Brian Robertson was in Motorhead and not Rob! Slip of the tongue
Formulas fatal to the flesh is an absolute MASTERPIECE!!!!
Agreed. It's an amazing album. Thanks for watching and commenting
@@mrboulder9714 Τhank you sir!
cheers and greetings from Greece.
Always good to see you when somebody talks about Annihilator albums that aren’t the first two. The bass player of that period was Russell Bergquist, I went to high school with him MANY years ago lol. Great video James 🤘
There's definitely more to Annihilator than the first 2 albums mate, as you know. Cheers Darcy as always fella 👍
Another Perfect Day is in my top 3 of Motorhead's releases. Great pick
It's a fantastic album. I honestly don't understand whybit doesn't get more love from some of the fans
Cheers for watching fella 👍
Fly On The Wall was the first metal album I bought that wasn't a compilation and FFF is my favourite Morbid Angel album, the way that Nothing Is Not gets slower and heavier is just absolutely amazing.
Fly On The Wall is quality, took me a long time to really appreciate it. Yeah Formulas Fatal To The Flesh is an amazing album. Cheers for watching
Formulas from Morbid Angel is their sickest album. So underrated !
Agreed fella. A masterpiece of a Death Metal album which is easily one of their best in my opinion. Cheers
Great choice, love all these albums 🤘🖤 Especially Annihilator and Exodus deserve much more love.
Those two definitely need more love, I 100% agree. Thanks for watching and commenting 👌
Your basement looks like every TV Studio basement from the 80s & 90s (very quaint and orderly👌)
Haha. Cheers for watching fella 👍
Totally Agree with Formulas Fatal to the Flesh! amazing album!
Yeah Formulas totally flies under the radar which is a shame as its an excellent album. Cheers for watching and commenting
@@mrboulder9714 yeah so underrated! is one of the best death metal albums! cheers mate!
Pleasures of the Flesh is one of the most underrated thrash albums. It's my second favorite Exodus record.
Agreed fella. Excellent album that doesn't get the credit that other albums do. Cheers for watching and commenting
Interesting video as always James. I do like " Versus " , my mate won a copy of that on C.D from the local radio station when it came out. He passed it on to me, so I have a soft spot for it.
I bought that " Britny Fox " as well and blast it occasionally. From " Fly on the wall " I think If i'm being honest
only like " Shake your Foundations " and " Sink the Pink ".
All good stuff mate🤘
That Britny Fox album is so underrated. Vs is excellent isn't it mate. Cheers Keith
Just came across your channel. As a guitarist and fellow Metal lover I am glad I found your videos. “Formulas Fatal To The Flesh” has always been one of my top played Morbid Angel albums. It has such a swampy, groovy and dark feel and I remember being bummed that David Vincent left the band but when I heard this it was instantly an amazing sounding album and I was very satisfied and happily surprised. Love the videos brother!
Yeah Formulas Fatal To The Flesh is an underrated beast. The insane guitar work and time changes in the songs make it an interesting listen. Cheers for watching and commenting on the video
Hi there friend, interesting collection, I must admit I have only listened to The Gathering which I love, and Pearl Jam - Vs, another fantastic album, probably their best or at least my favorite from theirs, cheers ✌🏻🥂
The Gathering is an excellent album, as is VS. Cheers for watching and commenting fella 👍
The Gathering, Formation of Damnation, The Legacy and The New Order are my favorite Testament albums
All excellent albums. Formation of Damnation and The New Order are my favourites. Cheers for watching fella 👍
Some good choices here James. Another perfect day is great, I don't know why a lot of people aren't a fan of it. Dancing on your grave and down at the funny farm are a couple of my favourites from the band, and the art work is ace. Just had a look through the tracks and no weak song on it. Yeah Fly On The Wall is very overlooked, perhaps a couple of steps down on the previous albums but definitely not a bad album. Detonator is another good choice, easily as good as invasion and cellar.
Yeah, Detonator, Another Perfect Day and Fly On The Wall are all albums that definitely get overlooked. Thanks Grant as always
Love those Ratt and Britny Fox albums!
Agreed Jimmy. Both really good albums that don't get talked about as often as some other's do. Cheers fella
Was playing another perfect day by motorhead today, very underrated album.
