This guy was great! No awkwardness at all talking about growing breasts and pelvic floor strength.

I’ve been running for my whole life literally since I was in 4th grade cross country and track. I am 18 weeks pregnant now but I was so nervous to continue running because right before I found out I was pregnant I felt so heavy running so I did stop for a little. When my doctor said it was okay I definitely felt better. Just did a nice mile today to slowly get back into it😊

Do you know Jesus Christ can set you free from sins and save you from hell today
Jesus Christ is the only hope in this world no other gods will lead you to heaven
There is no security or hope with out Jesus Christ in this world come and repent of all sins today
Today is the day of salvation come to the loving savior Today repent and do not go to hell
      Come to Jesus Christ today
Jesus Christ is only way to heaven
Repent and follow him today seek his heart Jesus Christ can fill the emptiness he can fill the void
Heaven and hell is real cone to the loving savior today
Today is the day of salvation tomorrow might be to late come to the loving savior today
      Romans 6.23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
      John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
      Mark 1.15
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
      2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
      Hebrews 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
      Jesus

Somebody from my ParkRun ran a sub 30min 5k and gave birth just 5 days later.
Congratulations Rick & Chantel on your pregnancy and all the best for the future.

Surprised this video didn’t address the increased need to pee!! This was something I faced when pregnant and is a common complaint I’ve heard from other pregnant runners. I stopped running about halfway through my pregnancy but kept working out at the gym at moderate intensity until the day before I went into labor. The main reason is that there are bathrooms at the gym!! If you plan to run when pregnant, especially later in your pregnancy, you may find that you need to plan your routes around bathroom availability!

Thank you for this very informative video! I just hit 5 months in my pregnancy, and this information is incredibly timely (though I know it was posted a year ago, I'm just finding it now!). Everything she talked about (the stride difference, the weight increase in the abdomen, etc.) are things I'm wrestling with. Right before I became pregnant, I ran a half marathon and was running a sub-25-minute 5k. Now I struggle with the changes to my joints, muscle elasticity, and lung capacity. It's been difficult emotionally and physically because I've been holding myself to my pre-pregnancy standards. I really appreciate this realistic and grounded approach to running. Love the channel, and I appreciate this information!

Im a runner and pregnant, running for 11 years before I was pregnant. I think your body will tell you what feels right - slower pace and lower intensity will naturally happen. I also use FitSplint belly support belt, which I think just makes it feel better to run while pregnant!

When I was pregnant with my second, a coworker told me she had run throughout her pregnancy. I was not a runner at that point, and I thought she was nuts and had been putting her baby at risk and being selfish. It blew my mind. Here I am with pregnancy three running a couple of times a week comfortably.

I feel like they should touch on diastasis recti when talking about core strength when pregnant. While pregnant, there is nothing you can do to stop/fix it other than supporting the abdomen. "Focusing on core strength" might encourage someone to do core activities which can definitely worsen the separation.

Thanks Krystal. We have a number of videos about pregnancy and running in the pipeline - the next one’s about getting back to running post-pregnancy which will cover diastasis recto 👍

Seriously I am so happy I have been TTC for 10months so I was so worried am not getting pregnant, and I have unnecessary spotting between my periods, I asked my husband let's start jogging my husband he is a good runner we started it was not easy I just put effort and have been jogging just within 1months of my regular jogging I got pregnant omg I was so surprised 😲 jogging makes you sound active and very happy. I am not quitting till I put to bed I am still jogging because I found something special in jogging and I have no pain or what so ever I sleep very well too!

I'm 5mos and I have recent pain when walking (left upper inner thigh) - specifically where the inner thigh meets the pelvic area. Currently, I am running an average of 2.5 miles 6 days/week with lunges and squats. I was told that the ligaments stretch and grow - has anyone experienced this pain? I assume I need a day or two off and skip the squats, but I just love running... I can say, I haven't had anyone say anything to me about running in public... then again, most folks are asleep or busy on their way to work. Every now and then I can hit 4-5 miles, but that's been few and far between lately.

I absolutely ran throughout my pregnancies, but at home on a treadmill. Just hearing of those horror stories happening to runners in public, added to the woman's greater vulnerability during pregnancy, kept me indoors in safety..but that's just me.

Post partum-What about not being able to run before the baby has nursed? emptying both breasts may still not keep you from leaking while running. Great bra and pads are necessary plus having any opportunity to either leave the house or own a treadmill.
I could barely walk-hormones caused tachycardia even when sitting still.
Congratulations to you two. I’m hoping you can keep running. Good exercise matters always. Healthy mom & dad; opportunities for healthy kids.

Been running long distance since was little
I am in my fourth pregnancy and people still think I shouldn't work out during pregnancy
I start working out and walking and short runs aka normal life 24 hours to 26 hours after birth depends on when they let me out of the hospital

Hello, I’m a regular runner training for a full marathon. Can I do marathon in 5 or 6 weeks pregnancy?

    • @runningchannel
      @runningchannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Rama, thanks for your questions and congratulations on your pregnancy! As a rule, running is generally safe during pregnancy. If you were a runner pre-pregnancy, continuing your routine is totally fine. As the video says, consult with your doctor before undertaking a distance as long as a marathon. Best of luck, and keep us updated on how you get on!
