- LVMH recently took over Rolex's F1 sponsorship deal - ! It was recently announced that LVMH would join F1 as a new sponsor in 2025 in a $1,000,000,000 deal - one of the biggest sponsorships in F1 history. What exactly does this mean and will Rolex lose their F1 sponsorship? LVMH are one of the biggest companies in the world and own an array of luxury brands like Tag Heuer and Louis Vuitton - this will likely mean that Tag Heuer will take Rolex's sponsorship in Formula 1 and we are also likely to see a number of their brands across trackside signage, in the paddock and even on the podium. That's right Ferrari Trento are also out next year, so will we see Moet on the F1 podium again? Stick around to find out.

It’s going to be sad losing that classic green we see on modern f1 circuits!
classic? tag heuer was the classic one , rolex came in 2013
That green never looked good and the big Rolex is so cringe.
classic is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.
You should ask Rolex to give you one or two of those big clocks at the end of the season. You're a customer and have mentioned them enough on these videos. Come on Rolex, hook up Kym with a clock!
Yes Rolex, can I pls have one.
@@KymIllmangood luck with that request Kym, Rolex are so tricky to deal with these days.
#GiveKymIllmanhiswatch
@@hishers251 He got a ceramic Daytona from his AD. He’s good lol.
Everyone loves a big clock
The Rolex crown will be missed!
really ??.couldn’t care less
Yes, it was quite iconic by now
@@AZ-vg6li care enough to comment on a video about it 😮
As will Sir Jackie!
really? lol
TAG Heuer, are not exactly new to F1 they were the sponsor of Ferrari in the early days and Williams after that and then they bought in to McLaren, they’ve been around F1 for years. 👍
As well as a sponsor of Red Bull.
decades.
They currently (and have) sponsored the Monaco GP as well.
Vintage Heuer Carrera and Autavia models in pristine condition have appreciated tremendously recently while the Monaco made famous by Steve McQueen are still sought-after in both vintage and modern forms. With LVMH's scion Frederic Arnault at the helm, they won't be short of funds to tackle any difficulty.
Were they not the time keepers through the late 90s and early 2000s?
Rolex is indeed an iconic brand. However, I believe the TAG Heuer branding will give it a classic look and feel on the track.
Just a warning, never EVER say that in a conversation with a watch guy. 😂
IF you must make that point, only say Heuer (leave the Tag out) 😊
I know nothing about watches, but for me Rolex is the upper class parties and lawyer bragging brand while #Heuer is the sporty one.
that montage of products, and which ones Kym had handy was gold :)
As a mere mortal, this shit really disassociates me from the sport. I appreciate their money, but I honest to god can't stand 99% of the consumer base of this company
The sport is all about this, though..
I've carried lots of Louis Vuitton luggage for clients and it feels cheap to me. No clue as to the allure of that brand.
@@gearhead1162 probably legacy (aka logo) and style, I guess some deem it premium, even though the assembly probably might not be. Never seen any article/piece about the reliability of LV products over the years
Couldn't agree more.
@@adrian3355w You mean the sport TODAY is all about this.
I am no fashion icon, But damn 99% of what these clothing brands sell looks like shit 😂
Yep, shit made in sweat shops for $1 and sold for $1000
Hah Hah yes, so true. You only have to look at some of the rubbish Lewis Hamilton shows up to races in to appreciate just how bad some of "this fashion" really is!
unless you WANT to look like you stole your dad's coat or like the general Zod look.
you maybe are a fashion icon lmao
I enjoy F1 but I struggle with the wealth being touted whereby normal people like me are made to feel that were nobody's. The drivers earn their salaries no issues there, but the exploitation of extreme wealth is really off-putting to me nowadays.
F1 has become so expensive it's prohibitive to go to the Australian GP I can only afford to catch snippets on YT.
i haven't attended a GP in a while now. I cant justify the expense.
Lots of detailed information. That's what I love about a Kym Illman video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
To be fair, i'm going to miss that classic shot of the rolex clock at the beginning of a formation lap
'classic' is doing a lot of heavy lifting there
This is the smartest partnership LVMH has made to survive the e-commerce revolution. The paddock is definitely their market. It took them this long to seal that partnership! Great job, Mr Domenicali! 🎉
yes because what F1 fans have been saying for years is that F1 is too accessible and can we please make everything more expensive. remember we only want celebrities around the paddock, none of those F1 fan riff raff
Fun fact: Stewart’s left sleeve on his Rolex shirts is shorter than the right one to show off the watches.
