    We just found out we are pregnant with number four too 😊 Like you, my cycles are inconsistent but, through our church sponsored marriage prep classes, my husband and I learned how to read my body's signs and it's how we've gotten pregnant in the past. Now, at 42 years old, we are beyond excited to expand our family! I also had very similar signs of pregnancy and knew I was pregnant before I took the test- I feel like the symptoms have been the worst they've ever been! But I'm looking forward to doing the pregnancy program and the 12 week pp soon!

    Oh my gosh. As a runner for the past couple years, recently finding out I was pregnant I was at first heartbroken because I thought I was going to have to give my fitness journey a back seat. When I’m exactly 10 weeks I am planning on running a 10k (and I will be enjoying it rather than pushing myself obviously). Hearing that my personal record can increase after childbirth given everything goes well is the most relieving and inspiring thing I can hear right now. As a first time mom I totally relate on feeling devastated that my pre-kid body and self is dissolving before my eyes everyday but your encouragement and knowledge in this video alone is everything I needed to hear today. Thank you so much, I just subscribed and will be watching more of your videos!

      John 3:16-21
      16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

    Amen! I needed to hear that bit at the end. I ran 2 marathons in 2020 before COVID and got a sub 4 PR. Then racing stopped and everything changed and now being pregnant I feel at times hopeless like I’ve lost that joy piece of my life forever. Stoked to hear about the cardio gains and with my husbands support I have that glimmer of hope that I can marathon again and get a new PR. I swear I’m not crying.

    Thank you so much for this video. I don’t like hearing about the waste band being a band aid for another issue because running helped keep me sane towards the end of my pregnancy and I had to use one. Although you are probably right, I wish there was a healthy option to provide support. I also really appreciated your honest experience and I can really relate. Thank you so much!!!

    Runner/jogger before pregnant for years, 3 times a week. I stopped jogging at 5 weeks when I found out and my heavy heavy 24/7 morning sickness and vomiting started immediately until 12 weeks..I had to take unisom and b6 day and night but the fatigue also was 10/10 so i failed jogging, even walking was so challenging where i was short of breath right away. I was SOOOO miserable without jogging/running...then those improved, I could walk week 12-13 3x a week, and now on week 14, I jogged twice this week 20-30 min, stopping to breathe when needed!!! Feel great again those endorphins and looking more toned overall... I will try to hear my body into 3rd trimester. Hopefully I can jog all the way bc my mental health really does well with jogging

    I'm 25 weeks and started running again after three and a bit months of severe fatigue /nausea that left me essentially bedbound. It's lovely and makes me so so happy 😍 I've always been a runner for pleasure, anywhere from 5 to 50km. Just doing intervals of walking and jogging to get my cardio system and legs used to the new weight and balance changes 😊 it's made a huge difference to my mental health and energy levels. I do have a GPS watch, but it's to keep my heart rate and distance limited, not maxed out haha - to make sure I don't build my mileage too fast and risk injury (as I have before because I get too enthusiastic!) 😊 good luck mamas!

    I’m 45, pregnant about 3 weeks post embryo transfer. I’ve been a regular runner most of my life logging 40-50 miles per week. My question is in North Carolina, I regularly run trails. Any tips for trail running? Recommend over road running or do I need to switch? I plan to shoot for familiar trails that are wide double track and clear to be on the safe side. Thanks!

    Amazing video full of great tips!
    I used to run 2 times a week before I got pregnant, but then in the first weeks of pregnancy got a lot of backpain so I stopped running for a while. I started some fysiotherapie to work on that. Since a couple of weeks it's better and I really want to start running again. At this moment I'm 16 weeks pregnant and went for a little 3km run on a very slow pace and enjoyed it so much! ❤️

    I was running for a few days per week and completely stopped exercising when I found out I was pregnant. I'm now 8 weeks and my body is feeling the difference of no exercise. My doctor said I have high blood pressure and now I wanna get back to running (lightly) to help lower it.

