It's probably free flowing enough that there's not a measurable difference. 1HP kinda thing. Honestly, you've got cats and turbos in front of it, they're so much more of a restriction that it won't matter.
You might even notice a HP gain simply due to being more equal length and matching exhaust pulses...but again turbo and cats make that negligable.

so the lesson here today is this.
uneven midpipe = expensive sounds like trash still. merged garbage into a big single sounds mean and clean..
did you know you can even the pipes internally? like inside the muffler. that ol box of snakes instake works on the exhaust side too.
    ALWAYS RUN BIG SINGLE

is it weird i STILL don't like the way it sounds... like it just sounds f#$%ing weird... i dont know how to put it... it just sounds dull, and cheap sounding... the NA sounds WAAAAY freaking better tho... that turbo'd one sounds meh

Ironic that a video about sound has horrible audio :D
I've had people try to actually fight me over calling BMWs horrible sounding no matter what exhaust you run. It all started with the E46, and it was HORRIBLE. And I thought it was acceptable to straight pipe my 8v Jetta from behind the front muffler.

BMW, the most obvious choice for ricers... Hence IDK why you keep complaining about bad sound... the car was made for people with terrible taste and 98% of all BMW cars sound like trash or a lawnmower race... Them engines are just bad and the engineering on it was with only purpose, to make it sound bad so ricers would buy them...

That F80 still sounds like shit tho, it just removed the weedwhacker, wouldn't a full single pipe exhaust sound better? I mean, it worked good enough for japanese twin turbo straight sixes.

It's such a shame that the S55 sounds so bad stock. In reality with a good exhaust the N55/S55 platform sounds incredible. As do most BMW inline 6s.

Every M50 based motor sound like ass once you start messing with the midpipe. Don't do it. Get a catback system and that's it, headers if you really want to. There is no performance to be gained by hacking off resonators and cats. Less than 5 hp, and your car will start sounding like a combination between a straight piped Honda Civic at 2 in the morning, and a weed wacker.
