EC, JM, Derek Trucks, BBKing, SRV, they're all awesome in improvising & playing the blues, you can listen to them for hours. But no matter how amazed you are by their skills, if you listen to Mark Knopfler, it is different...epic. Like something that reaches perfection, or at least comes the closest. He plays in a league of his own ...... true story
Alan Clark is KEY player here. HE lead the song all the way to the end and make it timeless masterpiece. Mark must be very happy to.have a guy so profound like Alan in the band.
I could cry when Knopfler plays like this, he's the only one who can make me feel that emotional, there's something about his playing, absolutely perfect.
un brano leggendario..poi la chitarra in mano a Knopfler diventa qualcosa di miracoloso..negli anni che passano...un'eterna primavera...un incanto assoluto...divino
that ending solo, along with sultans of swing from wembley 1985 and a night in london, is the best solo ever. knopfler kicks everyone's ass, he is so awesome. best guitarist ever, no one will ever be better.
Just un believable .evrytime i watch this it just gets even better. Mark is by far the greatest guitarist i have ever seen . i seen a lot. how the hell he dioes that ??
Именно на этом концерте🎉 "Телеграф" прозвучал так кульминационно!!!🎉❤ Все музыканты были как, единный организм!!! Гитара Марка, буквальнно завораживала!!!❤
This, and the last dozen videos I've watched here again (for the umpteenth time), make me regret not ever having the opportunity to see Dire Straits in concert. I've seen some GREAT artists, but these guys may be the best ever.
Absolutely top-notch. This is my favourite DS gig and I would have loved to have been there. I can remember recording it on VHS when it was first broadcast!
I love how the band feels that there is something magic going on and start playing their best with the amazing Mark Knopfler to make one of the best live rock jams ever recorded. and this is from 1992!
I'm convinced that the part from 30 secs to about 1min-50 is what Douglas Adams is referring to in 'Hitchikers' as sounding like an angel crying. Just beautiful.
I'm 14 and i love this music. There's no law that you have to listen to music from your "era". One reason I don't is because IT SUCKS. A lot of artists are just wannabes who can't even play live, and some don't have the feeling for real music. This is the best music there is in my honest opinion. Everyone has got their own opinion, don't mix yours up with others.
totally agree with heBull25... best guitar player and no one will ever be better.. from some metallic thing like guitar to be produced such a organic sound; that only one can be capable to do and he simply is Mark Knopfler... a million thanks to you Mark
I went to this very concert back then, and I can tell you it was the best I've ever been to. After the show, we realized that they had played more than 2 hours, instead of the scheduled 1.5 h (encores included). Why? Well, they kept playing on and on during the encore because they enjoyed playing. At least, it was the feeling we had. They didn't do it for the money, yanno.
I see 3 dislikes in top right???? I wonder how anyone can dislike such a legendary singer/songwriter as MK. There's some odd people about. I know that it's a good job we're not all alike but still.........
I know what you are saying. Words/lyrics can only go so far. The next level is music/instrumentals - and still that leaves one lacking at times. There's no such thing as heaven on earth, but music helps!
@onnoman It's because you are appropriately in love with the sounds...it's the vibe, man.nothing the matter,,,nothing off....just you and the music ...like I am when I hear many of the Moody Blues pieces. Natural, baby. Roll with it. Tom in Utica NY
best version of one of the greatest songs ever. hands down, it doesn't get any better than this. maybe sultans of swing from wembley arena and night in london get anywhere close
this is just superb, would be even better had Terry Williams been on the drums he was i the Alchemy version. but still breathtaking all the same, MK is note perfect as always..
@onnoman It's because you are appropriately in love with the sounds...it's the vibe, man.nothing the matter,,,nothing off....just you and the music ...like I am when I hear many of the Moody Blues pieces. Natural, baby. Roll with it. Tom in Utica NY PS...if you arent a musician, you should be.
Literally the best guitar solo in the history of the world
+Pierre Belliveau Only second to Hendrix's All Along The Watchtower ;) (which kills absolutely everything)
No matter how hard anyone tries no one will ever be like Mark Knopfler period.

No question: he plays in a league of his own!
1992 was a golden year for Dire Straits, I love bootlegs from this year
It's amazing how they PUMP it more and more into the climax. This is pure rock 'n' roll orgasm. Unbelivable...
Chi vorebbe andare a paradiso quando abbiamo legendi come Mark Knopfler?

Just 4 words:
THAT IS PURE AWESOMENESS !!
Dont get any better than this !!!
nobody will be able to make a song like this ever.
Dire Straits o Mark Knopfler e helt underbara! Växte upp med dem och kan inte låta bli att lyssna på dem än idag.....
I'm convinced that the part from 30 secs to about 1min-50 is what Douglas Adams is referring to in 'Hitchikers' as sounding like an angel crying.
Just beautiful.
That jet-takeoff fadeout at the end...chills.
this epic song was the reason why i learned to play guitar^^
Great Band!
And great Stadium as well. R.I.P. Old "Joggeli" Stadium!

6:16 & 7:30 tickles, wiggles and giggles. The way he brings it home at 8:10 on is UNREAL.
This performance is really phenomenal.
I grew up with this music and I still listen to it, good to see old videos and live performances on here though... memories...
This is so well constructed. A timeless master piece.