Agreed fella, definitely deserves more recognition. Cheers
The Gathering is the dog bollox mate, I've always loved it, and the Low album which is another record that never gets a mention, Down For Life is an absolute f*cking banger!!! My favourite off The Gathering, Chuck Billy is my favourite thrash singer, period! Dave Lombardo's drums sound monster on this, I agree pal rip roaring album, not a duff track, good call...I'm off to see Testament support Anthrax later this year in Wolverhampton, tickets purchased, my second time seeing them, first time was The Ritual tour, 92 I think. Cheers
You're the second person to also mention the excellent Low album, I think I'm gonna show that one when I get round to making Part 3. Yeah, I'm off to the show in London later this year. I'm really looking forward to it. Cheers fella 👍
Great stuff! I also have that Britney Fox. The 90s has some metal gems that flew under the radar thanks to grunge. Another one would be Warrant Dog Eat Dog. I plan on getting Testament The Gathering.
Warrant's Dog Eat Dog is fantastic, definitely an album that flew under the radar at the time of release. The Gathering definitely needs to be in your collection, stunning album. Cheers for watching
Hi james!!! i think you're right.... some of those albums are really underrated and for some reason went under the radar. I still need to give some of those record a listen like Annihilator, Britny Fox, Exodus, or Motorhead. Pearl Jam with one you see very often here in the VC. cheers and be well
That Britny Fox is excellent and definitely worth checking out mate. Those Exodus and Motorhead albums definitely don't get enough love. Cheers Cristian
I think The Gathering is my favorite Testament album. So good
It's definitely one of my favourite's, amazing album. Thanks for watching and commenting
Brillant stuff james...plenty of great stuff there,,,Dont tink ive even heard of that Annihilator album? Gotta check it out...Top video Mate
That Annihilator album is definitely worth checking out mate. Cheers Marty as always 👍
Cool video, James. Ive only got the first Britney Fox album, need to pick up the others. Another Perfect Day is one of my favourite Motörhead albums. Showed that Testament album recently, love it. I agree with you about Versus , I had it on cd when it came out, brilliant album. I enjoy the first 4 Deicide albums. For some reason, I dont own that Morbid Angel album, need to pick it up. Not heard the Ratt album either, stopped after Dancing Undercover. 🍻🤘
You definitely need to grab those Britny Fox and Morbid Angel albums mate, very good stuff. Yeah no one ever talk about VS but it's excellent. The Gathering is a beast Cheers mate
Awesome to see FFttF here. I know a lot of people checked out after Domination, but Formulas is an absolute beast, second only to Altars in my opinion.
Cheers. Yeah Formulas is a killer album and for me much better than Blessed Are The Sick. Thanks for watching
@@mrboulder9714Same feeling here. Blessed is fine, but I don't get the hype. Altars, Formulas, and Covenant are my top 3
@ProfJasonC Domination is actually my favourite. I think some record's are considered classics purely because they came out at a certain time, and not because they're actually that good
@@mrboulder9714Yeah, I know a lot of people who give Domination the nod. It just never quite clicked for me. I honestly would put Gateways and Heresy above it (which might itself be heresy!). Not that I won't jam Domination too. It's killer.
You guys are crazy lol, “Blessed Are The Sick” is incredible! They were way ahead of their peers at that time mixing classical elements with their dark version of metal. The artwork, the lyrics, the riffs and the drumming! Blessed is a masterpiece of early 90’s Death Metal.
Randy Rampage was in a great Canadian Hardcore Punk band called D.O.A. A little more melodic than a lot of the Hardcore from around that time.
I'll have to give that a listen. Thanks for watching and commenting
The Gathering is a cracking album, but then I like Demonic too. Yes I agree the original artwork is better. Testament have one of the best discographies of any band for me.
I'll have to try out that Annihilator album, I gave up on them a few albums in.
The Gathering is amazing and easily one of their best. I agree 100%, they have one of the most consistent discographies out there. Cheers for watching
Excellent list of underrated albums, James! Annihilator, Britny Fox, Exodus, AC/DC, Motorhead, Deicide, Pearl Jam, etc.. Some admittingly I don't think is too underrated but it's your opinion, James.
Cheers Tony. Much appreciated as always mate 👍
The Testament and Deicide albums are incredible. Those two really stand out for me.
Yeah they are both equally amazing, definitely in need of a bit more recognition I think. Cheers for watching fella 👍
Great picks, though I don't think Testament's The Gathering is underrated by any means among the metal fans. For me at least, it's a classic!