    I think I watched this video twice, it's so full of useful information! I was quite said when an informed and old obgyn told me not to run in the first trimester just because it's "tiring" and I should relax, but after having watched this video and consulted other specialists, I understood that stopping running abruptly would harm me more... I need the endorfines of a good, slow run and enjoy being fit and feeling strong!
    So... Run mummies, run! 😃

      Unfortunately I think I have to give up running for the moment: it turned out I'm expecting monozytic twins and my body will be stressed out a lot, so I don't feel safe stressing it even more running... I don't know, I may be wrong, but the doctors said that it's a risky kind of pregnancy and I should rest. But I'm working out with your videos, doing yoga and walking a lot 😊

    3 questions
    1. Where can I find the article you mentioned pertaining to running while pregnant? I looked on your blog but could not find it maybe I miss-looked.
    2. I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant and finding it difficult to run. On the days that your pregnancy plans suggests to run what other workouts can I do. I don’t want to be doing the same ones and cause an injury.
    3. While you’ve been pregnant how do you make yourself wake up early or at the same time every day. Are their any books you recommend reading. I’m on my 5th pregnancy and having a hard time waking up at a consistent time every day.

    Your videos always have such great information. Wish I'd had this for my first pregnancy. I ran too long and didn't listen to my body and got severe pelvic pain. Then my second pregnancy I stopped suddenly at the end of first trimester because I already started feeling pelvic pain, but should have eased out as you describe here. I did keep walking a lot though. Then later I had to stop swimming suddenly too because the pools shut down due to covid-19 🤦

      Exactly, my gynae recommended just slow walks. My pregnancy was absolutely normal and healthy. And baby too. I was also exercising really well (gym+running) before getting pregnant. I also luckily had nothing problematic in medical history. Still she recommended just walking. I decided to listen to my own body in place of her. And continued exercising. Right now, i am in 28th week and feeling stronger than before. My gym performance with weights has gotten better, probably due to iron and calcium intake owing to pregnancy.

    Have you trained pregnant woman with twins??? I’m having twins, and I want to competitively run the Chicago, marathon with the World Vision team in my seven month of pregnancy with these twins.
    I have full confidence and a lot of excitement around achieving this goal however, I usually sat very crazy goals. And my husband told me all the time that Rome wasn’t built in a day.
    I need some expert advice on running marathons, competitively, while being pregnant with twins with a due date in the last trimester of pregnancy .
    I have run casually, many marathons and competitively many marathons . I’ve also run while pregnant with my last child and I was also training competitively for a marathon. I’ve completed an ultra marathon, which is 52 miles marathon and I didn’t even train for it. I just did it for fun. I thought my body thought that I would die but my mind told me that I was having fun and I was achieving something that nobody else did so it was a lot of fun, and in hindsight taught me so many lessons in life.

    • @glowbodypt
      @glowbodypt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Angela, it's Ashley. Congratulations on expecting twins! Clearly you are a high achieving, driven and focused woman. I've trained so many women with twin pregnancies who are also female athletes like yourself. Despite your extensive history, high VO2 max and volume base, I 100% do not recommend racing Chicago at 7 months pregnant. Your future potential postpartum is unlimited after you heal your ab gap (Diastasis Recti) and re-tone your pelvic floor to be able to handle the massive intra abdominal pressure that comes from running again postpartum. Get the 12 Week Post Pregnancy Plan once you are 2 weeks out from delivery (or sooner). Start using the Mom Cookbook instantly. There is no other program I'd ever do for myself after having babies than the 12 Week Post Pregnancy, and you'll be able to run *alongside* the plan too once you're past 8-9 weeks pp or once you feel ready to slowly ease into running again. Quick watch regarding pp recovery and how I get back into running laying the FOUNDATIONAL layer first: th-cam.com/video/NoBvs0s_ub8/w-d-xo.html