Thanks Kym for another great video I love how much effort you put in to these videos can't wait to see your others
4 bottles on the podium not 3 . Winning team representative also gets one .
❤️love your videos
Kym often gets things wrong
oracle paying 100m just for redbull vs 150m for entire calender basically? seems like a steal for LVMH
So LVMH sells exactly nothing that normal people buy or care about.
Wrong, most of the customer base is normal people who like to pretend they’re rich!
Well rolex does not really sell anything that normal people buy either
I mean, even Rolex is the same dude.
I know a window cleaner who's wife buys LV. I, also as a normal person have a couple of Rolexs.
Rolex is not a rich persons watch brand. They're entry level luxury. Rich people watch brands, Eg. Patek Philippe, Jaeger-LeCoultre. Tag watches are not luxury watches; they're department store watches.
Loads of people buy Hennessy and Dior.
@@ashkandi1337 💯
Whenever I was in the paddock, I used to say, “everything here is authentic! The purse is not a knock off LV, the makeup is definitely CD, the eyewears are Prada. Everything is just real except the ones holding the purse!” 😅😂😂😂
4:21 PURE JOY
Dang it Kym, you didn’t swirl it before the ground bounce, for the Lando impersonation.
Hopefully, we get to meet you in Austin!
Fascinating as ever Kym, cheers!
Very insightful video, as always ! Kym👏
6:59 is there a reason Checo is not in front of Ocon? The picture looks odd
Bizarre isn’t it.
“Rawlex”
Very entertaining Kym.
Great content.
If a driver under the age of 21 podiums in the US, do they get to drink the champagne?
Take a look at F1 Academy. I believe they give them sparkling cider or similar.
It would be funny if police went after FOM for supplying alcohol to a minor. :)
Only if their mothers are absent.
In some countries, minors of age can legally consume alcohol if supervised by an adult and is at a private event. Are events like an F1 race considered private or public? It's not like anyone off the street can walk into the event.
@@Shocker99 no, it's in a public place in front of thousands of people and broadcast to the world. How could you even think that could be considered a private event?
At 5.30 min, "Of all the LVMH bubblies", Chandon (of Australia) "is the most economically priced".
F1 is all about money money money....all fun is gone, engines sucks now, will suck in even more in 26, the swearing shit... horrendous
Did you think that F1 is a charity or something? 😂
In French the company is Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, but the abbreviation is LVMH. I used to work for one of the brands in UK and we were told to comply with the above instruction even though it is illogical!
MHLV
It is quite usual for acronyms to be backward in French, because adjectives are put after nouns in French, whereas they are put in front in English.
However, in this case of course that is not the reason because it is just a sequence of brand names.
(it is the reason that e.g. NATO is called OTAN in France, for example)
I have never liked Rolex sales policy so I am glad they will not be around
PT Barnum quote "A sucker is born every minute"
Nothing compared to the NBA getting 4B just for TV rights
Hi , are you able to talk more about the Ferrari celebration camera. I have never seen that footage.
I wonder how this will affect Sir Jackie Stewart, a notable Rolex ambassador and regular attendee of F1 races.
I think he might be at a few less races next year unfortunately
@@KymIllmanThere's two more factors to consider: 1) His wife is suffering from dementia and 2) He's 85, so he won't be jetting around the world forever.
Excellent info, thank Kym 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Less of Jackie...😢
1:00 Six hundred sixty-two billion, one hundred twenty-nine million, four hundred twenty-one thousand, five hundred ninety-four South African Rands
Why did you type that out?
I thought you were going to end that with “bottles of beer on the wall”
Where can I buy the Rolex......un-to be used F1 clocks seen at the tracks, if TAG are taking over?
Do you think 2025 AUS GP will have the biggest amount of people?
Nice pitch to LVMH to become an official marketing representative 😂🎉 I see what you did there ! ❤ they’d be mad not to.
Fun fact louis vuitton is getting into the actual luxury watch business. Not the designer as they've already been in there. I assume that this is to heavily back their branding and new watch makers coming to the market. To compete with the likes of rolex richard mille and audemars piquet
Thanks for the video Kym. It’s sad to see an American company as liberty media is making billions of dollars off of Formula One and don’t seem to have the money to add to the prize pool if they added another team specifically an American team.
