back in the day he was awesome. I’d even say he was one of those TH-camrs who made me wanna become one, may have taken me years, but I eventually did it!

I completely agree, i loved these old stop motion videos, id watch the lego star wars and transformer ones all the time.
I always wanted to make my own but i never had a camera, but now i have a phone and a stop motion app, so im finally able to make some of the ideas i had come to life

Brickfilms and specifically Army Men stop motion films use to be the main thing i'd watch on youtube when I was younger, but a lot of the older ones i use to watch just seem to have been wiped from the site. Frankly sometimes it seems theres not a lot of people who even remember videos like that existed.

Same here. Its sad to see how many from that era have seemingly disappeared. Also despite the seemingly fairly large number of people who watched brickfilms, it seems few remember or acknowledge them, and I find that sad.

I've been losing my mind trying to find a brickfilm that was uploaded here on TH-cam over a decade ago. It was a very well done professional stop motion of an infiltration mission on an arctic base. Some special elite unit taking guys out and sneaking into the facility. Was pretty mature for a brick animation. Inside they would get into a firefight and the camera switched to a first-person perspective; the first time I think that had ever been done. Once they got to the point of interest it was revealed that the base was harboring alien lifeforms in test tubes. If anyone knows what happened to this video or it's creator and what it's called I would greatly appreciate it!

This was a huge nostalgia trip for me. Brickfilms were pretty much the only things I watched when I first got into TH-cam when I was young. TH-camrs like Keshen8, Forrestfire, Michaelhickox, Haqq17, Fancy Pants, Steadman Studios, Golfcrazenes, Customlegominifigure along with many others hold a special place in my heart.