Cheers for watching. Yep you're certainly not the first person to say that, for me though it doesn't get mentioned anywhere near as the likes of Practice What You Preach, The Legacy etc. Thanks for commenting on the video too. Cheers
@@mrboulder9714 Yeah, those titles (with New Order) pop up mostly on these conversations. Actually now thinking this through, I consider Low being the most underrated Testament album 🤔
The Gathering is my favorite testament album.
Stunning album, right up there with their best
Once Upon The Cross! One of their best sounding albums for sure. I'm pretty sure they slowed the pace on this one as it's not as fast or brutal as their first 2 albums. I agree with you Mr Boulder, 'Children of the Underworld is my favourite too.
I think they had to make the songs slower, otherwise the album would have been to short to be released as a full length.
Such an amazing album that doesn't get talked about anywhere near as much as their first 2 albums. Cheers fella 👍
That Britny Fox record is fantastic. Their best, in my opinion. Thoroughly enjoyed the video, as always.
Agreed, it's definitely their best but barely anyone mentions it. Thanks for watching fella 👍
Some great picks there mate once upon the Cross was my intro deicide and the gathering is excellent I like it's predecessor demonic as well another perfect day does get a lot more love these days off people the guitar solo in the middle of back at the funny farm is one of my all time faves cheers as always mate!
Once Upon The is an absolute beast, perfect album. Yeah I really enjoy the guitar work on Another Perfect Day, definitely an underrated album. Cheers Robert 👍
Excellent stuff! That Britny Fox is a really great album as well as that Annihilator album! Top notch!
That Annihilator and particularly that Britny Fox album are excellent definitely. Cheers George, much appreciated fella 👍
Excellent stuff here boulder mate. That’s my favourite deicide Lp and that Motörhead Lp is my favourite by them. Nearly bought the og today for £40 good to see you mate. I’m going to jump on this and hopefully kick this and start a thread bro 🤘🏻
Once Upon The Cross is a beast mate, perfect album. Never understood the dislike for that Motorhead album mate, quality album. Would love to see a response video from you mate looking forward to seeing yhos grail you've recently picked up. Cheers my friend as always
Excellent picks here James!
"Fly on the Wall" I've always liked. Yes the production could've been better but the tracks on it are fantastic, especially the last 3 in my opinion.
Thank you for showing "Another Perfect Day", always thought it was criminally underrated! Shine is one of my favorite Motörhead tunes 😀🤘
Despite the flaws in the production Fly On The Wall is definitely a record that doesn't get enough love, it's really good. Yeah Another Perfect Day is excellent and Shine is a quality tune. Cheers as always mate 👍
Great Exodus album, was never much into Exodus when I was younger but my taste has changed getting older. Deicide Once Upon The Cross is a fav and one of their I have probably listened to the most. That Morbid Angel is so good, perfect mixture of death metal. That Testament is the album I go to the most now days. Such a underrated classic! Great video James!!
That Exodus is stuck between 2 classics and that's why I think it gets overlooked. The Steve Tucker era of Morbid Angel is underrated in general I think. Yep The Gathering is a beast mate and easily one of their best. Thanks as always Steve my friend
1-5+8 I'm totaly agree whit you !
And i will hear it in the next weeks. 🤘&☕ from 🇩🇪
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment
Quality selection of albums, James. It's strange how we can dismiss certain releases for years and then, after listening to them again, realise they're actually pretty good. Cool idea for a video 🤘
Agreed Sean. For years I didn't have much time for Fly On The Wall and then one day I'm thinking this album is brilliant. Cheers mate as always 👍
Great video my friend. I think I agreed with every single one of those except for the Pearl Jam album. 🤘🏼
Cheers for watching. Much appreciated
Great video James! Nice to hear you talk about albums you think should get more love. I've not heard much Annihilator, but this one sounds like a good one to check out. Pleasures of the flesh is really great, definitely underrated in the Exodus catalogue. I wanna check out the early Motorhead, I'll try that one if I get on alright with the ones before it. I've heard a few tracks from Once upon the cross, really must check out the whole album as its fantastic! I'm not overally bothered about anything past Domination for Morbid Angel, but I may have to try that one! The gathering is a fantastic Testament album, I think it gets overlooked because of the year it came out. People should definitely give it more chance. Nice one mate 😊🤘🏻🤘🏻
Pleasures of The Flesh is definitely an underrated album that doesn't get talked about enough. I highly recommend giving that Morbid Angel album a listen and the Steve Tucker era a listen in general. Cheers as always Josh
@mrboulder9714 Yeah, I'm guessing that's the case because it's in between 2 classics in Bonded by blood and Fabulous disaster. But still a great album, I'll get it at some point!