4:12 anyone doing this should be put on a "light" red Interpol alert - so when caught they get fined 100 times the value of the bottle...:)
Serious fail on champagne kym 🎉
Novice effort
I went to Monza this year and there were big piles of empty Ferrari boxes at the back of the hospitality grandstands. No wonder they get through 60,000 bottles!
next we're gonna see Louis Vuitton bucket hats
Their junior brand? Tudor is an amazing brand in its own right! But it’s the sister brand to Rolex both founded by the same man. Hans Wilsdorf
Abu Dhabi GP changed to Sprite in bottle as rose water didnt fizz enough
F1 is glitz & glamor, playboys and always the sexy girls.
They take out 4 bottles of champagne 3 for the drivers and 1 for the winning team personnel.
I take particular note of your statement as to what you have seen close up over your 7 years. Hugely money driven - as they say "follow the money" - and you will know whats going on and why. Thanks for the insights.
Personally, I'd like to see more of the Zenith star, vs more T-H shields on the track--LVMH should showcase the other offerings from their horological stable.
And your Sponsorship deals 💰💰💰💰💰💰 What ever they are good on you 👍 Grab what ever you can 👍 Thanks for sharing 👍👍
2020 Topps Hamilton card #144 w/ Rolex background 📈
But these brands don’t promote their f1 association outside f1 or create special f1 products
crazy but LVMH does not need to advertise
F1 will need to get on the waiting list to get Rolex back.
you are doing it rearly well......
New camera ?
Yes
Hi Kym, something completely different, would you consider putting together a 2025 wall calendar of some of your best pics from 2024? I would certainly buy one if you do.
It’s currently in the making!
Awesome, well done sir.
I just want cars back on the track.
Well...according to that sign the company should be MHLV...?
Quirky isn’t it?
Chandon is a Moët brand
Incredible
Bollicine
Any word on if Rolex was simply outbid or if they planned to step away already? The pulling of Rolex for next year already makes me believe the transition out was already in the works
Outbid
As I 2x Tag Heuer owner, I approve 👍😉
Confirmed
When it comes to watches, I am a Longines fan.
How long till we see Kym getting around with a LV bumbag 😀
BRAVO 👏, 👏 👏,
Rolex is official time keeper on name only, they don't make the lap timing equipment used by the teams and FIA
I thought that was done by MyLaps but they failed to confirm that is still the case.
@@KymIllman from what I've read Mylaps still produce the equipment and supply to Rolex, who brand it and pass on the FIA and the teams
Rolex should sponsor Aston Martin since they have the same green color
*similar, but not the same
I've a TAG but no way will I ever have enough money to own the cheapest Rolex.
The inferiority complex’s I see in this comment section is so 😂 Great reporting though Kym.
Good to know 👍
Thank you kindly
So no more Sir Jackie Stewart in the paddok ?
Well certainly not as often given he would not be doing Rolex tours.
Wrong color
i just hope jackie stewart will still be in the paddock
As do I
The overall F1 sponsor needs to pull sponsorship from individual teams as cheating might be implied
I feel like Rolex is a better fit, but money talks!
100 million for a 10 years? that's pretty cheap bro, what formula 1 is thinking 🤔
100 million a year for 10 years
cash is king.
Kym are you a Rolex fan? Enjoy your watches of the paddock instagram posts! Thanks
Rolex customer
*moway not mowet...
I’m told the opposite by half the people
BOOOOOOOO!! BOOOO I say!!!
More formula farce forcing the true fans out of the sport we used to love.
What "farce" are you referring to?
@@roythousand13 - another organisation throwing money into the ring, no doubt so they can steer the course of F1 even further away from the fans.
So sad seein F1 killed off too .... glad my world was b4 media/money Gods took over
F1 stopped being a sport 5 years ago.
Remember the old days smokes and beers sponsorship f1s woke now
LVMH is an idiot tax
At least Rolex looked good. LV-stuff often is just ugly and Moet&Chandon pretty much lives on the fact that people know their name. Everybody i know that drank it had to admit that many less expensive proseccos are better than this...
Yo
Tag Heuer sucks compared to Rolex. That’s too bad.
They both suck compared with timex and casio, do the same job at a hugely inflated price
Ahah love your vids, it's "BOLLICINE" tho! ✌🏻😜
It’s bubbly
What about Castrol or John Player Special for sponsorship?
It’s ROWLEX NOT ROLLEX! 🙄
Sad to see what is happening to our beloved sport.
why sad? the original time keeper was tag heuer ,rolex been in f1 since 2013
The money is beginning to really detract from the sport.
Lewis Hamilton obviously can drive a car but dresses like a fool.
It's actually terrifying that all those brands at the beginning of your video are owned by one parent company.
They have amassed a lot of business
Great. More money. Now let the Andretti F1 team race.
