- The Alfa Romeo 4C is a car that connects the driver to the road like no other. From it's beautifully shaped Italian body to the most direct and connected steering. It's 1.7L inline-4 turbocharged mid-engine produces 237 HP as you go through the DCT gearbox. The car only weighs 2,400lbs so power to weigh ratio is really perfect. I almost bought this exact car late last year but at the last minute I found a Launch Edition in Rosso Alfa and just couldn't pass it up. One thing interesting about this car, it does not have the rear parking sensors, which I believe is included in Convenience Group 22M. So it is a light, stripped down base model that would be perfect as a track rat. I much prefer the look of the teledial wheels compared to the ones on this car but I heard on the forums the base wheels provide a more compliant ride on the street. I am extremely pleased with the 4C, its a ton of fun and a better car than I was initially expecting. Seems like they are a steal at the current used prices but not sure how long that will last. Awesome car and presentation, Joe. I've always loved those Alfa Romeo's. I actually owned one when I was a young man. I purchased a Alfa Romeo back in 1970 or 71,' don't remember exactly what year I bought it, but I believe it was a used 67 Spyder roadster with a 4 cylinder twin 2bbl Webber carbs. Needed to take in to the dealership to have the carbs synced every 10k miles or so to keep it running right. It looked just like the Alfa in the movie 'The Graduate". I wish I kept that car. This 4C really looks nice, and it don't need all those bells and whistles because its a pure sports car. Thanks for sharing it with us, keep em' comin'.

@@nigeleliashenry9927 it's very much in the supercar class. Only one that has never owned, driven or completely ignorant would say such a thing. The 4C's craft is unlike any other car below 100k. There is no other exotic you can buy with exposed carbon fiber tub, mid-engine, designed/engineered by Ferrari, and drives like a supercar under 100k unless it's used

Forgot to mention it's built by MASERATI. This is a base model... needs the Alfa sports upgrades (wheels, brakes, suspension and exhaust) to turn this into the mini supercar it is. Engine from Giulietta hatch totally transformed and great DCT. Just hard to live with in tight parking sports and streets or hot weather zones. Also should mention its maintenance program requires all chassis bolts to be tightened every few intervals. Radio and cruise sux as does rear visibility, plus so low it scrapes too often :( A popular aftermarket variation is a flip out radio unit so you get a screen and can fit a rear view camera.

a friend of me drives the 4C from Switzerland to the Netherlands almost every year to the Spettacolo Sportivo. They have absolutely no problems to travel so long in it. You only have to drive in the right rpm section... ;)

That pizza slice grille is so iconic. I sometimes search for an alfa spider just to see what the market is, would love to get my hands on a spider. And the 4C I almost considered over the RS when I saw it at the 2015 orlando car show. Back then you could grab one for starting msrp of about 52 or 54k according to the demonstration lady. Not sure what the dealer price was at that time.

Tempting as hell for a wild high strung rear mid engine sports car. Im an alfisti from the early 1960s as my ling gone dad had three alfa convertibles. 1963 white 1300 guiletta, a 1967 1600 red duetto and a silver 1750. Today as a family transport I have a bright red alfa stelvio ti sport on 20s. This sport cuv has the alfa bloodline and its a hoot to drive ..and has been utterly reliable since I picked it up a year ago. Alfas are just fun to drive....never the absolute quickest but who cares...its just fun to drive

The Coupe is not in production anymore, but Alfa never said they plan to stop the production of the Spider.

That car has been abused.
IMO this should've been a Ferrari Dino 2.0 but with a de-tuned version of the 505 hp 2.9TT, say around 400 hp, imagine what THAT would've been like!

Was the upright seat back and overall seating position strange & uncomfortable?
It isn't bad unlike a Mazda MX-5. Width is more of an issue depending on your size. And this only has 2 height settings, that are fixed by bolts.
I actually felt really great in it!

2014-2018 were the only years for the coupe, byt the 4C NOT getting discontinued in 2019. It will ONLY be offered as a spider from now on. Compared to both a spider and coupe in 2016-2018....😑😓

What is the point of having DCT and no power steering. The car is great don't get me wrong but if you are making Lotus Elise competitor give it a manual.
Wonder why AR decided to discontinue the 4C in the US? Only Italians have any chance of fitting into it. :)

I've really never liked Alfa Romeo. Some of their new stuff is nicer. But I think I'd go McLaren over Alfa Romeo. Speaking of which new McLaren GT hype!!
McLaren is hot but there is a HUGE price difference. You can get on of these Alfas brand new for $74K.

TallLittleElf If you meant diverter valve that’s just a wastegate plumbed to the environment instead of back into itself.
ScottE Buzzatto You literally just made some shit up. The bypass valve is where the air bypasses the intake manifold and vents either to atmosphere and/or the pre turbo intake tract. Wastegate’s divert EXHAUST gas around the exhaust turbine that spools the turbo. Educate yourself please.
