Saw them on B in arms tour at Wembley arena what an amazing night 15 years old one of the best gigs and nights ive ever had..the only down side was my dads mates was all puffing but my dad hates drugs and he never knew then i was bang into puffing all i could do was get the smell from them joints 😢 when what i wanted was to get fecking high man.. but the boys played there heats❤out that night so thanks mark n band 10 out of 10 for the show .. i did finally get my own band and tour 🏴 3 time's and take plenty of drugs 😊 along the way 88-93 was great times for bands and music properly the resl last time for live music with groups, now its just one man n laptop with some silly bird bearly dressed can sing you know what im saying 2023 music industry is finished..
MK is just really amazing! Every time when he plays it he adds something new and puts such a big smile on my face for hearing something new. Not only new but also brilliant. Even after playing if for more then 30 years now he keeps finding and adding new things and you will never find two of the same versions. He always plays it different. I don`t know how he does it but damn if you can do that you are just far beyond of being good. For me personally there is no other guitarist then MK, he is one of a kind and the best of the best. He is the king.
Among the easily available versions I prefer the one played in Nimes on 29-9-92. I think the muted string bars just before the final solo buid up are better. Also the final solo I think is slighly better. It is just a matter of personal taste, both verions are great. Another incredible version, and probably superior to both Basel and Nimes, is the one of the bootleg named: On Every Planet (Norway 92) the final solo is amazingly fluid. in 91-92, even if not as energic as in previous tours, Mark and Co. were much more sophisticated in the arrangements.
@@numv2 this one sounds rushed. although he seems to be having much more fun with his fill licks in this version. alot of great versions. wont ever get better than the studio version if you ask me
This is a non official recording (or at least a non commercial recording). It's from the bootleg Ticket To Heaven which captures the show on 28 June 1992

Fantastic version!!!🎸💖🎸💖🎸
The divine hands of Mark Knopfler. This is one of the best live version of this masterpiece. Thanks Mark for your unbelievable art.
Knopfler was playing the lights out that night

Epic guitar solo ☺
10:09 - 10:16 is the best I've ever heard him play this song.. Amazing
Yes. The buildup before that part is even better.

Thank you. That is for sure the best version of this track (and not a dirty old one)
I think This is the best version.
Buff, I think Alchemy version is by far much better and even 2005 in Knopfler tour was better too
I agree
I think this is the best version. The solo is fantastic.

if you like this one make sure you listen to the version live at the Royal Albert Hall.
The Alchemy version? Well, this one from 1992 is way better ;)

@@FxnWaySheGoes, true. The studio version is the real one with several guitar tracks that couldn't be played live.
@@numv2 yeah it really is a extraveganza of guitar, would be impossible for him to play it all haha
I prefer the version on the alchemy tour...they played the hell out of it...but this is good
On FIRE!!!
Maravilhoso!!!!
What happened to the video of the

Still can't find better quality of this version. This just fine but sound is flat and almost like mono...
Mateusz Kopczyński I might try to remaster it myself in audacity, since nobody else will...
like posé
does anyone know if telegraph road was performed at all on the brothers in arms tour?
Aw
My fave Straits song. What happens to the drums in the final segment? non-existent. shame.
Chris Whitten on drums who has a different style than Terry Williams
@@numv2 mabey bad mixing? becasue in the nimes version the drums are fine
@@numv2 and the drums sound bad on money for nothing (the song after this)