Ahh ok that's cool, yeah I'll have to give Steve Tucker Morbid Angel a try. Thanks man. You're welcome mate, as always 😊🤘🏻
Pleasures Of The Flesh is Good, but Impact Is Imminent is The real underrated album
Yep, Impact is an underrated Exodus album as well. Cheers fella
Annihilator and AC/DC!! 🙏
Cheers for watching man. Yeah both great bands with underrated albums
Yeah detonator by ratt is a solid album saw them backing this album in london they were on form and warren was on fire....
Jealous you got to see them back then, never have seen them live. Yeah Warren is a beast on the guitar. Cheers for watching fella 👍
@@mrboulder9714 yeh I'm sure I see the ratt gig at the roundhouse, my sister left her gym bag in my then brother in laws car and someone smashed the window and nicked it, remember when you could park not far from a gig in London... I'm an artist and I spent the afternoon listening to Britney fox, motorhead, pearl jam from your list 2hich was spot on by the way, really enjoyed the Britney fox album not sure hoe I never got into them, yes I was carving a lino cut design whilst going through the albums... keep up the good work I'm gonna sub and keep a look out 🤘
I never got into Annihilator in the 80'a, didn't like Alice In Hell, never bothered returning..
Plrasures Of Thr Flesh rules, first one I heard, absoluely love that record, I have one with the banned artwork too. The plastic bone through the "cannibal's nose alwaysccracks me up.
Fly On The Wall fucking rules, agreed about Danger too. Absolute belter of a record. I even love the artwork.
Another Perfect Day is mynumber three for Motorhead. Robbo makes the album with the soloing. Apparentlly Lemmy and Phil fucked off to the pub after recording their parts, leaving Robbo to do his only checking back with him every few hours- long enough for him to do what he done! Fucking brilliant album.
Excellent Deicide pick and it really is underrated, killer songs and evil as fuck. Kiler art too.
Fucking love Formulas Fatal To The Flesh is a beast of a record, well deserved to be included here.
The zGathering could only be a weapon with that line up! Rips from start to finish.
Great list and video as usual James!!!
Agreed Dave, the line up that plays on The Gathering is outstanding. Those Morbid Angel and Deicide albums are both utterly essential as far as I'm concerned. Cheers mate 👍
Thanks for sharing! God bless all the ratt n rollers! Jesus saves:)
Cheers fella
My God, Criteria is my favorite Annihilator album other than Alice in Hell and Neverland! Perfect choice, absolutely agree and I was just listening to it yesterday night.
Acdc’s Fly on the Wall is not to my liking, one of their worst. But I guess you can’t fail completely with such a simple rock n roll formula.
Another Perfect Day is okay, but nowhere near the best Motörhead album. Their 90s and early 2000s albums are SEVERELY underrated. Bastards, Sacrifice, Overnight and We Are Motörhead kick the shit out of crap like I’ll be your sister or Step Down. Old Motörhead albums have only a couple if good songs like Overkill and Damage Case while the rest of the stuff is sloppy, crappy rock. Burner, Stay out of Jail, Murder Show, Them Not Me, Wake the Dead, Don’t Believe a Word kick the shit out of that old shit!
Formulas is my favorite Morbid Angel album - very aggressive, very versatile, intense…. Probably my favorite Death Metal album of alltime!
The Gathering is killer! But I really love Dark Roots and Brotherhood as well. Brotherhood of the Snake is my fave Testament album, absolutely insane. Testament is better nowadays than ever before.
Once again, great picks… even eerily TOO PERFECT picks…. Are you spying on me or reading my thoughts?
Any opinion of Metal Church’s Congregation of Annihilation? For me, it is one of their best albums ever.👍🏻
Morbid Angel's Formulas is one hell of a Death Metal album that just doesn't get talked about much.
Other than Demonic, Testament's discography is really strong, great band.
Metal Church's Congregation of Annihilation is a beast and I did include it in my Top 20 Albums of 2023 video. Cheers for watching and commenting fella 👍
I keep expecting too see Wratchchild America's 3D
Not familiar with that. Cheers for watching
@mrboulder9714 they had 2 LPs on Atlantic, "Climbing the Walls" and "3-D". After being dropped from AR they ended up on Energy Records and changed their names to Souls at Zero. They put out an EP and 2 LPs under that moniker. Drummer Shannon Larkin started with them.
