Wouldn't it be cool if you could change the laser head for a CNC head. That would give that machine so much versatile. See you in the next one.

    Hi Leo. Very impressed with the device. Would you consider it for cutting templates either of plywood or plastic , for your cutting boards. You could then create some very funky unique designs. Also what if you did a double depth cut then take out the centre to infill with resin. A bit like routing out but with a more precise shape. As you say the possibilities are infinite ♾️. As usual good luck.

    Have you managed to find any preset material libraries for this machine? Obviously they need to be machine / power specific. The ones Dark Labs provide are generic for 5 / 10w machines..
    I've set some of my own up based on their data sheet, but it would be nice to have been given / perhaps users could create a set of pre-made material settings to share with the community. Always nice not to waste material on lots of tests if Creality can provide it..

    Like the idea of the tin lid. Since this video was made, have you experimented with using the color engraving to do the lid in color? Could be worth considering doing the limited lids in color as another "tier" option

      @@Hand-i-Craft the only recommendation I have on that is to use a template for gradient to make sure the color comes out pronounced enough to your liking. Just like every other item/material, it requires sacrificing a piece to dial it in and get your liked settings for future use.

    Another good demo 👍 With regards cutting the thicker wood, how much does the cut veer away from the vertical as the wood thickness increases or does it give a perfectly vertical cut?

    • @Hand-i-Craft
      @Hand-i-Craft  ปีที่แล้ว

      The cuts with the softwoods were spot on Barry, literally the circle cuts were perfect. With the cherry it veered off quite considerably. As I say it could have been for a variety of reasons, but also trying it in one pass wasn’t the best idea, I was just pushing it to its limits to see what it could or couldn’t do 👍

      The 40 w version can do 20mm hardwood with one pass, but this one needs about 5 or 6 passes for 12-15mm hardwood. This allows the area to cool down a bit for each pass.

    For cutting thick materials, it's better to use a higher speed (like 200mm/min) and multiple passes. That works great.
