This was a really fun watch, please do more videos like this. I remember getting Roots Bloody Roots and thinking that it was pretty good, especially the title track (like yourself). But haven't listenede to the album for many years - I'll give it a go now.

Unique idea James, I've enjoyed this video.
I never had issues with 'Ram It Down', never saw it as a masterpiece either. Just a solid JP record!
Sepultura's 'Roots' I don't have in my music collection, not even on cd. Average is what comes to mind, couple of good tracks for me. Same vision for their 2003 album: Roorback.
    Cheers James! 🤘🙂

Good to hear your thoughts on the albums again James. it's interesting how opinions change over time. Yeah it's hard to say negative things against Waters, but even the best sometimes put out some below par albums. Always liked Ram it down and Roots, yeah they can be improved but they're not terrible.

January 31st, 1991 was my 8th birthday. I got Flesh and Blood on cd. 33+ years later I'm looking at it right now with the rest of my 3,000+ cds. This was my first heavy metal album. I STILL love it. He's right. There's 14 tracks. You can skip about 4 of them and the 10 you're left with makes for a pretty great rocker of an album.

I get a kick out of him.

Reek of putrefaction I haven't listened to, but Symphonies of sickness I did enjoy. Kinda starting to wanna try more Grindcore now. I might enjoy that Anaal Nathrakh album if it has a little bit of Metalcore on it, didn't realise you were such a hater of Metalcore! Considering Trivium have some Metalcore albums and you like them.

Bon Jovi's These Days, well I hated it when it came out in 95 (I was 20) but over time its my 2nd favourite after New Jersey. Its dark and I dont think people expect this kind of album from them. Great vid Mr.B, the ones that stand out for me from your list, Poison, when I was 18 I loved Open up & say ahh, didn't take to Flesh & blood at all, to be fair I can't listen to Open up anymore, I play guitar which gives you an appreciation of who is good, bad & average, CC Deville (to keep it respectful) isn't a guy I enjoy listening to. Bon Jovi, These days, agreed pal, was the start of the house wife rock era for the band, you could see it coming with a couple of tracks on Keep the faith, Hey god & Damned, then forget the rest for me, anything from the first album to Faith is great, Carcass yep a messy album, Heartwork is much better, really well produced that album with crushing riffs, heavy as sh*t for 1993! Exodus, I love this band but I'm with you on Force, there are a handful of tracks here but I never go to this CD, I'm also not a fan of the production on this, too dull & muddy for my ears, I usually go for Fabulous Disaster if I fancy early Exodus, later Exodus is also awesome, Annihilator, yes Waters is brilliant, love the Alice, Never Never & Set the world albums, after that the song lyrics started to get silly, the riffs were still wicked but I thought the band suffered from daft lyrics & really needed a good long term frontman/singer, someone who had/has real stage presence & a killer voice, Of course this is just my opinion. Nobody is right or wrong, just preference. Super video pal, keep them coming bruv. Cheers

"Ram It Down" is such a decent album, but the best thing about It is that showed the band what not to do before "Painkiller". "Roots" is Sepultura's Black Album. If you're so interested in percussive amazonian music, make another project with another name, but don't spoil your legendary career with that.

    • @mrboulder9714
      @mrboulder9714  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Yes Painkiller is much more superior to Ram It Down. I get what your saying but there's no way the record company would have put that album out under a different band name as they would have been terrified of losing out financially. Thanks for watching and commenting 👌

Anaal Nathrakh are a good band and I think that Desideratum gets a bit over hated. Carcass Reek of Putrefaction does it's job in giving you disgusting, gross-out, goregrind despite it's shitty production. I think if you go into it with no high expectations; it can be enjoyable. Excellent video James.

Not a glam fan at all, own a few classics I grew up with - Cinderella, Skid Row, Extreme, David Lee Roth - that's it. Reek of Putrefaction is still better than Swansong lol - I like the grindy under produced sound - Necroticism is still my favourite though. I actually have always liked that Exodus album, very under rated in my opinion. Annihilator is not that bad really, considering it's a one man project. Roots is just fucking shit - Sepultura was dead to me when this came out.

    • @mrboulder9714

Whaaat?! Reek is a murky classic. A 1000 bands in Mexico alone formed because of the album, all with better production, all useless. That's one of the Anaal Nathrakh albums I don't know very well. Love 'em, but they got a bit samey. Roots definitely has its moments. I remember thinking it dragged on for way too long. Do this again in 6 month's time & you'll be singing along to Reek. Well, gurgling along at least.

My online streaming service keeps putting MUNICIPAL WASTE in my automatic mixes when the albums I have selected finish and it automatically go's to a an AI mix.
    Why?
    I dont like them.
I have never selected a song by them or even looked them up online for any information.
Are they a favored band for some reason?
I dont hate em or anything, I just liked D.R.I just fine the first time around. I guess that is what the " skip" feature is for.

    • @mrboulder9714

Their similar style to D.R.I is more than likely why Municipal Waste shows up in your feed. I didn't listen to D.R.I until, after I discovered Municipal Waste. D.R.I is a great band
