    • @steveboel12

Wouldn't be a stretch to say the level of guitar over the years has certainly increased due to the advancement of technology and increase in world population. But I think judging the level of young kids by just this video, or any video you see on youtube for that matter is extremely misleading. Of course the playing is good, otherwise, why would you upload it? And obviously, not everyone who plays guitar, uploads stuff on the internet.

It was not my intention to copy Talisson Cristino
Since the backing track for this competition has similar chord progression as the Kiesel competition 2020 I ended up hearing Talisson Cristino's line and played it without knowing.
Talisson Cristino is one of the guitarists that I have really admired for a long time and also have tried to study his phrasing and lines. 🙏🏻
If I had realized that I played the same line as him, I would have definitely changed my solo before I put it out.
On the other hand, I feel like I am proud that the line that what i played ended up being the same as him since it means that I have learned to hear similar things with a guitarist that I admire.
Everything I played, I genuinely heard them in my head, wrote them and record them in my own way.
(Still, if i end up playing the same line as othes people, I still play it in my own way and use them differently)
    Sincerely,
    Unda Alunda

Don't worry about it my man. Haters are going to hate - you are too nasty at guitar to let it slow you down.
John Mayer's best blues licks are all stolen from SRV, and most of SRV's licks are stolen from his heroes. Nobody in their right mind would accuse Stevie Ray of being inauthentic because he borrowed some licks from Muddy Waters. It's paying homage!
      Keep up the good work.

When i was in college I came up with the best chord progression I ever had thought of. I started playing and it just game to me. I was so excited I showed my friends and they loved it too. Later that week i was on a drive and heard an old favorite... my "original" chord progression turned out to be Hotel California! I have never learned that song, but I did figure it out by accident that day.

Very few guitarists really get that touch with the way they play very few like this guy just got "IT" since this is a competition you can compare a lot of guitarists to him and you'll easily know his signature sound and in a blind test know it's HIM. This dude could easily release an album out there and create actual music without sounding similar to the shit-ton of periphery wannabes and elitist prog dudes out there. The 1st guitarist in 2021 that really impressed me similar to the greats i would never forget this dude's sound. Some are just forgettable like most modern guitarist but this guy oh this is just like discovering Van Halen and Plini again.

@@mindset1768 you say that... this is just my opinion: his playing is very smooth, do you really think when you play that fluidly you‘re going to have any trouble coming up with licks? I don‘t
I reckon he can come up with licks himself no problem, so if he‘s internalised something he‘s heard and it‘s coming out here I‘m absolutely inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt - because he doesn’t need to copy, why would he?

Besides a couple of competitions, what has he done?
Yet, nothing. Didn't even know this guy if it wasn't for an ad.
Same thing with a bunch of copy paste guitar "shredders" who won't amount to nothing. There's your proof, besides this they won't do or accomplish anything else.
I can see it, people who know this stuff see it clearly, you don't because you are nothing more than a clapping person, an cheerful ignorant who pays the ticket for this modern circus.

    • @mountainman8775
      @mountainman8775 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@mindset1768 it‘s true what you say, I‘m just another clapping person. Apart from a very occasional fusion album, however, I‘m not paying any tickets for anything.... because people expect music for free these days, I don‘t think it‘s even the goal for a player like this one to make it big, the point is being excellent at your craft for art‘s own sake.
Consider this: very arguably Holdsworth is the best player there‘s ever been, at least the best improviser - he struggles to make any money most of his life and dies finally in fairly poor circumstances.
Yet he‘s adored and his musical significance has a long life for years to come. I think that‘s the goal of young players like this, perhaps winning “a couple of competitions” whilst they train their skills, but when they go on to make albums and further promote the instrument, imo they have achieved a lot.