      @@glowbodypthi Ashley - thanks for taking the time to respond. I hear you loud and clear. No marathon at seven months with twins.
      However, I recently got some new news from my OB . We lost one of the babies. It wasn’t a miscarriage. The doctor calls it “ vanishing twin syndrome” … Basically my body had twins during month 2 pregnancy, but in month three one of the twins was not big enough. The doc says it’s not a miscarriage, because the baby just resorbed into my body. No blood no pain. And he said it’s also very common in twins, during the first trimester. Obviously, we were very excited about having twins. But more importantly, we trust that God’s plan is better than our own plan.
      Proverbs 3:5-6
      I reached out to you as a coach, because I also know that you have a great relationship with the Lord .
      I believe that God put me on this planet to help people find and follow Christ. And the way that I do that, one way that I do that, is through my running.
      Now that it is certain that we only have one baby. Do you think it’s possible for me to run the marathon at seven months?
      I don’t even need to run . If all I can do is walk the marathon, then I just wanna give it my all.
      Philippians 4:13
      I watched the video that you linked about Diastasis recti and I have to say, that I don’t think I experienced much of that at all. I had an eight pack before I had my first child. And in 2021 - When I gave birth to our first child my abs came back completely within two weeks. I couldn’t believe it. It’s definitely a miracle from God. But I looked exactly the same in my core and abdominals after two weeks postpartum.
      My doctor attributes that to the extensive core work that I’ve done since I was a teenager. I’ve been just as intentional with my core routine as I have been my running for the last 20 years.
      Additionally, my first baby was a C-section. He was breach the entire time, every ultrasound we had showed baby was breach. I never felt any tumbling or turning of any kind the entire pregnancy.
      But baby was always healthy, always kicking and always moving. Just not turning head down
      My theory is that many of my abdominal muscles did not stretch as much as many women do. This kept baby from tumbling and moving head down.
      Since I had a c section with baby 1, my OB says that it is always a good idea to do baby 2 as a C-section as well. Given that once you have a C-section scar, if you try to give birth naturally, there is high likelihood that the scar will rip open and that’s very risky for baby and me.
      My OB , who always promotes natural labor, and I’ve always wanted a natural delivery, has highly encouraged me to except the fact that maybe two and the future children will continue to be C-section.
      The upside of having a C-section though is my pelvic floor has a stayed completely intact or at least much much better than most pregnant athletes that I know. After baby one, I started running after one month, I felt great, my vitals from the doctor great, I never felt depressed or any sort of emotional negativity. I was simply on cloud nine, because I have the best baby in the world, the best husband in the world, and I’m able to run happily without pp complications like others do.
      All that to say, I think I’m a rare case. I think my body jumps back much much more quickly, then other pregnant athletes.
      And I’m hoping still, that with your coaching, I can run/walk a marathon this October

    Hi, I don't know if being a bit of a runner 7 months ago counts as able to do a bit of jogging now? I did the PP plan, then the Walk to 5K from the 10min pack, then did a 36min 5k on Thanksgiving and worked out like once or twice a month since. I'm 15 weeks and the midwife wants me walking two miles a day. Who has time for that? Once I get really on top of that can I add in a little bit of jogging? My blood pressure is great.

    So I don’t run much, during pregnancy I hit the treadmill about 3-4 times a week running only about 3 miles. I used to run 4 miles about 5-6 times a week before pregnancy. Is this laughable? Am I doing something that’s going to make a positive difference for me and my baby?

    • @glowbodypt
      @glowbodypt  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are doing MORE than enough right now. This is the schedule I follow, but of course you can run extra in addition to it. During pregnancy there must be a focus on adding lean muscle if you want to be strong (and keep your metabolism higher) for those 6 weeks postpartum when you will not workout at all. Running just to burn calories shouldn't be the goal....if it is, it's not the most efficient way to do so! You are better off running 2-3x per week (max) during pregnancy and focusing on resistance training + mobility work. Here is my Prenatal Program that over 60,000 women have done successfully that you can use to eliminate the brain-work of what to do, and when: www.glowbodypt.com/prenatalworkouts

    I'm currently training for my 4th marathon. It's scheduled for mid October. I'm doing it with another mom friend of mine who is brand new to running. This will by no means be a PR race for me, and that's totally fine. My pace with her is about 3-4 minutes slower per mile than it would be if I were doing the long runs and race on my own. My husband and I really want to start trying for baby #2, but I'm unsure if this is wise while building mileage. Since the pace for long runs and the marathon itself will be so slow, do you think it would still be safe to run that far while pregnant? I've tried to find info on marathon training while pregnant, but I've hardly seen anything. Is this insane to even consider?