Britney Fox have never been on my radar, heavily in to thrash when they came on the scene. A shame they don't have a comp box set for their first 5 albums available. Exodus & Testament, went off them for years but they're back on the playlist again now. I got in to fly on the wall from the get go, i have the comp video of it knocking around somewhere. You still got any videos? I didn't get rid of any of mine. just need to get a video player. Motorhead were the ultimate class act weren't they, no matter who was in the band.
Exodus and Testament both have very strong discographies for me. I didn't have any videos back in the day but I have the AC/DC DVD with all the video's on. Cheers for watching as always fella 👍
One could even argue Detonator is Ratt's strongest album.
The debut will always be my favourite, but this is certainly a close 2nd. Thanks for watching
Another Perfect Day is a zinger. I'll be slinging that on later now. The only reason it's not rated more highly is because Brian (Rob? Who's this Rob?) Robertson wound up the fans by dressing like a gay tennis coach & refusing to play the hits. It's a great one-off Motorhead album. Formulas & Once Upon, they both slay. Now, I'm not a huge fan of hard rock from the 90s. Most of it sounded pretty redundant to me. But I'd have been tempted to pick up that Britny Fox album for the cover art alone. Excellent stuff. Unlike the Exodus & AC/DC covers. Must have been the art department's day off. Tally ho, Mr B, & keep on sippin' 'n' rockin'!
Haha thanks for pointing that out, slip of the tongue. That Britny Fox is excellent. Cheers fella
While I do agree, that Testament's 'The Gathering' is an absolute monster of a thrash album, and probably my second favorite release of that band, I would hardly call it underrated; I think most Testament fans love that particular album.. 🤗
I don't see it talked about anywhere near as much as albums like Practice What You Preach. Thanks for watching and commenting
@@mrboulder9714 It's way better than 'Practice..' in my world.. 🤗 Cheers! 👍
@cbn6635 I 100% agree, it's much better than some of their earlier stuff
@@mrboulder9714 I agree! I have a soft spot for the 'Low' album though; so damn catchy and groovy.. 👌
@cbn6635 100% agree. Low is an amazing album, Hail Mary, Dog Faced Gods and the title track are my favourites
Well I don't know if that album Anhilator- Criteria for Black widow is underated it's just that the first 2 are much better it's like saying Kiss - Dressed to kill doesn't get the recognation that the other albums get that's what happened with Anhilator?
yeah Britney Fox doesn't get the attetiion other bands get I guess it depends on what videos most people are watching!!! but looking at our old rock magazines like Hit Parader , Circus and Metal edge you didn't see a lot of items written about Metal , Church , Accept , Raven , Man A war but you did see a lot about Iron Maiden?
I'm a big Ac/dc fan and i'm not a fan of Fly on the wall I can symphonize for Flick of the switch but not this album?
that's a case point where you might rather have the vinyl over the cd!!!
questions
1. for when it's warm out which do you like better Fly on the wall on vinyl or an on the go format cd or cassette?
1. same question but for Flick of the switch?
Ratt Dentanator , I guess since content creators show lot's of allbums they can't show everything and some albums don't get shown!
Cheers Mark
I will check out that annihilator album. I think its not on spotify. I did really like carnival diablos also not on spotify. Just the album cover sucks lol. Pleasures of the flesh is good just the production is not as good as fabulous disaster. The live version of brain dead is so good on another lesson in violence.
Yeah the production on Pleasures of The Flesh is not great but the songs are still very good. Cheers for watching
The Gathering is not underrated, everyone knows that is an absolute Thrash masterpiece
It certainly doesn't get talked about as something like Practice What You Preach does. Thanks for watching
Only Dinosaurs Bands for you my man 😂😂
I listened to plenty of newer bands too fella
@@mrboulder9714 this is awesome ! !
The word (underrated) is getting out of hand these days.
Thanks for watching
Detonator is a terrible RATT album , Desmond Child ruined it. The only songs I can stomach are Shame Shame Shame , Top Secret , Hard Time and Cant Wait On Love. The rest is horrible , my second least favorite RATT album.
Just goes toxshow how we're all different, I absolutely love this album. Cheers for watching