    • @canttouchthis5985

      As long as you’re not in a lot of pain during, and you will have to be slower for sure.. also the water every 15 minutes and a spot to pee sometimes is pretty important, so as long as those things are accessible why not

This is the longest I've been off the running wagon! I've ran many 5K's, 10K's, and a few half marathons. I'm sure that I can (pretty) comfortably run 3 miles now if I wanted to since I've stayed pretty active (strength training and other forms of cardio) but am unsure if it's not wise to start running now due to the pregnancy. I appreciate any and all input! @@glowbodypt

    So I was running a lot before pregnancy and kept going until about 4 or 5 weeks when I got so sick I could barely stand. That sickness lasted until about 14 weeks and I couldn’t workout at all. I’m 21 weeks now and have been working out doing cardio, and HIIT workouts for about five weeks. I’d love to run a little and maybe do a 5k in a few months. Any tips for getting back into it? Or am I too late in pregnancy?

    • @glowbodypt
      @glowbodypt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sickness sounds AWFUL-- gosh so glad you are past that now that you're successfully 21 weeks along. Ease back into running and see how it feels! Start with a Run 4 minutes/walk 1 pattern and see how your body feels. If you feel good, you can resume running just as you were before (except you will expect a slower pace and lower mileage than you ran pre pregnancy).

      Most women aren't diagnosed w/ pre eclampsia til 20 weeks pregnant- but if you know you have it, then I do NOT recommend running. Sometimes you can get tested a bit early- check with your doctor if that's an option for you so you can make an informed decision about running or not.

    • @glowbodypt
      @glowbodypt  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You need the 12 Week Post Pregnancy Plan!! If you are past 5 months pp, do the ab workout of the week 2-3 x per week instead of once per week. These routines help tone your pelvic floor and increase DEEP INNER AB MUSCLE engagement with your pelvic floor so you can reduce and stop that pesky slow drip leak. Do NOT skip the everyday kegel routine that's inside the 12 Week Post Pregnancy Plan (on your own, no matter where you are, these help women stop incontinence within 2 weeks usually). ---> Then after that, move onto the 10 Minute Plan using the *Beginner Runner 5k* program that comes with it...then progress onto the *Advanced Runner 5k* that's also included!

    • @glowbodypt
      @glowbodypt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how your pelvic floor is healing postpartum. Watch this vid: th-cam.com/video/QXM4Nw6O6cw/w-d-xo.html I start at 7-8 weeks pp, never earlier even if I mentally feel "ready" it is best for the body to recover well up front then slowly ease in. We ease into walk jog intervals on my 12 Week Post Pregnancy Plan and since you were a runner pre-pregnancy you can feel comfortable walk/jogging intervals up to 3 days per week in Phase 2 and 3 when you feel up to it.

      If you are already in shape NOW at 4 + 5 then you'll be fine to still run your 10 mile race at about 7 weeks along. Plan to walk through every water stop (every 2 miles if not provided and take a sip of water and lower your heart rate. Your former max effort of a 10 needs to come down to a 7 now that you are pregnant. I am excited for you to still race even though you are not running for a personal best time and just doing it for fun! : )

    These are tips for people who are already runners. I haven't been able to run for a long time even before the pregnancy due to poor bladder control after my last two pregnancies. Sometimes I can't even climb stairs or do one jumping jack without losing control, let alone jog or run. There's no way I could start running now while pregnant with my pelvic floor already so weak.
